  1. I had a 9600 Pro. Worked perfectly in NWN and KOTOR. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We are brethren in this torment <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Add me to the list, though I've only played NWN on a friends box (ick), so I MIGHT run into problems if I tried to run it on this one...don't really know. Eep, hadn't heard about this taks, any articles or such, I'd been thinking about crossing over (even though I'm an ATI fanboi) because of the appeal of adding a second SLI card to my rig and doubling performance when they'd dropped down to the $150 price range and I was in need of an upgrade. I had a 9600 Pro. Worked perfectly in NWN and KOTOR. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me too, I've always had Radeon cards, no problems until KOTOR2, just some random game crashes, about 1 every hour or two. I have a 9600 pro right now. I might consider a nVidia card but I have a Shuttle mini-PC, some video cards are too large or generate too much heat. Anyway, I've always used ATI cards and did not have any problems, until KOTOR2. I have'nt upgraded my drivers in a while, I wonder if it would fix my problems or make them worse? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wait....without spoilers, how bad are these bugs, I might have to hold off on purchasing even longer (not that that's a problem, I've got Torment, the Fallouts, and Baldur's Gate in my hot little hands, I don't really need it right now, especially with Bloodmoney and Chaos Theory hitting shelves right quick).
  2. Heheh, you'll be waiting awhile on that then, 'cause that's the one I've decided to play LAST. Well, I lost Morte, but in my search to find a New NPC to temporarily replace him, I've found a succubus named Fall-From-Grace, I talked to her and gained experience, and talked to all the chits in her brothel, and got more experience, then she came to travel with me. My hopes for a romance with her were dashed though, when she told me to pursue my love with Annah.
  3. :: Spits coffee all over keyboard :: Hey, put down that crack pipe! NWN is a blocky 3D version of Diablo but not half as much fun. Challenging? My arse. Now I know you're trolling, or alternatively you are also freebasing on crystal meth. My six year old nephew could write a less hackneyed and predictable plot. The second expansion. And it isn't a masterpiece but it is a tremedous improvement on the dreck that went before it. Cheers MC <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Heheheh. Chill out MC, he's a fanboi, came with the rest of them. Tee-Hee, 'tis a shame he's such a die-hard fanboi, he has such a cool username too. TANSTAAFL = There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch = Acronym used by the Loonies The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert Heinlein. It means that even if something appears free, you pay for it one way or the other. The example given in the book that the Acronym came from, was that there were Cafes on the Moon that offered 'Free Lunches' but then made you pay twice the price for drinks, thus negating any savings, and 'paying' for the lunch.
  4. Emerald Beach???? Being born and raised in SD I have never heard of this Beach. Anyway San Diego is far from boring if you know where to go and what to do. Not only that but if you are board with the city - You have mountains, deserts, oceans, mexico and L.A. all less then 2 hours away. And F San Francisco anyway. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, and piss poor Grammar teachers. 1. 'Emerald Beach????' - should be 'Emerald Beach?!!' or 'Emerald Beach?' (a question mark with two exclamation points intensifies, one question mark indicates a question, four question marks are just freakin' annoying. 2. 'board' - should be 'bored' 3. 'mexico' - should be 'Mexico' (it's a place dear, capitals are important). 4. 'And F San Francisco anyway.' - Not sure where the hell you were going with this one, but it was so bad I had to make a fuss about it; besides, I noticed when I highlighted to copy it that you didn't space at the end. ZING!
  5. Thank you. Not really a spoiler as I knew that was possible already, much appreciated!
  6. Remove Curse. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Grrr! I already talked to that crazy old lady.
  7. It is known that the official patch screws the 2 disk edition badly but I never heard that there were any problems with the fixpack other then some internal bugs. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Screwed it badly? I couldn't even get it to load the gameworld!
  8. I'm wary of installing any of those fixes because I installed the patch when I first got the game, but due to my copy being the compressed 2 Disc version, the patch screwed it up. Also, I wanna switch from a Fighter to a thief, I've already found the guy to teach me (Ratbone), but I'm trying to figure out the best time to switch, as I've already got ++ Weapon Proficiency in Fists, Blades, and Axes, and + Weapon Proficiency in Hammers. Should I just level up once more (I'm at 5 or 6 now) and get ++ in Hammers, or thrice more and max out everything?
  9. No. No, there isn't. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, there was a beheading, and a sex scene, but neither of them showed anything. The sex scene was before the beheading, and wasn't really a sex scene, but your 'siring'. All it really had was some moans as the camera panned acround the room, showing some alcohol, condom wrappers, and some handcuffs on the bed leg (kinky!). Then after that, was the beheading, but all it really showed was the Sheriff's bigass sword coming down on your sire's neck, and then *poof* no more head. Then ashes just like when you kill any other vampire in the game. I think the most graphically violent cut scene in the game, was the 'Snuff Film Tape', and the most violent action you could actually do would have to be the stealth kill with either the katana or the occult blade. That was a badass stealth attack though, the only one I liked doing more than that was the stealth kill with your fists (neck snap). :D I've got to agree, I mean I live and breath games, I play them and I'm study'in at university how to make them. But after seeing what NWN did to my ex-fiance(Far as I know she's done little else but play it solidly for the last year and a half). I'm extremly worried about the effect of such games like NWN on people whom wish to escape reality, when you're spending more of your life in a virtual world that you are living in the real world then there is a problem, and a serious one at that... Perhaps it is simply a reflection of disatisfaction in the real world, a sort of powerlessness. "In the real world I'm a loser, but in the virtual world I am <Insert your villian or hero here>, I am powerful where here! I am weak and unimportant in the real world" I really wouldn't know, I've never become so disconnected and distant from actual reality. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've been there before, and for me, it wasn't so much wanting to be someone else, I was comfortable enough with my image, self esteem, etc. But more because there were so many bad things in the world beyond my control (my family was going through some particularly rough times, I was fed up with school politics etc.) that I just didn't want to be there. That would be a truer definition of escapism IMHO.
  10. The reason behind its greatness for some, its biggest flaw for others. It's all a matter of taste... you seem to like that, good for you. Honestly, I read a lot, and for any game I play, if it doesn't have an in depth, or at least meager (in the case of shooters) I'm not likely to replay it. The only reason I got it was for character creation, and to find out some of the features of the interface that I didn't know about (the jewelcase version of Torment comes with only two discs, and no instruction manual). I just figured out if no one could give me any advice on how to get through the mausoleum, that would probably hold the information I seek.
  11. Actually, I think the versions I've got are already patched, at least Torment came with the latest patch installed, I tried installing it before I realized, and it screwed it up (made it tell me to change discs and get stuck on that screen). I like it a lot so far, it's really fun, more like an interactive book than a game really. As for the Mausoleum, it's the big long hall you enter via the portal in between that one mage's house and the Wall of the Dead thingy (where they bury names). I accidentally found it, so I don't know if a dustman was supposed to tell me to go to it or not... It's a big long hall with lots of skellingtons, and I was doing fine until I came upon a giant skellington (like the ones in the mortuary that you could destroy) only this one was awake! I got slaughtered right quick. I got the quest to go down it via a spirit at the begging of the hall, who told me there was a being holed up at the end of it bothering them. Anyhow, I've got an FAQ now, but any tips anyone can give me for this quest would be helpful.
  12. Did you talk to Deionarra before leaving the Mortuary ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes I talk to everybody I see in RPGs, it hasn't done me a disservice thus far.
  13. I couldn't resist, I cracked open Torment first. I like Morte, and there's this chick in the square of Sigil named Annah who got pissed off at me. I managed to talk my way out of the Mortuary, so there was no confrontation there. I'm stuck in this Mausoleum place. <grumbles>
  14. They just came in the mail, all brand new, I got Fallout 1&2 in a double pack, and Torment and Soulbringer in a Double pack, it was nice to get Soulbringer because I thought I just bought Torment, but I've never heard of it. Is it any good? I'm thinking I'll play Torment first, then sink my fangs into the Fallouts.
  15. Welcome to the realm of high-end graphics. A land forbidden to the weak of faith, to the apostates and recreants, aka Xbox owners. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well we have those effects on the xbox <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You don't have 1200x1600 resolution though.
  16. Yes, but it didn't really set in until the poll Ender Wiggin started, which was later deleted by the Mod Gods when someone ressurrected it using the dark arts of archive posting.
  17. Wow...Canada is lookin' better and better... Yeah, though we have a 25 cent per CD surcharge on all blank CDs. Which can really add up when you buy a spindle of 100 cds. The RIAA is fighting to increase the surcharge to 70 cents and force ISPs to give them like 20% of their profits too. So far retail chains are against the 70 cent surcharge, to the point of having big standee ads in the stores telling people to write to their MP to make sure it doesn't happen. I'm pretty sure the judges told the RIAA to shove it with the whole ISPs giving them so much money too. The RIAA bothers me. They bitch at us about stealing when the artists behind the music they make so much money off of only gets something like 15-20% of the revenues. They're the thieves IMO. *Waits for Volourn to say its the artists fault for signing the contracts in the first place* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's the artist's faults for signing the contracts in the first place...wait...I'm not Volourn, I don't know what came over me.
  18. [+stalking] That's alright, I've got a good idea of where/what your plot looks like anyway. [/+stalking]
  19. So, in the Pilot Episode, they not only managed to I'll definitely be tuning in on May 1st for that and the fourth season of Family Guy.
