  2. They can only address issues they know exist, so I'm guessing some geezer flagged the youtube videos or games - arbitrary? Maybe, but I also think it's fair that they respond when they do become aware. It's meant to protect the symbol as it is now, so people don't start painting it on things in real life and endanger the actual medical personnel that use it. Laws can be inflexible, especially in cases like this with digital vs reality. But then again, I'd rather err on the side of caution here - and encourage people to simply not use it. But yeah, it's annoying when X gets away with it, but not Y, seems unfair.
  3. Well, I can understand them being a hardliner on this issue - even in trivial matters. It should be easy enough to make a symbol that looks like the Red Cross, so everyone gets what you're referring to.
  4. Old thread here. Batman Arkham Knight + a bit of Planetary Annihilation Titans

  8. Old thread here Last posts Only the xbone afaik. Eh, only games from the store I give a toss about are the Forza ones, because good racing games seem to have this tendency to be console exclusive... "You know, there's going to be sex, drugs, rock-n-roll... chips, dips, chains, whips... You know, your basic high school orgy type of thing. I mean, uh, I'm not talking candlewax on the nipples, or witchcraft or anything like that, no, no, no. Just a couple of hundred kids running around in their underwear, acting like complete animals." -- Weird Science
  9. Closed due to length. New thread here.
  10. I have both.. And it's an even more awesome game with the Fsopen project. You can play the first game in the 2nd game's engine too.
  11. Hah, gotta love the top comment "Wow! I got an A* on my Roadman A-Level exam. Thanks Korean Billy!" Is this a joke tough.. or is he actually straight-faced going through street slang like it's a language class?
  12. Having lived in Paris and traveled quite extensively in France, I think that's bull**** to be honest.. It was true 15 years ago sure, but today all of them speak English fairly well, are interested in the world beyond their own country. Parisians can tend to be uptight, much in the same way Londoners can - but that's about it.
  13. I'd recommend Poland in the spring.. Krakow (south) is extremely charming. Poland offers a very concentrated central European experience, you have the slavic traditions mixed with the germanic. Churches, castles, metropolitan areas, beautiful nature - and best of all, the service is great and everything is cheap. And they drink like the Irish/Scandinavian..
  14. Very plausible? Only in so far as one believes the classical Hollywood portrayal of mental illness. I've worked for years in psychiatry and I've never heard of or seen anything that even closely resembled the family or protagonist. Also, in what way did the narrative hold together? Even when 'adjusting' for the 'unreliable narrator', it was painfully obvious that the writers had gone to the 'Lost' school of plotline coherence..
  15. It completly falls apart in the next episodes. I was pretty dissapointed and wish I'd ditched it around episode 6.
  16. This is such an ingrained mentality in your culture, that it doesn't really make sense to argue against - and it's the unique quality of American and English culture.. As for a germanic however, the answer to that question is very obvious. It HAS been fixed for the most part, what stood in the way of an individuals success, was far too often systemic challenges. Now the system, for the most part, works for the individual, rather than against him - and thus we have an empowered middleclass and much more equality.
  17. That's an unfair comparison imo, it would be more like a starving man in a jungle - everything seems edible sure enough and many things seem familiar, but take the wrong plant and not only are you not getting any nutrition, it could kill you.
  18. The obstacle is not accessibility. Ironically it actually requires pretty extensive information gathering skills to acquire new skills on your own. How do you qualify information? Time investments in 'internet knowledge' may well be useless, if you cannot critically asses what you learn. And found the study, was OECD not DK, https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2016/07/rich-and-poor-teenagers-spend-a-similar-amount-of-time-online-so-why-aren-t-we-closing-the-digital-divide?utm_content=buffer45b99&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer As the article says “They may not have the knowledge or skills required to turn online opportunities into real opportunities,”
  19. A recent study was released here recently, on this issue in fact, or rather tangent to it. It was a study on how people used the internet - and showed that self-acquired knowledge and 'autodidactism' was still very much a product of social class. Poor people would predominately use the internet for entertainment and to reaffirm pre-taught information/bias, whereas those of 'higher social standing' were much more likely to use the internet to seek new information. But autodidactism, in some form, is already becoming the rule rather than the norm. To the point that many degrees these days, are more about learning how to aquire knowledge within a field, than actually imparting expert-knowledge onto students.
  20. Looks like you were ninjaed in the other thread Gorth you only got to be neighbour of the beast..
  21. Arkham Knight is a pretty good looking game... Scarecrow looks particularly menacing in this iteration.
  22. No, your game isn't borken. It takes a while to get a lightsaber. You can produce a different kind of matrix and lens at a workshop, but neither of these are what your 'partner' Bao-Dur are refering to, when he talks about what you need. The items you need will either be sold through vendors, or more likely, dropped when fighting and defeating lightsaber wielders. I'll be quite a few levels before you get your lightsaber and the items will be quest items (so not in your general inventory), most likely you won't have them all until after vising your 2nd planet, depending on how you do them. So a few hours of gaming more. There are several online guides on how to get a lightsaber as quickly as possible, so if that's a must for you, check them out. Things are greyed out, if you don't have the appropriate skill level to make certain items. Which why your companions can produce items you can not, often cheaper too, if they are more skilled. If you want your character to be the main producer of items, roll as a sentinel with high intelligence - as they get the most skills pr lvl
  23. Hmm, made we wonder, if Brucie here is just a disgruntled guy, trying to get his neighbour BruceVC killed by posing as him online
