Wondering about Dark Side Options
Qistina replied to DarthDeven's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
the problem for KotOR 2 is still want to link it with Revan, i think the story can run fine without Revan at all...so far Revan is just a story from the characters we interact with...It somehow lessen the main character itself, overshadowed by Revan. You see, in KotOR1, Revan is a strong character, in KotOR 2, The Exile stand on Revan shadow Of course we can link it all up the way it seems to be, but it doesn't make it is making sense...Revan left no matter LS or DS for me don't make sense at all. It makes everything he/she do is for nothing. it worsen when we know his/her fate in SWTOR It is better if Revan didn't left, but The Exile have no way to reach him/her in the game, Revan is somewhere else doing his/her business, so KotOR 2 can focus and shine the new character...like DA2, Hawke is shining because DA2 is about Hawke and not The Warden (despite everything bad about DA2) The problem is to create two possible outcomes, Revan LS and DS, that is why both is linear throughout the game...no matter if you choose LS or DS, the same thing being talked about Revan by companions, the world didn't change For me, the triumvirate are over exaggerated...Nihilus eating all life and planets, Sion an undead Sith and Traya kill 3 Jedi Masters in one force strike (of course Palpatine do the same in Episode 3, it sucks)...it is all too comic to be digested by Star wars fan like me who watch the movie....KotOR 1 is closer to "Star Wars realism" than KotOR 2 -
Wondering about Dark Side Options
Qistina replied to DarthDeven's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Of course they all are the product of Mandalorian War, but where are they during Revan and Malak reign? So 10 years after the Republic crushed or saved, suddenly they are all appear, Nihilus eating planets, undead Sith doing what he's doing, Traya searching for the Exile...it doesn't make sense...it is all in 10 years after, i mean not during Malak reign All we got is the Exile say "i have been away since Mandalorian Wars", Atton not really sure about anything and unreliable, Traya give her own version and retcons of Revan....and so on. See...KotOR 2 is actually detached, the only thing that linked the story is the Revan retcons. If Revan going dark side we can see master Vandar dead when Admiral Dodona ship exploded, there no way he can escape, and those fleets are the whole Republic fleet, all are crushed. Republic is crushed.....but in KotOR 2 there are many Republic ships, master Vandar died at Katarr (or so i understand because Jedi Masters are all going there, the rest are hiding)...see, surely someone overlooked that because want to make background story linear for both light and dark Revan. And so, Revan left the galaxy, for both light and dark, that's why everything is like it is now....that's to make anyone shut up about it and go on with the new story -
Wondering about Dark Side Options
Qistina replied to DarthDeven's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Actually it is something that the devs themselves never actually calculated, they just establish something for KotOR 2 background story that must be linear, it actually don't make any sense at all If i am Revan and Dark Side, i don't even care about the Republic, i have an unlimited fleet and connection with the lost Infinite Empire, i sided with The One, i can rebuild an Empire stronger than the "true Sith" whatsoever, and it's my own empire if i am Revan and light side, i will urge the Jedi order to take action, reshaped the Republic, warn them of a new threat. Of course it is I who started the recent mess but I am the one who saved everyone from the Mandalorians, no one can say anything about it, if it is not because of me, everyone speaking Mandalorian now. If the Jedi order is still the same, then i leave, i don't care anymore, let them face the threat But in KotOR 2 background, there's suddenly a Sith master that can eat planets, undead Sith and mysterious Sith come out from nowhere...it's totally new story that detached from the original, but try to connect it by Revan retcons -
Describe your Revan\Exile here
Qistina replied to DarthDeven's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
My Revan is a messed up one...she wake up in a ship called Endar Spire, she actually don't even know how she get there, so she asked Trask "Endar Spire?", meaning she don't have any idea about it....Trask says that she's a scout, and so she just play along...she encounter many Sith soldiers along the way, and a Dark Jedi. She found out that she have been separated from Trask, she assumed he's dead, who can fight a Dark Jedi anyway? But then a guy contact her through com link and guide her to the escape pod On Taris, again she's confused, now there's an annoying guy in front of her, turn out to be the guy on Endar Spire. That guy said she's have been unconscious for two days, she's so hungry. That guy keep on and on about rescuing Bastila, a Jedi, so she make deal, she want money for all the trouble And so the adventure begin.... (What i mean is my Revan just play along all the time, her mind is so messed up making everything is new to her, but still she is able to look at opportunities, making plans, gain profits...) And now she have become a Jedi, she took that opportunity to become something great, she do realize that she's able to learn Jedi techniques so fast, and she's become a leader in a mission of stopping Malak's advance. She did feel kind of weird but she continue the path. Until she found an ancient machine on Kashyyk, suddenly her old self come out, she can answer all the questions correctly, it just tapped out...she realize the importance of making decisions. But still she does wonder why she have those thoughts. And so the revelation on Leviathan, now she know why, she feel betrayed by everyone. But even though she now know her true self, she feel it is all distant, she's no longer that person. Her friends perceive her as she's now, not she's before, not Revan. And so she continues the light path. Although Bastila argument does make sense, she just can't going to the dark side...she now have friends, and a lover...something that is far more valuable than power. She have learn all that from her journey.... And so she save her friends, Bastila, and the republic... I can't define my Exile now, because it's more complicated -
Dragon Age: Inquisition vs. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Qistina replied to ktchong's topic in Computer and Console
No, that is beside the point, you can't generalize all games are the same, cannot say this game is created for all audiences, FPS players don't like RTS for example, even though FPS players can buy and play them but RTS games are not created for FPS players You cannot say "the lack of ability to pretend to like apple pie in you making you are unable to eat it", you just don't like apple pie, and apple pie is not created for you, even though you may eat apple pie, it just you are able to buy and eat it, doesn't meant that apple pie is created for you, it is created for apple pie lovers So you can't defend your premise because somethings are created for the one who like or want those things Even movies are created for certain audiences, surely Mickey Mouse is not for 40 years old, but 40 years old can enjoy it, isn't it? Star Wars is actually for kids, but funnily old peoples love it- 256 replies

Do not have boobs doesn't make a bra is for women only isn't it? Why not just pretend to have a pair of boobs on the chest while wearing it? Of course it's a game which any gender can play, it doesn't make it's a game for all. something is just designed specifically for targeted buyer. You can buy a bras and wearing them, doesn't mean that bras are created for you...- 256 replies

why do people on this forum hate swtor
Qistina replied to pvs0101's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
In short SWTOR is an abomination, the only way to deal with it is to kill it before it bring more damage, no time going into the Fade and kill the demon, just kill it Oh i want to add, all Bioware games now are "Mass Effect" with different titles.... -
Reason why Diablo 3 pissed me off. The REAL reason.
Qistina replied to ktchong's topic in Computer and Console
Why couldn't Diablo 3 just call the class "Shaman"? Shaman. One word. ONE word. Witch Doctor my arse. Because of English? "Shaman" don't sound English, or i am wrong? What else are you going to call someone with a doctorate in Witchcraft; Dr. Witch? Evolutionist -

Qistina replied to pvs0101's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I vote all three reason, because i. Yes the story is not appealing, it based on a novel, i don't like the novel ii. it's an MMO, i don't like MMO iii. Yes, because Revan and Exile are in it, i don't like them both in the game -

Witch Doctor is actually a Shaman, it just that western people love to define things based on western perspcetive. A Shaman also act as a doctor for indegenious peoples, they also a witch, so it becomes "Witch Doctor". -

So it's sexual harrassment now asking men if they will wear a bra or not? I'm pretty sure that asking a woman if they will wear a bra or not is sexual harassment. It can be...depends on the woman...sometimes women just don't like you, so everything you do is sexual harrasment- 256 replies

Dragon Age: Inquisition vs. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Qistina replied to ktchong's topic in Computer and Console
Well, if he say i don't want to buy The Witcher because the whole game is male oriented is making me a sexist, then why not he wear a bra, period pad, lipstick and make ups... If a guy never choose to wear girl dress does that make the guy a sexist? It just a dress, i mean clothing, to cover our body and private parts, so why bother it's a dress or T Shirt as long as it cover our body, isn't it?- 256 replies

Not hiring someone based on gender is sexist, not buying a game because it have male only main character to play is not sexism Role playing is playing a role, just because someone cannot or don't want to role play the opposite gender doesn't make that person a sexist. I don't want to role play a turtle- 256 replies

What effect it give? Those "effect" is there in 3 default history anyway.... Every single game that boasts this feature has a canon choice if you do not import. So it means if you play and replay different default history you play it all, import history is a moot point by that. It is all in the game, you just have to replay different default history If you want to say "i want to play my Warden history", there is actually no such thing, your Warden never being recognize, it just some point "ticked" as dead Warden, living Warden, Amell Warden, dead Elf Warden...ect

Dragon Age: Inquisition vs. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Qistina replied to ktchong's topic in Computer and Console
I do play Halo, the first one, and Unreal 2, both have male main character, both are shooting game so it doesn't really matter, it's not RPG even though it have some RPG elements. But the game like The Witcher, Skyrim and Dragon Age are RPG, i am role playing a character, it's me in the game playing a role, so i don't want to be a male in the "alternate universe", i just can't, so i won't buy it If you don't want to buy and play Tomb Rider because the main character is a woman, then it is your choice.- 256 replies

You just proved that it impacted the world. It isn't, all those add ups have no significant. Lord Harrowmont is no significant in the whole game, that fake Ash dealer also have no significant to the whole game. They appear just as pop up in Act 1 if you import some decisions in DA:O. They add nothing significant I expect saving the Urn of Sacred Ashes and reveal it to the world could make Templars and Chantry followers more zealous (and crazy) than before, somthing like that. Epilogue says it become a "Mecca" for pilgrims. Just imagine a world where run by religious groups the founding of the lost prophet tomb that have proven miracles don't give any impact at all. All these "import your decision to make it sound like legit" is overrated, they can't maintain large scale of probabilities...
-
Considering what being imported in DA2 from DA:o have no significant whatsoever, i think it will be the same with the Keep Don't destroy the Urn, you get a minor pop up quest of someone selling the fake Ash, and just that. Support Bhelen, you get a minor pop up quest of saving Harrowmont family member at the dock, and just that. Does it give any impact to the world? None.
