  1. KotOR is well designed, better than DA:O i can say. Although KotOR isn't perfect, but we can see it is not a lazy work. Character progression, skills/talents, i admire KotOR than DA:O. KotOR 2 is a bit messed up. In DA:O, there are so many useless skill/talents/spells, archery is totally bad, crossbow is useless, it is like they put everything on paper into the game and never tested it. An example, one of the highest rogue skill in DA:O is pretend dead, no one ever take that and it never used by any means. There are so many spells but most of them are wasted. Creation school especially. In KotOR we must be careful when we build a character, in DA:O we still must be careful but it lessen a bit, in KotOR 2, whatever we build doesn't matter at all starting at middle game to the end.
  2. It's fine IF DA is made for console and Bioware declare the game is no longer "turn based" D&D type But they didn't, they want their base fans money, even it can be refund but they already got it for rolling their resource
  3. Mind = blown. --- So I finally forced myself - no, not to buy DA:I of course, just to watch a letsplay a little. I wish I didn't. I thought I was prepared to see some retarded **** but now I can only say... WOW, THIS **** IS RETARDED! Yeah, caps intended. I could only watch it for an hour or so before my brain rebelled and told me it'd hate me for the rest of our symbiotic life should I continue torturing it like that. I realize that if I were 10 and DA:I were my very first game then perhaps I'd have a different opinion. But it's rated M, isn't it? (Not that I didn't play M-rated games when I was 10. So maybe 10 year olds are indeed the new key demographics for BioWare.) There is no more calculation involved, it's not turn based anymore, Bioware have to re-do the whole mechanic if want to patch it up, i think will not be...just see Maybe on paper they thought people will love to always pause to give commands, so they make it that way and say "it's tactical" Tactic such as in previous game need "turns", since there is no "turns" anymore, it become like we have seen so far, always pause to give command, pause and command, pause and command, because every character we issue command will execute without "turns". Now they based on script, no longer based on "turns"...but sadly the AI setting also bad, not like before. The result is actually party members and enemies that are not in our control only following their default script, what makes the difference is some factors such as health, mana, damage and level. It look like they are fighting, but they actually just following script. So, i strongly said again, they cannot give auto attack for PC users, unless they want to re-do the whole mechanic. Before it was enemy attributes against our attributes, that determine the hit, miss, block, evade, saved....now it just you click you hit, enemy move away you don't hit
  4. From this, i know you are just a nitpicker, i don't want to waste my time with you Like your opinion matters anyway....
  5. I strongly say that they can't give auto attack for PC because it's not turn based anymore, there's no stats/attribute to determine hit rate, miss and defense, so for PC users, it's a sad news. The problem of Bioware right now is they don't know which direction they want to go...FPS or turn based? Now to evade attack the player must push a button, meaning IT'S NOT CALCULATED behind the scene....so bad news for PC users who expect there will be a patch to give auto attack....
  6. So it have stats...? Yes, Dragon Age Inquisition has stats (or "Attributes" as they're termed, IIRC). The same stats pool from the previous games (strength, dexterity, magic, cunning, willpower, constitution). Two are important to each class (Strength/Constitution for warriors, dexterity/cunning for rogues, magic/willpower for mages). Special items usually provide boosts to these. What doesn't happen (which IIRC was the case in DAII as well) you don't get ability points at level up that you choose to apply to raise your stats. Nor do you have to raise ability perks (like your thief can't unlock a lock until you choose to put a point in locks). So it is different from DA:O in this respect (but as I mentioned, more in-line with my memories of DAII). To be honest I haven't checked to see if the Abilities auto-raise at level up (I'd been assuming they did because that's my memory of DAII so never bothered to confirm). You do get points that you apply to your skill trees. I think they do make it like my suggestion in the forum, removing stats/attributes, but it's not like what i suggested wholly, or turn out to be in different execution. I do suggest in one of my thread about it, what i suggested is remove the attributes but making the player learn things through the adventure, i mean there is no class, just a mage and non-mage (because of the lore) So Mages will have access to magic skills, non Mage will have access to non magical skills. However, Mages can use anything not just staff and have access to partial/minor non magical skills such as lockpicking, partial combat skills. and whatever. Non mage can have access to partial/minor magic through some means such as lyrium tattoo (like Fenris) or something Secondly, item dependant. Magical items will boost magic skills as well non-magical item will bosst non-magical skills With this, there is no class whatsoever, the player can customize their character as the player want not restricted to Warrior, Rogue and Mage Bioware don't listen apparently... Edit : the problem is if they want to make turn based or FPS, if turn base they still need stats/attribute to determine hit rate and miss such, but FPS like Skyrim, no problem at all
  7. So it have stats...? In know about the game, through videos, through peoples commenting, didn't play it doesn't mean don't know, and doesn't mean ignorance. It is like everybody know about sex even never doing it. Now you insult me even i never one bit insulting you I have lost my respect toward you
  8. Why not? But i am not sure my computer can handle it... My computer is AMD Athlon x2 260 processor 3.20 Ghz, 4 GB gaming RAM, ATI radeon HD 5450, ASUS motherboard, Win 7 32 bit... Can't even run it right? Probably not Yeah...good bye Bioware... I can play Skyrim with mid-max setting, no problem...but this game can't...huh... [/url] Screen shot from my game
  9. Why not? But i am not sure my computer can handle it... My computer is AMD Athlon x2 260 processor 3.20 Ghz, 4 GB gaming RAM, ATI radeon HD 5450, ASUS motherboard, Win 7 32 bit... Can't even run it right?
  10. What is there to play if there is no stats? Even Skyrim have stats, although it being simplified, at least the perks are okay...and at least i can hide and shoot Frost Trolls at lower level... I watched the videos, both from fans and the ones who pissed off with the game. i want to know before i decide. I was actually buying a game based on it's cover, and game company logo, turn out to be bad and not of my taste before. Since then i will watch game plays and reviews, both pro and contra before actually buying a game. oh, i don't play BG and Neverwinter Nights...the first Bioware game i play is KotOR
  11. So stats don't increase when level up? What kind of a game is that? That suck I watch videos, i don't need to play it to know the game is bad, it is like i don't need to jump from 13th floor to know it is a bad idea. Maybe i will play it eventually, i just wait for Captain Jack Sparrow.... Stats don't increase...no wonder... Anyway, at The Bioware Forum, DA:i section, the forumers there are not like what being expected for an overhyped game, just around 500 or so who active vews on posts, only 10-20 who reply on most posts, the mods are silent...lol
  12. Yeah right, where's the stats? You just automatically increase stats at level up, and the game is made for item dependant, to make players seeking loots to get better equipment This game now have been well known bad, no matter how one want depend it, this game is bad overall. If they ever fix the issue, the game is still bad...everything is wrong in this game
  13. the same as Diablo is an RPG. i is just a sugenre called action RPG or aRPG for short. They did market it that way though, so I have no problems with that part. The problem is, that you have very low number of good classic RPGs where you have no impact on the combat aside of general skill usage and strategy, like for example wasteland 2 with TBC or PoE with RTwP, but those games are playable basically only on PCs and huge titles cannot limit themselves to one platform only. The problem with Bioware games is that they can't go full action mode, because they need to somehow put in romancable companions and allow control over their actions in combat. They put themselves in that spot however. They should have just leave the controlable party in the past when they decided to move to action combat. In ME that kind of weird combat worked, becuse the comat distances were generally larger and there was that modern shooter cover mechanic and passive full heal whenever not hit. Close combats with melee weapons are another breed though and if you want good action combat you need to take from games like Dark Souls (hard) or paradoxaly Skyrim (fairly easy). Like i said, any games that requires my own reflex are games with RPG elements, not a real RPG, Diablo is such. The character survival is depend on my own effort, meaning how fast i click or pushing the button, not the character own attributes. Lets make comparison with disability people, or healthy people who suddenly become sick, surely they cannot play the character in the game, so what is "role-playing" there? None. A real RPG is a game where even a person with one hand can role play a character of a master swordmen, because the person is playing a role of a swordmen in his/her game. Button mashing game is only for healty players with no disability. You must use two hands in using a controller, you only need one hand using a mouse...that is why PC version of DA:I suck, it's not build for PC. In DA:O and even DA2, you can just use your mouse for everything...to move, to attack, to open menus, to level up, to use items, to loot items, to engage in dialogues, to select party members, to issue command, ect...you don't even really need keyboard. It is because DA:O and DA2 is still an RPG, you role play a character, assign his/her attribute, if the character suck is not because of your reflex suck, but your build and tactic suck. But now DA:I is not like that. Talk about Diablo, i will not surprise if Dragon Age 4 end boss is The Warden...lol
  14. There are several excellent mods that fix that awful X-Box look and interface and make Skyrim much more PC friendly. I don't think I'd ever play a vanilla (unmodded) Elder Scrolls game. I know, but i rather liked the vanilla UI despite it's not PC friendly, i rarely open up the menu anyway because of my play style, others maybe using the mods, especially those who use potions much RPG for me is playing a character, if the game is rely too much on my reflex, then it's not RPG anymore, it just a game that have RPG element, such as Skyrim, Halo, and any FPS games. Let say, if i am bad in reflex, doesn't why would my Dalish Elf who is a Master Archer is bad in her archery? So it's not RPG any longer, if my reflex is bad why my character reflex also bad? Some people defend such thing, they say when we are playing a role then it is RPG, i totally disagree. Another example, an actor who play a role as a Sword Master, surely his acting must be look like he's excellent with sword, even in real life he's suck with sword, because he's playing a role, he cannot be suck with sword in the movie. That's "role playing" So the age of role playing games is over, replaced by button mashing games...it's about attitude actiually, peoples nowadays are impatient, they feel like want to smash someone skull, so they want to do it in the game by pushing the button, not watching the character smahing skull buy itself
  15. The age of RPG have ended.... Well, maybe in the US-Canada-Europe...most of us in the east still playing older games and like them so much, most of us don't really mind about western gamers issues...DotA is so popular here, it even become a cult... So, games like that (DotA) can become boom here, i think Pillar of Eternity might become popular with wise marketing...most of us here still playing games with PC...play station and such are not popular (because it's expensive and most of us have no requirement to buy it in the first place, not a priority thing to buy, only the rich kids likely to have them)...between computer and consoles, people will buy computer because computer is more useful, consoles are only for playing games Games like DA:I will not have large market here, Skyrim is popular here because it can be played with PC, and is tolerated even though it's not designed for PC
  16. No, it isn't, it's lower than Skyrim and ES crap
  17. No, Hawke background is not fine, and it is nonsense especially if Hawke is a Mage. He/She being casting spells in the city of Templar, infrot of Templar, no Templar put him/her in jail. Cullen even said to Mage Hawke "Mages are not like you and me", what is fine with that? It is can only justified if Hawke is a Warden, like Anders. I have my opinion and you have yours, if you think your opinion matters, i feel mine matters, so far now DA2 and DA:I is lame and boring for me. No deapth at all. In DA2 kill or deal with enemy leader, then become a champion above the law, Hawke already above the law long before that. The importat things that connect DA2 with DA:O and DA:I are in DLCs. In DA:I, it's an Oblivion gates remake Like i said i don't deny Skyrim is dull with it's population repeating the same line when you meet them, but they are alive when you interact with them, unlike in DA:I where it's population just standing around and mime, you can't even interact with them. You can only interact with quest givers, and they are mimes too. DA:I didn't even reach Skyrim standard in open world living environment. In Skyrm even the guards look alive with their own expression. You feel being in a real world when being in Skyrim. i don't deny Skyrim have flaws, and Skyrim can be better, but DA:I don't even reach Skyrim level.
  18. They want to copy Skyrim, but they failed, the world is lifeless, there are mimes everywhere, much like SWTOR...it is fine for DA:O to have mimes population, it's an old game, but DA:I is a new gen isn't? An open world with awesome graphic... They don't even reach Skyrim level, even though Skyrim is dull with it's population repeating the same lines forever, but at least they have their rutines, they walk, they talk, they do their job, they sleep, they wake up...ect....same like in Oblivion, even it's cartoonish but the population feel alive What makes DA:O feel alive is because of companions and important NPCs in cutscenes, they look alive, but in DA:I everyone are like "living manequins", is this what being praised and get 10/10? Skyrim characters feel alive, the animation is good, facial expression is good, even sometimes they are just doing what they are scripted to do such as suddenly listen to the bard and drunk and giving weird clapping hands, but still when we interact with them, they feel alive.... Even the catmen Khajit are alive and cute, we don't see catmen in real life right? But in Skyrim we see them alive... DA:I don't reach that level and don't deserve 10/10 by any means
  19. Ok, but without both, it become like DA2, total suck it is better if Hawke is a Grey Warden deserter from Ostagar, he/she run away right in the moment realized got betrayed by Loghain, then gather his/her family and later got stranded on Kirkwal. Hawke manage to live undercover but soon everybody know he/she was a Grey Warden. At least that can explain why Templars didnt touch him/her if he/she a Mage, because of his/her title, like Anders, also it explain why Hawke didn't got tainted fighting waves of darkspawns, . But after few years Hawke rising power in Kirkwal being seen as "Grey Warden" want to play Kirkwal politic, it is even worse if Hawke is a Mage, everybody is furious but yet asking for being an ally...both Mages and Templars...no matter who Hawke sided with it being seen as "Grey Warden" meddling with Chantry business...the Grey Wardens themselves maybe didn't support Hawke...by the same time something happen regarding the darkspawn, blood magic and Archdemon...whatever outcomes lead to the "Inquisition" And in Inquisition, the main character is a Grey Warden sent to investigate, and so the story begin... i think it is better that way....it makes sense
  20. What didn't inspired by "Jedi", most of this kind of military order is "Jedi-like", because it is all rooted from Crusader Knight especially Knight Templar and Hospitaler. Almost all military order in medieval fantasy are of common trope, even in Dungeon and Dragon we got "Paladin". just because it's common doesn't mean it's bad and boring In fact Grey Wardens do paradox from their own trope...drinking blood, become a part of the evil they are fighting, questionable morality, maybe recruited from criminals and so on. That is what make them unique Now you got The Inquisitor, what make "The Inquisition Order" any different than any "good guy religious military order who fight against evil" already in the trope? "The Herald of Andraste...." Don't be a hypocrite
  21. i miss the grey wardens too.. btw,how you managed to get perma banned? Dragon Age games doesn't mean it must be necessary for the protagonist to be a GW on the contrary,GW should not be cut out from the game and play a major role i agree, the trailer for DA:O is awesome I miss Grey Warden so much, the first game we got only partial feeling of being a Grey Warden, because we are one of the two who survive in Ferelden and our master is killed before manage to tell us what Grey Warden is all about. Then we meet senior Grey Warden who later also killed. Although we learned much from him, but still we are already "going too far" assuming our role as a Grey Warden by the time we meet him isn't it? Sadly, DA2 is totally a different story I got perma banned after some fights on BSN, the mods there play favorite, they always keep monitoring me and my posts, i can see their usernames on my profile always, then my posts usually got locked without any real reason, i also got banned many times while others don't. I asked many times on how to deactivate my account, but i don't get reply. So, i change my user name to "Boycott Bioware" then got perma banned. I am happy how DA:I turn out to be now, and i am happy everyone can see how bad the company is
  22. I am really crying right now...that song and the video is so touching.... :( :(
  23. This is a tribute for the Grey Wardens...they really are...forsaken.... :(
  24. Once drones attack me when i say Dragon Age is supposed to be about dragons especially the Archdemon, about relationship between dragons, Archdemon and Grey Wardens....they say "Star Wars is not about war between stars, Lord of the Rings is not about the owner of the ring", so i give that answer to you.... It is funny how come DA:O fans loathe Grey Wardens, what do you guys like about DA:O anyway? Sex scenes? And it is weird "DA:O fans" hate everything about the game, then asking BioWare to create new games using Dragon Age title...and so we all get DA2 and now DA:I...thanks to "DA:O fans"
  25. Today, game = graphic, when the game have beautiful graphic no matter how suct it is, got The Game of the Year award
