  1. They weren't disputing the fact, the were merely explaining what the difference was.
  2. I have no problem with the first link either - there's a very real reason behind that law, prohibiting everyone from serving alcohol. The second one seems odd, but the police did ask a doctor for advice, and followed it.. so I would say the blame rests with the doctor if it's considered wrong.
  3. Isn't it a common thing that most of these developers make it sound like they've invented the wheel... every time they make a game? I especially loved the comment "this is going to be the biggest and most ambitious project we've ever made!!" - didn't they say the exact same thing about the KOTOR MMO? how can both titles, being made at the same time, be the biggest and most ambitious title?
  4. In Bruges gotta say it suprised me alot - very serious and very funny at the same time. I really recommend it! I just saw QoS. It was boring. Literally Bond can't go anywhere without everyone he goes to see dying. He doesn't spy, he has no gadgets, his car is a normal car, he's not suave, he doesn't even drink a martini. The most bondish moment was at the very end. but I won't spoil that. and to me there was only one death that really made sense. It's like the makers of the film looked at what the critics liked about Casino Royal and then decided to take those pieces they liked (namely the more grounded approach, the bond that is new on the job and doesn't know how to get through every situation) and go WAYYYY over the mark in how they did the next one. Instead of the pace of the movie being that of a normal spy movie (which is fairly slow) or even a previous bond flick (faster but not at the tempo of say, transformers) the makers took the movie and started at mach 1 and didn't slow down. I honestly liked a MI6 agent better than I liked bonds girlfriend. the Operative actually tried to fit into her cover. So. Basically in a nutshell they took the standard bond flick, stripped out all the characteristics of a bond film, and made a movie about a thug who gets around. Well I think it made sense - I understand where you're getting at, but he was on a quest for revenge and as such got a little carried away in his bloodlust. I felt it made good sense when you view as the "middle" of a triology, trying to portray how Bond became the Bond we know.
  5. Great screenshot. I wonder if having a high spot actually creates encounters, I think it might.
  6. I know.. I've tried that in quite a few games as well, where the difficulty was easy all the way through, but the last battle caught me by complete suprise - you might have to get a later savegame - becasue it seems like you won't stand much of a chance. Funny last post though.
  7. I summoned a bunch of elementals to act as meat shields, while hitting the two big snakes with all the high level damage spells I could. It took quite a while - and I had to resurrect most of my fighters 2-3 times each, I brought alot of scrolls.. Also I keep hitting them with dispel every 5 minutes or so, to take away their buffs. But it was a very tough fight, even on easy I had to try about 5 times before I won. What level are you? and who's in your party?
  8. Also the merchant in Port Llast will give you access to some pretty high level gear because of the feat "blessing of waukeen" (which you recive in the beginning of the game I think?) But it's also quite easy to craft a +3 weapon.
  9. I tried having about 6 groups hunt me at once - it was quite annoyin to fight off wave after wave of unimportant orcs and bandits (with long loading screens in between). So I can understand that you would be frustrated to have the entire game be like that. Do you have a person with a high survival, spot, hide and move silently in your party? Make this person the lead on the overland map, because that will keep you away from many of those encounters..
  10. What? No, no matter what path Revan chose it was always to stop the True Sith. As Sith Lord he knew they would come and was preparing the galaxy for the coming war. He realized that the republic was too weak to face the threat. Kreia, the Disciple and GO-TO all hint at this, by telling you how Revan left key military factories and fortified planets intact - he knew there wouldn't be time to rebuild. Kreia even goes so far to hint that Revan chose to fall and sacrifice himself to the dark side to ultimately save the galaxy from the True Sith.
  11. Right click and hold, it brings up the command menu - there you can choose "talk to".
  12. I think you are talking about another game?
  13. Sure - I'll add it too my first posts. But please add any encounters you've found, because I only saw a handful.
  14. It's been too long since I've played it, I can't remember if there was/is a bug with the Sith Marauder class.
  15. I thought this was actually quite hilarious.. Sarah Palin set to Piana "I had always thought there was something a little avant-garde about her answers."
  16. I liked that actually - since it was one of the only challenging areas. Because let's face, even on Korriban you just mow through everyone. (ok on my first playthrough I didn't - but that was because I made alot of mistakes in my build)
  17. Really depends on who makes the game if it gets done.. I think both Bioware and Obsidian could do something interesting, even if it didn't explicitly tie together those to arcs.
  18. You can have a great story, but what good is it if the novel is missing pages? Or, chapters are missing? Or, pages are ripped? Novel writters create great stories as well, but they are not in the game making business. Successful execution of game design and development is important to the overall gamming experience. What good is a story without a functioning game? Right? I'm not saying we should bash Obsidian, but I'm saying we should look at their overall success in game exectution, functionality, and quality. Obsidian is interested in inovation, but it hinders their ability to create a sucessfully polished game. There is an underlying problem here. And I'm saying that you are preaching to the choir. I just think people around here focus more on the things Obsidian do well - becaue what is a polished and beautiful book, if the content of that book is the creative equivalent of toiletpaper? Also, we are off topic. Why don't you make a thread about this issue, I'm sure you'll find that people agree with you.
  19. Plus - I was able to make some armor that was alot better than what they had on when I found them. Ungrateful goons the lot of them. Set me back nearly 100.000 gold pieces, I could've lived like a king for that.
  20. They also have a track record of making some of the most innovative stories. But yeah, I don't think you'll find anyone here who denies that these games came with bugs - I mean, most of us here are probably amongst those who played Obsidian's games the most, as such we probably also found and experienced more of the bugs than the average gamer.. That tells you alot too..
  21. It is burning already.. What with the gazillion suns and all.
  22. Priceless. Anywho - Revan was portrayed as a rather brilliant military leader, but if by dumbass you mean he was a jerk - I would probably say that he was a fair amount of both.
  23. Wasn't that confirmed by Obs at some point? I seem to remember that they had a much smaller team working on SoZ mostly due to budget restraints.
  24. I'll try that - I remember how much I feared them in BG2, but at least there's no Beholders around *shudders*.
  25. Arguing is fine, personal attacks are not. Let's not ruin this thread for everyone else. Ok?
