  1. Not only Muslim, but Christians and anything that can be called religion. That is the basis of DA lore God is bad, He created the world, some dudes get into His city, He is teribly mad, cursing them all, and they turn into ugly monsters that rape women and kill everyone spreading the Blight. God don't care anymore about the world and leave, it is just religious people still want to call Him back to return. No God don't care, He let demons do as they wish and the Blight and everything else to destroy the world. He even send his children the Spirit of Justice to possess a man to blow up His own church. Later a guy/girl have some magic thing on his/her hand, can close the gate to hell, everyone believe he/she is a prophet, a messiah, turn out to be not, he/she just accidntally getting that thing while accidentally getting involved in something he/she shouldn't. So what people believe is false. Religion is just something people want to believe in. And so Mythal, the God of the Elves, turn out to be not a God at all, just a crazy old woman who get possessed by demon. But Elves believe in a God name d Mythal. So what Elves believe in is false and wrong. Religion is just made up of things through time and people believe in. Templars oppressing Mages by what they believe in, their religion say so or it is what they believe about their religion And Qunari...well... And so LGBT stuff... And....and....and...conclusion is religion is bad.
  2. The sales doen't matter, what matter is what happen after the sales...You could tell the same.after DA2... they will be making more games in DA universe and they will sell good... look at battlefield series. The problem is that they will sell even if garbage, because a) hype build up b) not many choices for new games of this type on consoles. (Rpg even if very lite) They will only ditch the franchise if the initial sales will be ****. Like in the case of Syndicate or C&C where they simply butchered the franchise Even if they make DA4, the sales will be bad, then DA officially end. Customers have lost interest in DA. They will fail, and that's make they will not risk making DA4. Even now we don't hear anything about DA4 because they are too busy with DA:I problem, and that's a bad sign. If DA:I is succesful we will hear about DA4 now
  3. It is a good strategy here to make claims that cannot possibly be refuted since they are vague and meaningless. I respect that. Let say there's ice cream company making new ice cream that hyped up, many people buy it, it's sold out....but the buyers find that the taste suck. There is a question either they will manage to buy customers after their failure or not? Of course they sold out the first time, but will they get the same trust? That is why sales doesn't matter.
  4. I take it as a bad sign, when they go silence it means they have problems, they don't have time to entertain the forumers. They simply can't handle it anymore. And look at views, most posts have hundreds views, not thousands, some have 0 views after weeks. No one care about this game other than remaining loyal fans
  5. The sales doen't matter, what matter is what happen after the sales...
  6. It's turn based, enemy attack, then you attack, that is why there is rounds......
  7. Thier own forum didn't lie, they don't even interact with the forumers anymore....
  8. I think DA:I will be the last of the series, i doubt that Bioware will continue, this game is so problematic and they can't solve it even after so many patches, and no one ever care much about this game now. Dragon Age have lost much of it's original fans who pissed off with DA2, and the ones who love DA2 now pissed off with DA:I. Will Bioware risk making DA4? I doubt it. The whole premise of DA is lost anyway and doesn't make any sense anymore. It have been utterly destroyed. Maybe some will still enjoy DA lore and the game, but the francise is not strong enough to continue it's legacy. The whole thing is no longer "Dragon Age" anymore.
  9. Well it is a turn based combat game, not an action FPS game, what to expect other than click and watch? I think Dragon Age:Origins does "fix" some of the issue but still...i know it actually using the same mechanic, so it's a no big difference. But look at DA2 and DA:I, what happen when they listen (i doubt they actually listen, they intend to do it anyway) to the fans who give the very same argument like you did, the combat become horrendous than the previous games.
  10. I think what can be done by Obsidian is remake KotOR 1 and 2, since the original is not considered as canon, so you can remake KotOR 1 and 2, and then making KotOR 3 All you need is to discuss with Disney on what they want in KotOR 1 and 2 remake, you maybe have to change the title because of royalty issue with Bioware, KoTOR is still Bioware story Meaning, it will be a totally different story or only a portion of KotOR 1 and 2. It is like Spiderman, X-Men, Incredible Hulk, Superman, Batman and many more, they all are new and not the original isn't it? So that's it...that's the only way
  11. I can say KotOR is the most well planed game, the character build template is good. the problem is because it is for console, so many things in the template are wasted. For example, you must scroll a long list of what combat skill and power you want to use, that's annoying, so i basically just stick to the default ones and build from there. if play as soldier, i stick with Power Attack, because i don't bother to pause and scroll other types of attack. Most of nuffs are only 20 seconds, while casting other buff, the previous buff are already going to run out. Casting buff need one round, after cast got attacked, then cast another buff, got attacked again. So all those things in the template become useless, player just stick with one or two and use one or two each time, then rely on stats for the rest Bioware fix this in Dragon Age:Origin in which good. If KotOR using Dragon Age:Origin gameplay, then it's awesome Another problem is the melee auto attack range, the character keep auto attacking while the player want to move the character away, this lead to abuse by the devs (Obsidian) in KotOR 2, placing mines before the enemy, they know the character will run through the mines because of the auto attack. Even if want to control each one, the other will auto attack and run through mines. The only way is using range weapon But i like D20 system, it only need some tweakings to make it smooth
  12. I don't think there's a game like Skyrim and Dark Souls, but with dice roll mechanic, isn't it? Mostly are hack and slash. Why not Obsidian make one? In KotOR 2, The Exile sometimes traveling alone in Nar Shadda (meeting The Exchange/Goto) and Korriban (the dark side ruin meeting Revan), in Trayus Academy, i don't see why it can't be done. Oh even the first phase of KotOR 2 is being alone
  13. Expecting Skyrim-esque out of a crowd funded project is ridiculous. You do realize these huge open world games cost 10's of millions of dollars to make well enough to be worth doing, right? I don't think Obsidian wants to do anything that isn't going to be done right and at a high quality level. The 2D isometric style games are many times less expensive to do at a very high level. Especially if they already have the tech and a team ramped up on said tech and processes. The beauty of Pillars is that it's modernized/stylized take on a genre we played the hell out of back in the day. It has appeal to a wide audience without being watered down. It may be 2D (2.5D really?), but that doesn't mean it's not a freaking gorgeous game. Don't have to be exactly like Skyrim, i don't mind an open world with KotOR 2 graphic, "Skyrim" is just a popular analogy, i could say Oblivion or Morrowind. What important is it have Dark Souls eerie and creepy environment, with dice roll game mechanic. Obsidian have done it right in KotOR 2, sure if given time and planning, Obsidian can make a very large and detailed world using KotOR 2 engine.
  14. Dark Souls the first story theme actually similar to Skyrim and Dragon Age : Origin, the world is about to end, the chosen one postpone it or let it end. What makes the different is the monster we face. And that's visual make up making the those games are different game. But people love them. In Skyrim, it is actually a "dragon apocalypse", it just replacing zombie with dragon, in Dragon Age : Origin, the zombie being replaced with Darkspawn. The main character is the chosen one who postponed the world end, the world should ended because of the apocalypse but the chosen one manage to postponed it to another time. That's cliche, but people love it, because people love cliche. It is just how the cliche being presented makes all the difference. As for game mechanic, i my self don't really like FPS games, i liked dice rolling mechanic such as in Dragon Age : Origin and KotOR. I don't like to fail because of my poor reflex, it is fine if i fail because of my poor build. If Skyrim and Dark Souls are dice rolling games then it is perfect for me. Maybe Obsidian can make such game....single player game with open world like Skyrim and environment like Dark Souls but with dice rolling game mechanic.
  15. Yes and they should add Nazis too ,killing Nazis is also cool an they should also add LAZORS!!1 and jet packs. The zombie "genre" is saturated and full of cheap and repeated cliches . And yes ,they laughed about that in South park the stick of truth so I am pretty sure that they won't make another lame zombie game. I am not sure what the chances are that such a game will will be funded but I do want a space exploration/sand box game with ship upgrade system and ship to ship battle mechanics like Star control 2/3 ,Space rangers:rise of the dominators (which is one of the most underrated games ever created a must buy for anyone who likes this genre) and some of Sierras' old stuff. People love cliches, just admit it, we see cliches everywhere and we enjoyed it, we live on cliches, we succumb to cliches, what is the meaning of a an art and entertainment without cliches? Space explorations are also full of cliches, you will see another Halo, Star Craft, Mass Effect, Unreal, Star Wars....all are based on the same cliches. What i am suggesting is ancient-medieval zombie apocalypse, yes the theme is cliche but what makes it's different is the time set up, the environment, the story, even so it is a zombie apocalypse it will not be the same with Resident Evil, The Walking Dead, World War Z...because it have different package Look at Dark Souls, literally it is a zombie apocalypse, you meet zombies the very first time you play at the Nothern Asylum...and those NPCs at Firelink they are all...zombies...the Undead. You yourself is a zombie. But then when you go further into the game, you realize there is a story behind everything you meet along the way...the story is cliche, but you won't feel it, because the environment and everything I don't say Dark Souls is good, the game suck actually But what i mean is people love it, because of the reasons i listed above
  16. Yeah, but mostly those games are of modern era where you use guns, the survival factor is different if it's in medieval era. How we want to survive a zombie apocalypse without guns? There was a Kickstarter similar to what you are describing called Dead Crusade. It didn't generate enough interest and was cancelled after 15 days. I suspect a game with this theme likely wouldn't generate enough financial return to justify the investment. Really? But from what i see on the net, zombie apocalypse theme is very popular, that is why zombie apocalypse games and movies are still relevant. But maybe gamers on games forums are just being picky and minority..... From what i know, people love zombie apocalypse because of i. it's dark nature and environment - it is a creepy demonic world where we must survive ii. emotional value - some zombies are crelated to main character iii. a world without law - everything justified by "i need to survive", the only thing stop you going too far is your own morality iv. mystery - surely there is a cause of the madness, want to find it out v. the feeling of being a survivor - you are a special one because you don't become a zombie, just don't get bitten by zombies vi. friendship is magic - everyone else are zombies, so your company is the only ones you can talk to, if they are not crazy vii. searching for hope - maybe there are other survivors, want to find them and bring them together to start a new life
  17. Yeah, but mostly those games are of modern era where you use guns, the survival factor is different if it's in medieval era. How we want to survive a zombie apocalypse without guns?
  18. Why? Most medieval fantasy will add up "undead zombies" as enemy, so why not just make it deeper with zombie apocalypse? Just tell me which medieval fantasy have no undead? All have undead. But they are just undead zombies risen i. because they just want to attack you for no reason ii. because evil mages or demons rise them up iii. because the place is cursed and/or disturbed by you iv. because you rise them yourself as a mage We never see a real ancient-medieval fantasy zombie apocalypse games
  19. How about making a zombie apocalypse theme, but in medieval or ancient era? There are a lot of modern zombie apocalypse, but we never see medieval and ancient era of zombie apocalypse. Dark Souls the first have a bit of medieval zombie apocalypse and i like that. It is just that Dark Souls is action oriented, just kill kill kill die die die all the way, if it's have mix of Resident Evil element it would be great In most modern zombie apocalypse theme, it is all about survival usually in towns, cities, now just imagine it is an ancient towns and cities...and modern zombies are usually unarmed and slow, now imagine zombies with swords and axes wearing armor... In modern zombie apocalypse we rarely see zombie animals other than dogs...now in ancient-medieval time horses are common, so there should be zombie horses...
  20. What about the paradox of "alien invasion" genre? Human is the alien invading some planet. We can play as a total conqueror, or try to establish peace with the local inhabitants while maintaining our interests, or we sided with with the local against our own people. That sound like Avatar isn't it? But actually it is refreshing. Usually stories in games is about outside or "alien" threat and how we the original inhabitant (usually human) deal with it...this premise is true to DA:O, Mass Effect, TES :Oblivion, TES:Skyrim, and numerous of games. Zombie apocalypse also belong here. So why not make a paradox, we are the "monster" instead of the victim? As we can see, our history also full of it actually...there are conquerors in the past, but epic stories usually about the people who defend against the conquerors, not the conquerors themselves.
  21. That's exactly how the High Dragon fight went in DA2. To make matters worse, every so often it would fly away to an unreachable perch and spit fireballs at you, while summoning smaller dragons to harass you. Laidlaw clearly doesn't understand the difference between creating an encounter that challenges the player's skills versus one that merely challenges his patience. Hell, when people called DA2's combat "dumbed down" he flippantly dismissed this criticism by suggesting people play on "hard," which does nothing but drag the experience out further. If anything, DA:I proves that BioWare didn't understand the criticism of DA2 except on the shallowest level. They understand, but they choose to ignore For me dragons in DA:O is far more enjoyable and less frustrating, the high dragon at Andraste Temple at least flew around and have better AI. Even Flemeth is fine she just cannot fly because of the map is too small. Although Archdemon is easy, it is because we are already at high level and we got back ups. In DA2 the high dragon following Archdemon tactic, fighting for sometime, then flew to unreachable spot and call minions. The difference is it doesn't feel grant like the Archdemon. And in DA2 not only the dragon do that, most bosses and Meredith also do that. It just copy and paste It is simple, they just lazy
  22. I always waiting for realistic sword fighting RPG, i am bored with "magical special effects" given to warriors and rogues in most games, DA:O have a decent sword fighting for warriors and rogues although still have some magical effects given, and DA become worsen in the sequels with Japanese anime magical moves. That is why i like Oblivion and Skyrim even though it's FPS mechanic, because i can create pure warrior and rogue class. Even though i do love hybrid classes, but i prefer a warrior being a warrior without any magical effects if i want to play as a warrior
  23. I liked dark music...
  24. KotOR 2 is actually far superior than KotOR in the writing and plot, but like you said it have poor execution, there are holes everywhere. I don't think time is an excuse KotOR 2 implement many new unneeded things such as blowing hairs, blowing robes, crafting mechanic, character progression mechanic and DnD magic, if they know there's not enough time why waste them in making these things? These new things end up insignificant KotOR is actually the standard Bioware trope with a twist, the way the game handle the story is not far different with DA:O, it just that DA:O is more complex and many content than KotOR. main character going through origin phase, then something big happen, then going to places to reach objectives, then final battle. Both KotOR and DA:O have this cliche While KotOR 2 is made by Obsidian so the way the story goes is different, still the character going to places but really the first time i play i don't see any point in going to those places, for what? But because of the game demand i go then i go. It is because of the choice, I don't have a motivation to seek out the surviving Jedis, no motivation on gaining their help or revenge, none at all. The game fail to give me the motivation. That what make it different with KotOR where Bioware at that time is excellent in giving the player a motivation. So when playing KotOR 2 to the end, i become like most players asking "what the hell happned?". Truly i still don't understand how Bao Dur isn't in the party anymore, and why that floating thing must do what it do at Malachor, i don't understand the whole plot, and i don't understand the Goto plot either, why he want to attack the floating orb? Even with TSLRCM i still don't understand. Even TSLRCM restore HK-47 plot, it's good and funny the first time, but replaying it over and over it lost it's charm, it just a quest we must going though in order to proceed, the same thing happen each time, kill those droids and that's all.
