Cds are so fragile...
lost my manual on the first day I bought the game.. :"> but I like the idea! I had to buy an entirely new copy of the game last time I broke the cd.. not that I did mind you .. but I would've had to if I wanted the game.. But companies should do like Stardock with Dread Lords - where you can download the game for free once you've bought it! now that's service!

KotoR 3: Ideas, Suggestions, Discussion
Make a "KOTOR News" thread - It would be virtually impossible to split it .. since the mods would have to track through alle the pages and move posts individually.. you can quote the ones you find worthy.. why complain about it when you can do it yourself?

Cds are so fragile...
isn't it always the store that takes care of these things? and don't they usually say that it's your own fault and then refuse to do anything? .. that's my experiance at least...

Anyone watch SG1 or SG Atlantis
I still respect you though.. never said otherwise (fyi) .. (and if I didn't, I wouldn't even be discussing with you) But no, we don't see eye to eye, clearly.. the "open-minded"card was played because I felt that would make you rethink what you thought - as I felt you were going on somewhat of a rant rather than critizism.. but sure, that seems like an impressive list - says nothing about what you think or how you think though.. My friends listen to my advise as well - but that says more about them than me.. ^_^

Anyone watch SG1 or SG Atlantis
I would leave it too if Aliens appear .. especially if it's badly written .. of course, if they just come across some semi-intelligent life on a remote planet, I would have no problem with it. Because, while I can't somewhat accept that they speak english, I wouldn't find it distasteful that Aliens do too .. not in this show. But I think there's still a lot to discover in the direction the show has gone so far (have only seen season 1&2 so far though).

Hungarian Events
most here in Denmark are concerned .. but few know what to do.. I think we are waiting for you to resolve what you can .. while it would probably be the most wise action to force you president of the "throne" with international pressure .. I believe most European politicians are afraid of the reprecussion of that - you are still a democracy and as such it's hard to politically gather support for any actions .. probably because we still believe it's best you handle this yourselves .. every early democracy will have it's hardships (and of course older ones will as well)- but how they prevails tells alot about how they view liberty and the rights of both enemies (domestic and abroad) and citizen.

Anyone watch SG1 or SG Atlantis
I don't think you've watched BSG with an openmind (although that would probably depress you more since it's even worse once you dig down through the waste of human deprevation) .. but this show is actually about the nature of humanity - asking the simple question - why should we survive? It's also a show that looks very seriously at human flaws and somehwat celebrates them, since it is our flaws that enables us to surpass ourselves.. it is the fact that we sin, cry, despair and fail, that makes it even more glorious when we rise to the challenge in spite of our shortcomings .. and the only reason that we rise is because - essentially it would be suicide not to.. But now it's a discussion of something more than just entertainment.. it's a question of what we want to believe in - and why... I don't need a posterboy with a few cracks in the facade - that depresses me - because few are like that (very very few) - and it's an unrealistic ideal - we are above, and below, heroes these days .. it's time we face the truth and start dealing with reality instead of mellowing in idealistic and unrealistic selfglorification.. and maybe alot of people can't handle that, which makes me sad - fairytails are for kids.. Don't be naive just because it's easier .. I understand why some need to escape - and why some can't .. but a choice needs to made and questions asked.. what do I believe in? what will sustain me when reality consumes all the fairytales that kept me warm? I say.. even if the glass is half-empty - at least it's not empty.. yet...

Anyone watch SG1 or SG Atlantis
then it's our imagination that is lacking .. although I would argue that it's our will to face reality .. I don't use these things to escape - only to enrich .. which is why I hardly watch TV anymore.. There's plenty of things that makes me forget already..

What's so bad about the dark side anyway?
maybe those who are corrupted by the force is actually just corrupted by themselves.. as they gain more power they get more afraid of losing it, and greedy .. more emotional as that increases their power - and all of a sudden, they are completly lost in themselves.. and the darker parts of human natur.. (at least darker in SW terminology) When it comes to the physical manifestation my theory falls short.. as this is, to some degree, a clear sign of The Force's ability to corrupt. But in the whole of the SW universe you have seen Grey Jedis who, while still following their emotions, does not succumbed to total egoism.

What's so bad about the dark side anyway?
well - it did spin off an interesting discussion (imo) - so even if it wasn't what you intended, it still served a purpose..

Anyone watch SG1 or SG Atlantis
Yeah I'm personally really tired of happy endings.. and let's face it BSG is still a happy ending show compared to reality! I like it when something questions my moral, my way of thinking and generally forces me to take a stand instead of just entertaining me .. TV is just as good a media for Drama as theatres imo, since it can do things theatres can't - create entire worlds and sets in full 3D ..

Anyone watch SG1 or SG Atlantis
I used to alot .. watched SG-1 all the way to season 7 and Stargate Atlantis season 1 .. but then I lost interest - the story is repetitive and badly written, it has imho opinion outlived it self.. it's time to wrap it up! But I thought that Richard D. Anderson was pretty good .. he made the show a little less serious (in a good way) and made the characters seem more alive.. But it was BSG that made me turn away .. it outshines SG/A in every way and is by far the best Sci-fi show I've ever seen!

Memory deletion drug...
alot of people are already taking drugs with some pretty extensive sideeffects.. in the end it's about choosing the lesser of two evils.
-
What's so bad about the dark side anyway?
I absolutly agree.. Jedis are selfsacrifising and pacifistic - like any good Christian is supposed to be.. and the evils in SW are like the evils in Christianity - Greed, selfishness, lust for power and the disbelief of established authority and creed..
-
What's so bad about the dark side anyway?
and what's the point - of pointing that out? - which was my question.. again methods are inert - it's how you use them that that determins turns the wheels of morality and perception (along with the context).. if I pull a gun and kill some random person it would be considered evil .. but if I killed someone who just raped a 10 year old girl - I imagine a whole lot of people would consider it just - even if, from a perspective of common morality, it's wrong to kill! the situation is essentially the same - I kill a person .. but the context determins the perspective .. DN just pointed out that the gun itself is not evil.. I'm just wondering why that was worth pointing out?
-
What's so bad about the dark side anyway?
let's not argue methods .. "Good" people toture as well .. they kill as well and equally hurt - the tools of war, death and misery is used on all fronts.. and we are still arguing Christian morality .. as in self-sacrifice = good .. and using this terminology we are all bad/evil sinners.. one of the real question (imo) is .. does the end justify the means? --- I kinda agree with you Nightshade .. but I don't understand your point - SW is not some universal truth, the characters are as black/white as the universe they inhabit.. they are evil and good because they are constructed that way.. your perception is just as false as that which you attack.. since you are trying to cramp reality* into SW - where it doesn't belong.. (* meaning your reality)
