  1. JAMES III HASTILY RECONSIDERS! After deciding to hand over England to France last week, when Kaiser Von Lowenwiggen contacted James III to finalize troop movements and passing of command, James III reportedly told Von Lowenwiggen to procreate with himself, and informed him his mother was a tawdry whore. James released the following statement: "Loyal people that live in this here country. The Kaiser of Germany is not such a nice guy after all, though his mother is a good lay. We shall try to prevail against France, and defeat the looming Russian menace. They'll get what's coming to them I assure you. Those poor poor Norweigans, struck down by the Russian's armies. Our armies shall, shall shuffle about a bit [Editor's Note: 'regroup'] and stand strong against all other nations. You know what France...BRING IT ON!" There are also reports of dissension and talk of rebellion among the commoners, and an anonymous Londoner said "The king is totally off his rocker." God save the King.
  2. Loderunner II The good one, on the Apple //e.
  3. I gave my land to Germany, what the hell is the problem? Oh, wait. <counts number of Russia's military forces, counts number of everyone else's>
  4. Assuming someone can explain to me how important things such as supporting units, convoys, giving orders, etc. etc. all work, I am up for playing in this game.
  5. KING JAMES III JOINS GROWING GERMAN EMPIRE! In a press statement released earlier today, King James announced that "Yeah, those Kraut's ain't so bad, least they's a helluva lot better than them Frogs all up on my borders, so it is with no pleasure at all that you, my loyal citizens, shall join the German Empire in the hopes that we won't be having French as our national language in a few years." And thus, the country of England came to an end in a drunken and ill-advised way. As part of the deal, Germany has not only gained England's land, but their meager military forces. HEIL FUHRER VON LOWENWIGGEN!
  6. Pretty much, yeah. It goes like this: I started the game not understanding, despite reading the manual. Because of this I had no idea how supporting units worked. Now France is in the English Channel, probably will have captured England within the next two turns. Due to proper roleplaying, England hates France more than Germany at this time.
  7. WHY I OUGHTA! I'LL ADDRESS YOU HOW I DAMN WELL PLEASE YOU YELLOW BELLIED ELF!
  8. The Amish are going to laugh in our faces. :"> <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I resisted saying that the Amish would come out on top in the original post. Actually, if things get all that bad, the Amish will get killed off for what they do have by hordes of hungry people.
  9. Seriously though, do you know how bad it will be if oil runs out. All economies except for agrarian cultures will be crippled! Agrarian cultures that have been modernized (the US, most other non-third world countries) will also not be putting out any food anymore. Food shortages will cause people to die, lots of them. Places like China will probably be hit the hardest, because not only will the surplus population die off, but there will be plague because of how densely packed they all are. Because petroleum based plastics are so damn lucrative we won't have those anymore. Say bye-bye to lots of medical tech.
  10. Is it possible to finish the game with a character who has 1 intelligence and 1 charisma? You know, because you can't talk to anyone or anything.
  11. Sorry, typo, I meant the price jump. It is around $2.69 here if you're lucky. What I mean to write is it jumped about eighty cents in twenty years, and around two dollars in th last ten. If we really have reached peak oil and we don't have alternate energy in place by the time it completely dries up, things are gonna get really ugly.
  12. They said it would run out in the 70's. It didn't. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> On the other hand, judging by how the prices have risen in the last ten years (around $2 here), to the twenty or so years before that (around $0.80), someone is really scared it is running out, if in fact it isn't. Just below shoulder length. I might have some interviews coming up it being my last year at uni and all... hmm... that reminds me... Another completely random point... my dissertation is going to require many participants to fill in some psychometric tests... would any forum members mind participating? Bear in mind, this would probably happen just before the end of Michelmas term DL P.S. I wouldn't ask but we always seem to have a lack of male participants (perhaps because there seems to be more girls at uni) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I need to go to DL's uni, also, I am game for these 'tests' assuming US citizens are allowed.
  13. There's always someone who has to cross the line... EDIT: Pun NOT intended. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well to be fair jags, we already do have one, and it's manned with high powered assault rifles. The problem is, those Mexicans are just so damned gutsy. Why while we were driving back up from Mexico after building the clinic, we watched three of them hop the wall right over the coffins that were to mark Mexicans who had been shot and died hopping that very wall.
  14. Feck it. I quit too. Germany can have my land. This game sucks.
  15. I buy plushies for myself. But only if they're really cool lookin'!
  16. 1. There is no way your fleet should be in the English Channel unless there's another one sitting there I missed. I ordered that the one that I had in there hold, and the one I had in Wales (which is still sitting there) move downwards. Yes, the one that was there was supposed to retreat to NTH first, I blame this mistake on n00bness. 2. Yeah, your fleet definately should not have been able to bump me out of the English channel unless there's something I missed. 3. Also the Army currently in Liverpool should be in Wales.
  17. Actually, I have a problem with this. What is the fix?
  18. Not running sponsoring! She also apparently goes to the church that is affiliated with the school. I can't say I like it, but I found it hilarious. Seriously though, the workload described by her at this school is worse than taking all AP courses at a Public school, plus they require you to be on not one but two sports teams, both with massive commitments of their own. All my Great Aunt could go on about was how it was 'good for discipline'. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh well... But still, Pam Anderson in church! Is the real Pam Anderson religious btw? I dare say it wouldn't surprise me. Two sports teams, and for the sake of discipline? This sounds more like some right wing Christian/Military Prep School to me. Are they obsessed with not committing sins too, then? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nah, they're just massively corporate and this is basically a prep school where you graduate from here and you can pretty much take your pick of Ivy League colleges and know you'll get in. Tuition for this place is $20k a year too. And no, the sports wasn't for the sake of discipline as far as I could tell, that's what my Great Aunt was saying. She's kind of insane though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's absurd, $20k a year? This is normal in the US? Socialist paradise freaks like us doesn't fancy this at all! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, that is exorbitant! The private school my sister and brother go to is $300/month by comparison.

  20. This post is a cry for help. Isn't it. Isn't it?!

  22. I have no idea. She fall off the fact of the earth last year after during hurricane season. Popular belief states that the cause of her "dissapearrance" was due to the successful "scam" operation she was thought to have partaken it. Some of you may remember that hypothetical she started a thread (over at Bioware I belief, but it might have been here), asking for theorectical donations to send her husband and herself to fantasy E3, given that they could allegedly not afford it. Needless to say they more than received the quantity required to pay for their fare (to and back), in addition to their 5 star hotel (theoretical money & hypothetical hotel, of course). For more information, ask SoE. --- Hello. <_< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "It's un-alive!" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I totally didn't see this post. jags got it right, and much more 'hypothetical' than mine, which is probably good for his warning status. The scam was run at her FanFic boards, not here, I got snarly over here though after finding out about the scam, and [appropriately] thinking that scammers should not be elevated to positions of authority, virtual or not. They never did give their real names out so I could check the donor lists for the $2k+ in donations. Also, the 'Trolling Other Companies Boards' that was totally enstated as a result of my actions. And Authority, even though he failed to get one of my warnings revoked and making me lose my rebel status is totally my favorite mod.
