The pusher. Consumers should quit pushing for better graphics :D As for the "old" games with poorer graphics that we still like, how much of that is because we've already played them? I tried going back and playing some of the original NES games that I missed out on, but I just couldn't get past the bad graphics. But I'm totally into playing 8 hour marathons of Mega Man 2. I think nostalgia affects a lot of our preferences. I don't know many people that have been able to pick up Fallout, today, having never played it, that has played it long enough to see the game that it is. They usually get hung up on the interface and the graphics. Furthermore, reading is becoming passe. We're getting spoiled with spoken lines of dialogue, and when you see Morte's miniature essay for a response after every dialogue option, it can be a bit burdensome. As for games like Planescape: Torment being "terrific," don't forget that we're the specific market audience for it. I have seen many people that have not enjoyed PS:T, as it just wasn't their kind of game. Please don't go completely ignoring their tastes when you make statements such as PS:T being absolutely terrific. I love PS:T as much as anyone else too. As for Lineage, well, Blizzard could put out a game that lookd marginally better than their previous iteration and people would still buy it based on the success of the previous. Lineage came out in 1998. 3D accelerators were still in their infancy, and the other big MMORPG had similar graphics. Once it had the installed base, it didn't need the better graphics because people were already playing Lineage I. I wonder if people would still make the transition if Lineage II had much better gameplay, but WORSE graphics? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I picked up and played through not only Fallout, but an abandonware copy of Wasteland in the past year. I've also played Zork. So NYAH!

Also, if you could mayber superimpose the head I have laid out so tackily to the side, under the 'S' in Strawberry, that would be wicked awesome, but only if it's not too much work to do. I tried, but I couldn't get it to highlight properly.

Hades One is a Curmudgeonous RPG Player type of card When other members attempt to attack Hades One, he gets 3 'Riled Curmudgeon' tokens. For six 'Riled Curmudgeon' tokens, Hades can cast 'No Game is really any good.' Which unless countered by 'Didn't you buy this game though?' by a member with over 2000 posts, gives Hades One a 'Bioware aren't all that token'. For two 'Bioware ain't all that' tokens, Hades One can cast 'Biofanboi Assault', which while not doing damage succeeds in getting Volourn whipped into a frenzy (+10Atk/Def) giving him a 'The Troll has become the Prey' token. For three 'The Troll has become the Prey' tokens, Hades can cast 'Call of the Black Islander' summoning Black Isle veterans, to reminisce about old times, dealing 1000 points of 'I don't understand what they're talking about' damage to all posters with under 2000 posts, sending them into confusion for the next five rounds. As soon as it is revealed that Hades has bought all the games he said sucks, he is put out of play out of shame and incoherent arguments as to why he bought said games.

Naw, this is the infamous parody of Strawberry Shortcake Penny Arcade did, and then got a cease and desist from American Greetings forcing them to pull it down in their poor (at the time) state. I figured since I haven't got a cease and desist from Jack Thompson yet, I'd try for one from American Greetings.

Repealing seat-belt (or motor cycle crash helmet) obligations of vehicluar drivers is only acceptable if there is some sort of mandatory health insurance. Otherwise, others have to pay for the idiot that spils his brains on the pavement and has neither health insurance nor a helmet. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why? If he's being stupid with no health insurance, scrape his guts off the pavement and throw him in a waste bin.

Note: The only reason I would be for marijuana legalization, is if cigarrettes and chew were criminalized. While I realize pot has negative side effects too, I consider it to be the lesser evil.

On the other hand, rather than being a financial drain on society (via illegal, non-taxed grows, and prosecution of users/sellers) it can be taxed, and most, if not all of the Tobacco crops can be readily replaced with marijuana. It is cheaper to grow, can be taxed to death, and as a newly legalized substance, you can bet it'll be regulated by the FDA. Also, most kids from the ages of 13-14 (at least here) are using, or have used, and their parents sometimes even light up with them. I say yes, it'll be financially good, and we could criminalize tobacco which I see as having worse health effects than marijuana, even when smoked.

I'm betting Blu-Ray will win, but seeing as how I'll probably be buying a PS3 anyway if I can scrounge up enough monies, and it won't matter in PCs until the next standard (if upgrade patterns are to be believed), then it doesn't matter all that much to me.
