  1. Statement: I know where you sleep meatbag...
  2. Now this I like. I have always liked the idea of using a feline race as a major element in a setting such as this. My only concern would be will nwn2 allow such? (if not as a PC even if just an NPC race of models). I am not sure bit I have a feeling we wont even get a humanoid feline NPC race. But that aside, just for kicks, lets toss some ideas around. How do you envision such a race on this setting? what kind of society? religion? etc? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think it would be a matriarchal society, the males would be the homemakers and the women the strong warriors (kinda like Lions). Aside from that...not really sure. It'd probably FIT for them to be a more primitive race...hrm, maybe tree dwellings in the forest? Dunno. It should be said though, that there's enough barbarian races as is. I think the Drow should have a more advanced civilization, but that's just me.
  3. You could try format c: and reinstall all your software. Seriously, if you have the time, it's worth doing. It improved the performance of quite a few games for me. I don't pretend to understand why, except that all kinds of things obviously install themselves while you're not looking. It also makes you think about what you have on your hard disk that you don't want to lose, and encourages good backup practice. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Or he good...I dunno...like, GET RID of all the spyware and junk that's causing him grief. Another thing to point out, I wouldn't KNOW how well it performs on Nvidia, because I'm an ATI fanboi, but even though the game said 'runs best on Nvidia' I'm guessing it's the other way around, as the Source engine and HL2 were optimized for ATI before they passed it on to Troika.
  4. I knew it was my memory that was helping because aside from my memory, all my components are mid-low grade parts. (9600XT, Athlon 2500+). Yet I was getting better performance than rigs with better parts...aside from the memory.
  5. Wow, who'da thunk it? Isn't this what I've been TELLING you and anyone else with performance issues?!! HL2 was the same way.
  6. Damn straight it was. I loved that poll. Put my blood sweat and tears into it. Posted it right at the height of the Pre-KotORII fanboi mewling for Bastilla to make a return before they [Obsidian] finally gave them an answer one way or the other. All the little fanbois saying "OMGWTFBBQ Bastila's teh HAWTNESS!!!", and finally, I just couldn't take it anymore, I snapped. I posted the poll, and the results. The RESULTS jag. Personally I prefer Mission, that shade of powder blue gets me every time.
  7. The Pope...is down. <Edit>Damn, just noticed Visc beat me to it. </Edit>
  8. You really should try to lighten up, you'll wind yourself up so much you'll have a heart attack and no one wants that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Uh...erm... "
  9. The only good poll is a dead poll. (And my "Would you pole Bastilla" poll, but that got locked and possibly deleted. Plus an official warning for me. <_<)
  10. I voted black. The day is my night and the night is my day.
  11. Damn you Chimpinator, you made me go and have to edit my sig.
  12. Don't forget setting fire to Rome whilst playing his harp and singing in what can only be descriped as some of the nuttiest performance art EVAR.
  13. Yes, but for the most part (aside from electronic gaming's infancy), PC gaming has been a niche, for the hardcore. Or for the casual PC owners who pick up old titles for their kids to dink around on (that's how I got started actually). I think as long as there's potential (which there still seems to be, and I imagine will be for at least past the next gen consoles), there will be PC games. When consoles implement modding compatibility for their games, that will probably do a lot more to hurt PC gaming than technological advancements. Just my opinion. Oh, and as for girl PC gamers...my younger sister, 16 years old as of the 20th of March...games on PC exclusively. She plays everything from Rollercoaster/Zoo Tycoon, to Vice City. She also hates joypads as much as me. I've indoctrinated her.
  14. Are they really that good? I mean, it would take one hell of a fanmade module to impress me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, he agrees with me that Beyond Good & Evil was an awesome game, so he's obviously a man of discerning tastes. I might just have to pick up HOTU if it's all that. I never did, because what little of the OC I came into contact with almost made me never play another RPG again (as that was my first experience with one). Then I played KotOR, and later Torment, and everything was okay again.
  15. I gotta admit this is a good point, an artist should be able to handle criticism. And grow from it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well damn, if it's actually a good point, I'm taking the Troll tags off.
  16. I is try gonna do as go if dob as youb do ig engrish(intentional or otherwise). Considering I put up about 10% of my 'work',(none of which were finished pieces apart from juhani which was pretty good before my HD died) how would you even know what my forte is? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because you always bristle up and get defensive whenever someone criticizes your work? If you didn't have doubts, and really thought you were a good artist, you'd have no need to get defensive.
  17. It would be awesome if they made something like Bloodlines...you know, without all the bad stuff that brought it down (bugs etc.). Bloodlines is still one of my favorite games though, even with it's problems.
  18. Isnt that some form of action/modern platform/puzzle thing? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sort of. It has platforming elements, but it also has a lot of stealth/sneaking elements (sort of similar to Splinter Cell, but more lighthearted), truly original gameplay, and seamless cinematics (the whole game plays out in wide screen). For me it was more of an interactive movie than a videogame. One of the most awesome stories ever. I figure I got sixteen hours out of it on my first playthrough (I've played it a couple times since then), and a movie costs me $7-$9, and lasts an hour and a half on average. Therefore it is worth $70...easy.
  19. So - how're your coworkers doin'? I think it's pretty obvious that there are significant advantages to console gaming over PC gaming, for reasons that have been stated here and elsewhere a gazillion times; there's no reason for me to go over it again. Three things will contribute to what I believe will be PC gamings final destruction: (1) Widespread adoption of broadband internet appears to be occurring, and about the same time that consoles are taking advantage of what this offers. (2) The next generation consoles will have graphics far above the capabilities of computers that most people can afford, including the tech savy (e.g. me). (3) Hi, Opal. About the only sort of game that I doubt I'll ever be able to play effectively on a console is interactive fiction. And even then, there're programs available for at least the Dreamcast to play them, and I suppose I could finagle an XBox into doing the same thing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Give me a freaking break. Unless you're looking at some skunkworks specs, most of what's been released so far, is Next Gen ATI Chips (Xbox), and Sony's talking about some crazy stuff that I'm not sure how they're going to implement it yet. Even if they ARE more powerful at launch (They usually are, however it takes the developers time to learn the specifics of what a system can do, which is why you only see the best games at the end of the console's life), I give it a year; tops. Then PCs will be the big dogs components wise again, because while you can upgrade a PC, and PCs are in a constant state of flux, a console has THE SAME EXACT PARTS for 4-5 years. Sorry dude, but that's a real load you're trying to sell there.
  20. What components were these perchance? I don't want to lose the ability to play the BIS games when I next upgrade. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know exactly what is causing the problem - the game loads, but about every 0.5-2 seconds, it blacks out the entire screen except for where the cursor is. Doing something to change what is displayed - ie, scrolling, opening the character screen, etc - will bring everything back ... for 0.5-2 seconds, and then blackness envelops the wastes again. I only discovered this this morning, however, so I haven't had a chance to look around for a fix. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, mine already does that, but only when I enter a new area. Not nearly as annoying as the Camera Bug I was getting on my desktop with Torment. I'm thinking Fallout would probably work properly on my laptop too.
