  1. No, i don't think so, because the whole thing have been established, i prefer "The Mandalorian War and Revan" remain ambiguous, no need to play as Revan in Mandalorian war, that will make whatever we think about Revan in KotOR2 moot Revan should remain as whatever the player think about him/her
  2. I think the last Jedi is an exaggeration, there will always be a Jedi somewhere in the galaxy in EU at the same time "the last Jedi" is there...even in KotOR 2 itself, Jedi and Sith are Jedis...so there is no last Jedi ever... The problem of TOR is they never explain how Jedi Order survive, the time skip to 300 years later is cheap to show there was Jedi Order surviving within the 300 years. It totally a middle finger to player choices in KotOR 2 You see, The Exile companions may be not survive and maybe not Jedis, then The Exile embark his/her own journey. The exile maybe left the galaxy and don't care for anything else, it is one of the choice...so how Jedi Order survive? They clearly want to make a new game and dismiss KotOR 2, but they cannot ignore KotOR 2 all together because it will piss off the fans, so they just relate everything with Revan and Exile, and because they want to ignore kotOR 2 they create their own The Exile "Meetra Surik"...it is all to buy KotOR and KotOR 2 fans...it just a bait, so in marketing they can claim it is "KotOR 3"... But now because of Disney taking over, they just wash it all away, it is a good thing, but it also makes we play KotOR and KotOR 2 for nothing...
  3. Yeah, boss fight is boring, bosses are just steroid monsters in most games...they just have ridicoulus health bar, high armor, high damage, they don't care if you hit them, they are there to be hit until their health bar reduced to zero Dark Souls bossess are even ridicoulus, they cheat... It'll be interesting to see what, if anything, crippling limbs will do to a fight. If you could cripple the hind legs of a dragon so it can't push off from the ground into flight without some kind of penalty for only using it's wings, or the front limbs can't properly support the dragon so if it melees with a front leg it has a chance of a critical miss. Smash the head in, a blindless debuff and a restraint/disabling of breath attacks? Could be cool, could be more hit point pools to drain. Hope it's the latter. Yeah, that's a good idea, it's makes it look realistic. In most games, boses never feel pain, even their health bar near zero they still as powerful as their health bar is full. Of course our character is also like that, the difference is, the weakness of our character is us, human error....even the game determined by dice roll, still it is our decision to drink potions or execute some skills at the right time or forgot to do this or that, and if not diceroll then our character depends on our reflexes...for bossess, they are always the same, they have the same strength from begining to death

  5. Nah, i don't know what i am seeing...all those flashy stuff, hurt my eyes...
  6. Yes i agree that the writer don't care at all about KotOR 2 as if he despise Obsidian work, he only focus on some KotOR characters, and link it with KotOR 2 via "Meetra Surik" the Exile...even that name never appear in any generated names in chargen I think he never played KotOR 2 at all, this "Meetra Surik" is a new character of his own creation, nothing like the Exile
  7. Stanley Woo once banned me for simply mentioning piracy. Well i got banned making new post in Off Topic section about environment issue, after few replies, he come in and say "real life political issue... end of line"...F him...
  8. what happen in DA2 that make it a fail is they change everything in previous game i. the game mechanic - flashy combat the player don't even care - paratroopers everywhere ii. dialogue wheel - it isn't necessary - it's annoying, the players suprised what the character will say - lot of resources wasted here iii. story format - 3 chapters in skip few years each - chapter 1 is nothing but finding gold for an expedition - chapter 2 is nothing but being a noble and fighting Qunari - chapter 3 is nothing but choose between Mages and Templar If Bioware didn't change anything but just improve some things from DA:O, 2 years is enough to make another good game, but no...they want create a total new one that look like Mass Effect Obsidian can make KotOR 2 greater than KotOR even it is unfinished and rushed, it is because using the previous game template, only improve in some areas, then focus on making the game better
  9. I agree with you, and when the customer/player complain or suggest things, they claim they lack resources... But really, like i mentioned before, they waste their resources into something not important, such as main character voice and the dialogue wheel, crappy romance scene and crappy combat animations Weapon designs are so ugly
  10. Like, a guy who was assigned female gender at birth, or...? No, no, no...he's the guy.... I think you are incorrect, can you provide some links that discuss this? It's a joke...Cassandra is too masculine...some even give her moustache...and she bash castle gate in DA:I demo... oh the jaw....
  11. Like, a guy who was assigned female gender at birth, or...? No, no, no...he's the guy....
  12. Cassandra is a guy....if you don't already know...
  13. Well, i don't work in Bioware, but i can sense what happening is the changing of policies, it shows Bioware is more business minded rather than artist minded...the games they created now is for money, well of course everything is for money right? but their business practice now is bad one...it's corporates way now... They love to talk about "resources" and make it an excuse...for example "we don't have resource to make this and that" or "the resources is better spent at other things"...yet from their previous games we can see they wasted more resources on things not vital, such as main character voice and dialogue wheel... What i mean is, why talk about "resource" to a customer? That show they are business minded now more than ever... edit : Let see...they make male and female Hawke, that need TWO Voice actor for the same character, and need TWO set of files for the same character...how much resource already wasted there? The difference between male and female Hawke dialogues are only little, the voice actors only talk the same script, what a waste Edit 2 : It is better they make TWO different characters of male and female, example male is Hawke, female is Lione (whatever) and both have different scripts and different story lines...rather than both of same character said the same thing, that's a waste of resource
  14. I think it is okay if want to make Knight of the New Republic now, because everything after Star wars episode 7 can be canon, so i think it's possible New Republic is the Rebels who establish the New Republic after the Death Star destroyed...the game can be separated from the movie that is on the way now, don't have to interfere with whatever movie plot is... It's a new order of Jedi, like Jedi Academy...but to make it unique and separate from Jedi Academy, the hero must be not from the New Order but will stumble upon in some occasion, but then going through own mission and quest whatever it is...
  15. I think that when people assume that a corporate entity has an "attitude", they'll end up in the wrong simply because a corporation is not alive even though it behaves as a living thing. The great Leviathan and as one, made of people who are ultimately who decide and influence said attitude. Without being privy to the internal culture inside BW all we can do is speculate. If I had to point something out it would be the thematic differences in their works, BW has become more about the romances/companion based narrative driven games and Obs keep doing unique RPGs and being awesome at it. Bioware have a kind of "hive mind" where everyone in the company act the same, acting like a d**k...really, they will become like a d**k from time to time....that is their attitude, and their working attitude...It not just on their staff, but also their loyal fans, but the fans are drones, they are like a clone of the staff and their job is attacking anyone who critic Bioware...After the one who critic got heated, the mods come and issue a ban, all blame goes to the one who critic They are like that, the staff and the fans, they love to bait the discussion into something else, get into religious and racist stuff, or even sexual stuff, then the one who got banned are the one who originally critic them in the posts...i got hit by that tactic many times, they who direct into religion stuff, then i who got banned... So it's okay when they say "Qunari are Muslim terrorist and their religion is Islam" but when i said "No, Muslims are not terrorist, Qunari is not Islam", mod come block the topic, banned me and say "religious topic, end of line!" That is their attitude
  16. i made this thread before it declared uncanon as i remember
  17. What i mean about Obsidian is not like Bioware is their attitude...maybe i am wrong, i don't know...but so far i don't see or smell anything like Bioware here... The problem with Bioware is their attitude
  18. Well welcome to these forums, I hope you have a long and happy stay And don't worry we welcome Bioware outcasts with open arms. Many members here are basically opposed to BSN and dislike them in there current form so you won't be alone in your view of Bioware, I still like BSN and I think it offers a good forum to discuss Bioware related topics like Romance. Thanks, i know Obsidian is not like Bioware I delete/hide most of my commenets in The Bioware Forum before i got perma banned, so if anyone want to search won't likely to find them, but my posts remain in old BSN Oh i avoid Romance topics....
  19. Because there is no question. Please return there and keep asking it forever. Be kind, I believe its our duty to rehabilitate those that have lurked on the BioBoards. Have you no pity? pity? no. that being said, we will observe that if gaider has ignored qistina, then we will metaphorical tip our hat to the biowarian for his unexpected good sense in this matter. HA! Good Fun! I am no longer a member of BSN, don't bother...but if you want to, my nickname there is Nizaris, and then Qistina, and then Boycott Bioware, then perma banned lol I don't mind about it, i am done with Bioware anyway...i asked a way on how to deactivate my account, they never answer because they actually don't want anyone to leave the forum because of it's game related for online features...we can delete our account in the old BSN, but the new one (The Bioware Forum) cannnot... The only mods i respected at least is Alan Schumarcher, the rest i lost my respect...especially the numbered ones (BioWareMod01, 02...ect) They cannot take criticism, and always engage it in offensive manner....
  20. Yeah Mage Hawke in DAII doesn't make sense with the setting realistically (but then again neither Bethany or Anders seem to make much of an impression on the Templars of Kirkwall - Bethany even using magic as part of the party when trying to get into Kirkwall infront of the Templars!). It makes even less sense when you can actually become a blood mage... I accept it as a the "gamest" part of the game allowing character creation, but it doesn't make a lot of sense, yeah. But then the only way to really have it work would be for Mage Hawk to have a separate storyline until the third year or so. That said, I think the "mages cannot inherit nobility" is specific to Fereldin, and Kirkwall is in the Free Marches. Yes, so from both games i can say they actually have one base story for a character, in DA:O it's Human Noble, in DA2 is Warrior/Rogue Hawke, the rest they just add up here and there...they don't actually make stories for each characters That is what i argue in previous post regarding "what is the story of Dragon Age?", there's no story, they just pile up everything from the dusty locker in their office...Dragon Age have no strong base story Dragon Age : Origin, the origin of your character is only for few minutes of game-play, then the rest is the same with all characters....and that's what i argue about "what origin?", yur character origin? dragon origin? the origin of the age? Your character origin is only few minutes in the begining.... Then Dragon Age 2, story about Hawke...what is the connection with Dragon Age : ORIGIN? What? Nothing....DA2 is a complete different story have no relation at all with Dragon Age : ORIGIN Now they want to make Dragon Age : Inquisition...what the hell? So Dragon Age is about what? Even David Gaider cannot answer my question in BSN, he even don't want to answer, because there is no answer If we look at Star Wars, if someone ask "what Star Wars is about?", we even not as the writer of that story can answer "it's about a battle between dark side and light side of the Force", or "it's about the Jedis and Dark Jedis", or "it's about someone named Anakin, he was good but then become bad, later he regret and save his son"... What LotR is about? "it's about a ring belong to dark lord can control everyone and corrupted them by giving them many rings, the dark lord will rise again, a group of people finding a way to destroy the ring..." What Dragon Age is about?
  21. Unlike KotOR-Star Wars universe where we have space magic that allow us to be at different planets in few seconds (warp speed), Dragon Age is problematic, we must take account the time need to travel between places, so the script must take that into consideration Mage Origin have this huge problem with Jowan time line, and the solution is not simple either. It is solely depend on the writing. Other Origins can bypass this simply with "we don't know what really happen with Jowan and how he end up in Redcliffe dungeon", but Mage Origin character know who is Jowan, his escape and everything except after his ecape So if you play Mage Origin, everything break up...don't make any sense This same problem with Dragon Age 2 Mage Hawke, it is frustrating. Clearly the story is written not for a Mage character. If you play Mage Hawke the whole thing doesn't make sense at all. Imagine Cullen said "mages are not human, not like you and me", they don't even change this dialogue for Mage Hawke Mage Hawke going into a city full of Templars, casting magic openly in public and for 4 years no templar give a damn about. And frustratingly you can cast magic infront of Templars at the dock, if you have a brawl there with waves of bandits Of course when Hawke become the Champion it's justiied why Templar close their eyes, but what about the first, second year in Kirkwal? What about "mages cannot inherit nobility" thing in DA:O? The game quality down to trash in Dragon Age 2
  22. The problem of Dragon Age is it don't have a strong basis story like i mentioned many times before. And not only that, they change everything about the game in later release Dragon Age : Origin - epic adventure theme, focus on how you as the Warden to solve everyone problems, end with epic battle Dragon Age 2 - a drama of a character named Hawke, focus on how Hawke maintain relationship with everyone, end with Hawke lost everything Dragon Age : Inquisition - not released yet, but from the demo it's a kind of epic adventure and drama, focus on a character called The Inquisitor
  23. Right. I'd always assumed that much of this took place in the time that the Warden was unconscious following the Tower of Ishal where the Warden was "almost killed" followed by the time it takes to get out of the Wilds without getting caught by Darkspawn. I can't remember if Morrigan or Flemeth say specifically how long the Warden was out after being saved (is it just one day? Two?) but I do recall they say it may be difficult to get out of the Kokari woods after leaving Flemeth's protection and not be sensed by the Darkspawn. Since the remnants of the army have already passed by Lothering, I've always assumed it takes a bit of time to get out of the wilds. Lothering is already inundated with refugees fleeing the blight, as well. Since this is an assumption on my part, I have no clue if the game supports it. Sure we don't know how long the Warden is at Flemeth hut, but look at this i. as soon as The Warden leave the hut, Loghain and his army is at Denerim, Civil War happen ii. Ser Donall at Lothering said the Arl fell sick long before Cailan dead, before Battle of Ostagar iii. we can assume that it is the reason why Arl Eamon cannot send his troop, he fell sick before Battle of Ostagar iv. Jowan can't be at Redcliffe the same day Duncan and the Warden at Redcliffe, because Duncan who bring the news to Cailan v. The journey from the Tower to Redcliffe only take one day, so Jowan can't be poisoning the Arl the same day Duncan and the Warden is there vi. Jowan was captured by Loghain men, meeting with Loghain, then to Redcliffe, then become a tutor, then poisoning the Arl, then the boy become abomination, all these can't be in 1 day vii. The Arl cannot sent his troop because of the Knights is in the quest to search for the Urn, this is before Battle of Ostagar. You can confirm this with Teagan and Redcliffe Knight viii. Teagan cannot ask for help because of Civil War, meaning Redcliffe under undead attack while Civil War happen. ix. So how long Jowan being in the dungeon? How all the events take place and when? Truly, i believe Mage Origin is the last Origin they write, or else it will not be like this. The first and the base story they wrote is Human Noble, then Dwarf, then Elf. Mage Origin is the last that is why there's a lot of loop holes. Another example, in Lothering we can hear about the Right of Anulment being called, the Tower is in disarray, we hear this from Ser Bryant, but i. At the Tower, Gregoir said he just send the request of the Right of Anulment few moment ago ii. The Templar just lock up the main door to trap everyone in iii. how come ser Bryant already know the Right of Anulment being called? Let see, if you go to Redcliffe first i. how long Cullen, Wynne and everyone trapped in the tower? ii. how long before the Chantry get Gregoir message and how come Ser Bryant know first? iii. there's a Templar outside the windmill, how come he be there while the Tower is in disarray? If you go to the Tower first i. how long Redcliffe being under attack? ii. If you are a Mage, Gregoir will mention Jowan escpe, Jowan is in Redcliffe iii. how come the Tower don't know about Redcliffe while it's only one day journey? Surely they could suspect the escape Mage is there
  24. i. Templar ability in DA:O is actually Anti-Magic from Spirit School. You can even argue about "templar use magic themselves" with Alistair. They retcon it in DA2 ii. No matter if you believe Chantry or not, that is not the issue iii. it's more than 1 year, some people even calculate it but i don't want to go into detail iv. That is what the Chantry believe v. in medieval time, even the splinter of the "True Cross" could make Christian overzealous vi. I don't read the novel either, the point is Kirkwal event do not spark the war, and cannot spark the war by it self vii. what your believe is not the issue, i am talking about the game inconsistncies viii. The point is, you only need ONE Grey Warden, even a new recruit to kill Archdemon to end the Blight ix. There are a lot of Right of Anulment in Circle history x. In Mage Origin, Duncan is with the player from begining to end of the origin. Redcliffe is south from the Tower and only in one day journey. Redcliffe to Ostagar may take 2 or 3 days. In anyway, it is impossible for Jowan to become a tutor for the Arl son, teaching him some magic, and then poison the Arl. Ser Donall said the Arl was sick long before Cailan died, and the Knight was in search for the Urn of Sacred Ashes already. Ser Henric a Templar died outside Lothering giving news of Bro Genetivy whereabout in Denerim, meaning the Knights don't know his whereabout., but Isolde said she who fund Bro Genetivy research. There are also Knights in Haven dead, when they arrived there and dead? And how they know Haven? What else you want to argue?
  25. i. If Templars don't need lyrium means anyone can cast magic through training, that's against the lore saying Mages are born with magic while non-Mage cannot cast magic at all. In DA2 Templar tooltip saying that lyrium that give Templar power, not by training. And it says anyone could have access to lyrium and a trainer can learn Templar ability. The Warden can use Templar ability without lyrium at all. ii. The intro is Chantry lore, darkspawn taint everything they touch. Bodhan also said "darkspawn destroy everything they touch" if you ask about how he get all his wares. iii. That is why it is not only in 1 year iv. The Warden mage prove he/she is not like what the propaganda says. So everything the Warden Mage do, it's nothing. Let say people talk bad about you, you try to prove they wrong, you prove it, but then no one care, how do you feel? Better let them rot in the begining. Why would the Warden Mage care to help people if in the end no one change their perspective about his/her kind? v. I don't agree with you, anything related with Jesus will give impact to Christians. If the Church declare they found Jesus tooth pick, every Christians will cry out "Jesus exist!" and go nuts...so now imagine this Andrasterian religion where most people in Thedas consider a myth, her tomb is found, surely it give a major impact especially in a world where the Chantry rule vi. Nope, the story continuity taken over the NOVEL, not the game. Dragon Age : Inquisition will be based on the novel. In which means DA2 (and DA:O) doesn't mean anything. So in the novel it is said that Mages rebel against Templars. It is not about Kirkwal event whatsoever. vii. That is why it doesn't make sense, and it didn't explained in the game. You have been playing a role of Grey Warden in DA:O and then nothing is explained to you. DA2 totally brush off about it and focus on Hawke a nobody. viii. Look at DA:O, the only Grey Warden in final battle is you and Alistair, 2 Grey Wardens only from begining to the end. And these 2 END THE BLIGHT.... ix. No, if you play Mage Origin, the Blood Magic books was in the library BEFORE Irving put them away because Gregoir advise him to, it is because they suspect apprentice read them. And it was Jowan the suspect. Then in Broken Circle quest, there are A LOT of Blood Mages in the Circle, do everyone wonder where they come from? They are the Circle Mages, they learn Blood Magic in the Circle right under the Chantry and Templar nose. x. That is why i said the whole thing never being decided, they just pile up the stories, then when DA:O hyped, they make all the decisions and thus making DA2. They overlook many things. Alright...see this, if you play Mage origin... - Jowan escape the tower - you and Duncan goes to Ostagar - at Ostagar, Duncan said Arl Eamon is sick and cannot send his troop to Cailan. It means you and Duncan somehow stop at Redcliff for some time - Arl Eamon sickness is because Jowan poison him actually - When Jowan poison Arl Eamon? - Ser Donald in Lothering said "Arl Eamon fell ill long before the king died", Cailan died at Ostagar - You found Jowan in Redcliffe dungeon, how long he being in the dungeon? - Jowan said he meet with Loghain - When he meet with Loghain? - Jowan also said that he was hired as the arl son tutor. When he become a tutor? Take a note that Jowan escape the tower the same time you and Duncan leave to Ostagar, Loghain is at Ostagar, Arl Eamon already sick, Loghain and the King was in military campaigns before Ostagar and being at Ostagar long before you and Duncan arrive...
