For good or ill, Bioware has always been a company that listens to what its fans say about their games, and adjusts their future releases accordingly. This leads to plenty of improvements ("gee, it would've been nice if the NPCs in BG1 had more going for them than a stat sheet and a half-dozen 3-second audio clips!"), but also to lots of cheesy fan-service ("My favorite dumb joke from ME1 MUST be reprised in ME3!!!"). For me it's all hipocrisy, they didn't listen to fans, they appear to be just because they listen to particular group of fans who love to kiss their ass and make them feel high and mighty...the result is DA2 and Mass Effect 3
-
yes, but Star Wars have it's own identity
-
Weren't you arguing that doors were an original idea confined entirely to Skyrim? We get it. You don't like Inquisition. No, i like sme of the improvements they make, but i don't like DA:I...if you understand what i mean. DA:I is no longer "Dragon Age" i know, it's a game with many influences from other games, not original anymore. I do feel like want to play DA:I, but will i enjoy it as i enjoy DA:O? I doubt it because DA:I is like many other games i have played, Skyrim for example. Why they don't just upgrade the original game instead of creating a new one that look much like other popular games? I cannot understand why they must changed it drastically since DA2 TES don't change much, and still sell with Skyrim, it maintain it's originality, the identity, we know it is TES game. But DA2 and DA:I changed drastically from one another. That is what Bioware don't understand Look at KotoR 1 and 2, KotOR 2 don't changed much, playing KotOR 2 have the same feeling as playing KotOR 1, but SWTOR is totally a different game, SWTOR is like Mass Effect All Bioware become Mass Effect with different title, all get Mass Effect virus
-
Of course, but KotOR isn't like SWTOR and not like DA:O, not the same at all
-
I think I get it here. You're mainly familiar with SWTOR. The formula's been part of Bioware's thing for some time. Jedi, Spectre, Grey Warden, now Inquisition. Believe me, soon, players will say it feel like playing SWTOR...the difference is it's a single player game. Even DA2 is not like that, you see DA2 animation and feeling is not like SWTOR, from what i see DA:I is like SWTOR
-
Based on what? based on the video above, it's very similar That video looks like every Bioware dialogue since they started using the wheel. In terms of animation, it looks like everything since KOTOR. Not just the animation i think, the combat also look like SWTOR, maybe they have different mechanic, but it look the same with those flashy stuff here and there, only replace Star Wars magic with Dragon Age magic, Star Wars background with Dragon Age background...and use new engine Like i mentioned before, the idea of "the Inquisitor" as the main character come from the Sith Inquisitor of SWTOR... The thing sound cool, so why not "Inquisitor"? From there they establish everything. Dragon Age have no actual lore or story frame, or even universe, they create everything from demand and ideas that come later, that is after DA:O, they make DA2, then again to make DA:I
-
compare the animation of SWTOR with Dragon Age:Inquisition I think both game have the very same "nature" only that Dragon Age:Inquisition is not an MMO
-

I can say Dragon Age:Inquisition is SWTOR with sword and magic
-
He seems much more impressed after spending some actual time in the game. -snip- The game maybe fun to play, but the game have lost many things that make people love DA:O Yes the combat look impressive, the graphic is cool, it's an open world bla bla bla, all those are fun to play and fun to explore, and on and on...i don't deny that I like Dragon Age:Origin because that is Dragon Age i know...Dragon Age 2 and Dragon Age:Inquisition are not the Dragon Age i know anymore...
-
I think this is a fair preview...
-
i have watched Angry Joe preview, so it's a story about the main character is the one who can close the gate, using some kind of power. Meh...seen that. In DA:O the main character is just a normal person who become a Grey Warden, in DA2 the same, a normal person who become a noble, but now we have a "Dragonborn" who can close demon gate...
-
Actually, Dragon Age is a bunch of stories piled up together, i even asked them what Dragon Age is really about, no convincing answer. They just give a general answer like "it's about Thedas", is that a satisfying answer? For me no it is not. Well, i can make a story about my country or any countries, but will that be interesting? In DA:O, they just give you a threat, no depth about what the treat really is, you being told about darkspawn and then the Archdemon, but the game is not really about those monsters anyway. You being recruited into an order, but the game is never about the order it self. You just wandering around Ferelden, recruiting allies, solving problems and then face the threat. It's called "dragon Age" is because its the age where dragons have returned, but you only see two dragons in the game, the high dragon and the Archdemon. Flemeth is a dragon if you fight her. That's Dragon Age That's fine, it's ok for an introduction for a series, i expect in the next series they would get in depth of what being established in previous game, but no, they make new story frame, detached from the previous one. They just use the same universe with some retcons. They also going into Mass Effect influence. And now they completely going far from what being established in DA:O.
-
I do ask David Gaider about do Bioware really have a story frame for Dragon Age, he said they have, i don't believe him Dragon Age was actually a game based on a random stories they put in files hidden in some dusty drawers, they pull it out, add it all together, and there you go "Dragon Age : Origin", later they decide what could be the story for Dragon Age 2? And so now Dragon Age : Inquisition That thing "Inquisition" i believe the idea come from the Sith Inquisitor class in SWTOR, they see that and got the idea "how about the main character of the next DA game is an Inquisitor?", from there they made up things like there is a secret organization in Thedas called "The Inquisition"....funnily this organization is so secret that no one ever mention about it in Dragon Age : Origin...Well, Illumiati is a secret organization isn't it, but everybody know... Dragon Age francise was build from craps, and they try to make that craps look beautiful

It is unoriginal. Changing terms doesn't make it original. You can name a thing differently but it is still the same thing. Why The Fade tearing must be in a form of portal opening? The Fade is a dream realm, Mages going in through dreaming, but they can recognize The Fade. Everybody going into The Fade when dreaming. So now why it suddenly become a realm of different dimension like Oblivion? Originally demons only can come to the world through abominations, but there are some cases where demons appearing when the veil is thin, but there is no portals in original game It is because they lack original idea, they make it so just to put some monsters in the game, and those monster come from The Fade portals, it is as easy as that. They want to create a new threat and solution for the threat, that is demons come from The fade portals the solution is close the portal. So when demons can come through the world through portals, why they don't do it earlier? Why must possess mages to become abomination?

Skyrim + Oblivion In Oblivion, portals show up everywhere, we need to close it. DA:I is about that, closing up portals that will show up everywhere In Skyrim we kill dragons everywhere Dragon Age have lost it's originality, a rip off from many popular games So I guess Skyrim & Oblivion is then a rip-off of Warcraft? Demons rushing out of portals all over the world, killing dragons etc? And the inspiration goes on and on.. In retrospect, I'd say Inquisition looks more like Dragon's Dogma to me, which I don't consider a bad thing. That game's combat was actually fun and the boss battles were incredibly enjoyable and engaging. What i mean is they lack original idea, Dragon Age itself is a rip off from many things, but they manage to make it original by changing some stereotypes, example Dwarves talk American, ugly Elves and they are slaves and such things. Original DA is a unique rip off But then comes DA2, where they have lost it, they change the theme, it's a story about medieval X-men, about mutans vs humans And now they continue the senseless thing, they rip directly from other games, DA have lost it's originality. Believe me, i dare say people will get bored after few hours playing DA:I. It is because we have seen it before, the story the landscape, everything we have seen it before. Close the gate and so the demons cannot come in, kill dragons everywhere and they are pests, side with humans or mutants...

DA:I is about that, closing up portals that will show up everywhere In Skyrim we kill dragons everywhere Dragon Age have lost it's originality, a rip off from many popular games .... Are you serious? "WE do some similar things in game so that means Game A obviously stole everything from Game B"? Like, seriously? "In one game, you kill dragons. In another game, there are dragons." I am serious Why the Fade tearing must be "portals"? And through these portals demons coming into the world, in Oblivion, Daedra coming into the world through portals, It is an obvious rip off Yes we have dragons in Dragon Age : Origin, but it's original, sadly in DA2 the dragons are just there for the sake of must have dragons. And now it's Skyrim dragons with shouts and can talk The Inquisitor is a member of secret organization, in Oblivion the hero have dealing with secret organization, and it's the main quest. In Skyrim, the hero is a Dragonborn, i am not suprised if the The Inquisitor is a descendant of Old Gods whatsover...or maybe a product of experiment making him/her a dragon hybrid...based on trailer i watched it does seems like that

This look like bonfire....so unoriginal...

What about the woman choice? Relationship is not a choice, it's a decision made by both party. So your choice doesn't matter, you only need to lobby the woman to make her decide to be with you. But in this case, who make the decision? Surely not the player, but Bioware.

Cullen has never been a coherently written character. Even in Awakenings, you get dialogue about what he did depending on your actions in Origins. Then, in DA2, he's a completely different person. Yes, he's not Cullen i know in DA2, and in DA:I he's a new person again Kirkwal is a place where demons can come out at anytime in day light, abomination coming out from underground, blood mages running free in dark town, Teveinter mages doing business everywhere, there are a lot of Templars seeing weird things in Kirwal than a Templar only see one thing in Ferelden Circle. Or just making new character who have a very good bck story, a Templar who was afrom Tevinter of magic or anything. They can create Fenris who have some dark past, what is so hard making new similar character? As according to my choice in DA:O, my Solona didn't reject Cullen, always treat him softly no matter how Cullen go nut in the Circle during the final phase. She also didn't romance anyone. The boon is to let the Circle run by it's own, free from the Templar/Chatry and Alistair grant it. By means, there's no problem at all. Even DA2 recognize that choice, Ferelden Circle is most liberal Circle in the Chantry kingdom in Thedas. So it means, Solona Amell might pursue her relationship with Cullen, they might get along, as lovers. But Cullen in DA2 is totally a different person, player choice is doesn't matter
-
I think Cullen is just over hyped by fans trolling...he's not charming whatsoever, he just have some dialogues in DA:O and few dialogue for female Mage Warden, the story about him ended when Broken Circle ended. There is nothing about him at all, he have no background to be cared of even for female mage character For me, they don't need to bring him at all in DA2, it is better to replace him with new flashed out character, a new Templar, better a Kirkwaller Templar even. Ok, he's there and nothing can be done about it, but why must he being in DA:I is beyond me, there is nothing about Cullen that the devs want to push this character to a new level. For me better leave him in DA2 and if want to carry him into DA:I, it is better as non-companion, just someone we meet to tell us a bit about what happen in Kirkwall. Why must be a companion and romanceable??? It is a betrayal toward what being established in DA:O between Cullen and female Mage Warden...
-
I bet he's not even really Irish. They retrconed him in DA2 and again in DA:I I just don't understand his significant in Dragon Age series at all....seeing him in DA2 is bad enough and they keep him for DA:I...i just don't understand
-
No, it is a betrayal...why want to establish a connection between Cullen and female Mage Warden only to make them will never ever be together? The reason for break up or never being establish a relationship in DA:O is because the Warden is a Mage...but the Inquisitor may be a Mage too...so whyyy???? For me, they shouldn't continue with Cullen after DA:O, there should not be Cullen anymore, but they keep him up to DA:I...Cullen was not even an important character in DA:O anyway. He's just there to create the scenery that the female Mage Warden have a secret admirer that is a Templar, they cannot be together because of their nature. So why carry on with Cullen in all the series?
-
you see, Cullen have crush with female Mage Warden, no matter what in DA2 he still remember Amell, and still...but they make Cullen is romaceable for female Inquisitor what about my Warden?
