  1. how, pray tell, do i survive the final battle?
  2. Third time now, setting is on easy and I just can't win, any tips?
  3. the game has been growing on me ever since i met Shylock and Barfunkel in a tavern the trade-bug is kinda huge though, how did one get through? but i guess it's comforting to know that everything i've been sending back to my keep has been stored away...forever
  4. "in a twisted turn of events, you rescued the hapless chicken adventurers only to murder them shortly thereafter" funny
  5. it's interesting how a game that look so much worse than fallout3 can take so much longer to load and save so far there are way to many boring encounters in the overland map, i'm really hoping that increases in hide and survival will take care of that it's also kinda weird how you can change your party at will, what's up with that? there's no need to plan for a balanced party when you can just change it at any tavern i really don't like the setting but that i knew from the beginning other than that i like what they've done, feels more like old school DnD
  6. The new dialogue system just doesn't work. It looked good on paper but why the hell did they implement it like this? If i click on one of the partymembers who have something to add to the conversation then only his "extra" option should be displayed, not all of them.
  7. it says in the gun docs that the blackhawk fires hollow point for increased stopping power, everyone should know this by now
  8. because damage depends on both mass and velocity
  9. yeah, i'm planning to climb Mt Kinabalu & do some diving in Sipadan. although probably not quite in that order. sounds great, borneo diving is second to none, better than the red sea
  10. nice, Kota Kinabalu? the only other place i remember from my southeast asian "grand tour" was lake toba, mushrooms anyone?
  11. so what, i'm commenting on "In fact, the M16 was deliberately designed to address maintenance issues in tropical climates. It's not a jam-prone weapon..."
  12. that's just silly, the m16 was probably one of the worst rifles ever made when it first hit the market: "The major problem of the M-16's jamming can be traced to an idea that the then Secretary of Defense Robert MacNamara and some of his top Generals got; Since there were so much old ball power left from WW-1, WW-2 and the Korean War, why not substitute the original powder used in the 5.56mm round with this old ball power? That's what they did against the advice of Mr. Eugene Stoner; the iventor of the weapon. This change upped the cyclic-rate of fire from about 300 rounds per minute to well over 1,000rpm! This much higher chamber pressure was the cause of much higher cyclic-rate which in turn was the cause of many double-feeds; no-feeds; failure to feed; failure to extract and worst, rim-sheers! The ball powder also left considerable residue after firing which contributed to clogging the weapon and especially choking off the thin gas tube which directed cartridge gases to operate the weapon. Making matters worse was the fact that it was deployed in the middle of a war. Something that you don't do unless you absolutely have to. Initially troops in Vietnam were told that the M-16 needed no cleaning and those early production M-16s were issued to the troops in the field without any sort of cleaning kit. Still another problem was that when a jam occured in those early weapons, because of the unique design features of the M-16 soldiers and Marines could not clear the jammed round easily." the gas tube is/was probably one tenth of that of a normal automatic rifle, it's an extreme design flaw
  13. no not really, have you played the first two? tell me where i'm wrong
  14. I don't think anyone can argue against the fact the Fallout 3 is superior when it comes to story, but it is of course easier to build on something existing than to start from scratch. here's my take on the graphics and gameplay part GRAPHICS Fallout 1; a complete joke. Looks at least 10 years old. It's like Bards Tale with bigger pixels. Makes the game unplayable in my book. Falolout2; pretty much like Fallout 1. Maybe slightly worse I can't really tell. Still unplaybale. Fallout 3; very nice. Feels almost like you're there. GAMEPLAY: Fallout1; it's hard to see beyond the bugs and the weird topdown view. It's like youre walking around in Legoland and there are some serious balancing issues as well. Fallout2; the time it takes to actually load a save makes the whole game unplayable after a few hours. Also the number of bugs is staggering. Fallout3; quite nice, good balance and a nice feel to it.
  15. Nice and concise summary for those of us who haven't had the chance to play it yet - thanks! Are you crazy? The landscape is dead on
  16. comparing Fallout with Fallout3 is like comparing Pong with Virtua Tennis 3 that being said, Pong is still a good game
  17. erm, it does. yeah i guess you're right, i spent all my 'dna' on a really scary "bite", my jaw was twice the size of the rest my body and once i got to the tribal era i could make "fire bombs"
  18. also, it would be kinda nice if allt the crap you've done up until the space era actually made a difference but i guess that is hoping for too much and why is that every time i lay an egg i can completely revamp my species? if darwin was alive he would shoot will wright in the head
  19. At least play through space, in order to make a true impression of the game yeah, space is definitely fun. so far, it's been a good mix of exploration and colonisation and blowing sh1t up. i'll continue playing then but i will hunt you down if it is as bad as the tribal and civ era
  20. oh shut up, i'd rather play a boring game of chess than a 'good' game of war (unless there is drinking involved)
  21. yeah, i just wish they could've told us beforehand that Aribeth was deaf since birth, the actress got that "Aj aaM DeaaaaFph" intonation just right though
  22. coz developers thinks it lacks mass appeal, ToEE had the bestest combat of all DnD computer games released (evvar), on second place you'll find the old gold box games. Problem is that a trailer featuring this kinda combat just doesn't look very cool
  23. i think good voice overs is a must, if it wasn't for the talented woman who did Aribeth's vocie NWN would've been unplayable also, the guy who read the epilogue in NWN2 was amazing, he truly put a golden finish to that game
  24. no, Gromnir is a nerd, thats why he complains bout writing of pst. complaining about the philosophical merits of ps:t is like complaining about the improbability of a 10 yard flying kick in a kung fu movie
