Expanded Passive Abilities - To address feedback about the loss of Talents from PoE 1, we have added many more passive abilities to class trees and increased the number of abilities that single class characters receive at each power level (see below). Single Class characters gain 2 abilities at PL increase - All single class characters will gain 2 abilities every time they achieve a new power level. This change was made to address concerns that single class characters felt like they didn't have enough options at any given character level. It also allows characters to dip into passive abilities (which have been expanded considerably) more easily. Might/Resolve Change General Casting changes Shortened cast times of Very Slow and Slow Shortened Recovery of Slow Summon Weapon spells now Average cast This right here has me ecstatic and represents some of the best addressing of feedback that I've ever seen. Obsidian are really in a class of their own. For the time being I don't think there is much else for me to complain about.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - FREE WHITE HOUSE MONTAGE

RTS is dead due to the MOBA, sadly. Would be nice to have a 40k version of Arma :D I hope RTSs make a come back. I'm worried though that AoE4 won't do well. Basically SC3 is the next RTS I expect to perform well at all and that's probably still 10 years off if it ever happens. -
I literally don't see how any real change against the 2nd Amendment could be politically feasible, the amount of effort opposing sensible gun-laws compared to more serious matters certainly is a case of chasing the red herring.

The Weird, Random or Interesting Things That Fit Nowhere Else Thread

Amazon > Walmart any ****ing day. I'm a bit past my defending Google days (which ended before they dropped their "Don't Be Evil" motto,) but Amazon's reinvestment rates keep them in the clear for me. 'Tis the future. -
This thread series is more a lunch-table/locker-room/happy-hour topic of the hour sort of thread, where any dev tweet more or less leads the way until a topic is exhausted. I don't see the fuss about people just chatting it up for a bit. These threads are amongst the most self-correcting threads on this forum if you just wait.

As far as age is concerned, you can't really knock someone young for indignation, ignorance, or arrogance in the same way you can an adults. Of course many adults are worse, it's just that you can knock them for it in the fullest sense. The other thing to realize is that an outstanding youth often pales in comparison to the pragmatic wisdom that an outstanding adult develops. I wish more people that agree with David Hogg in the general sense, reach out to him to him and use the chance to inject some pragmatism into the dialogue. Because Hogg represents what most of the American youth is like, and if they can see an adult helping to direct the frustration down to the level of actionable tasks, then I think we can move beyond this whole spinning of wheels that the media prefers to revel in. Modern political movements largely revolve around elective revolutions which either results in incompetent people too strident to do any good, or too pragmatic to not be later burned by an idealistic base. If the pragmatic side of politics was more visible out in the media I think people would be less anxious and desperate in their approach. The mass walks that we see these days are more than anything a means of bypassing the failures of media, but then the irony seeps back in when most people only see those protests through the very same media.

Hogg represent the fear and uncertainty that comes over the weak and helpless. He is young, not independent, hasn't really studied the history of how many laws came to be and the reality of policy quagmires. I think it's clear he is an exposed nerve after what he went through, a bit drunk off the notoriety, and is trying to turn himself into a rallying point with his identity as a student victim. It's also clear that he is not a crisis-actor, but media is certainly editing how he is framed and is playing him like a trump card.

Apparently Pillars1 had like 5 or so battle themes. In my mind there was only one, and I was finally corrected on the forums. I think a lot of the battle music just felt like different sections or movements to the same piece. It's a lot better than some jrps which tend to use the same single song every time. I certainly though battle music could be handled better since it's such a stark transition and typically the music plays out the same every time. More dynamism would be great but I'm not sure how possible that would be given Obsidian's resources. I wonder if any of the battle themes would return. All fresh songs would give Deadfire more of an identity, on the other hand you'd get more diversity by including both games battles themes and you'd have some continuity of theme going on. I think they should make the battle theme starts more subtle, less dramatic, and only get very intense later if the battle last long enough. Right now it feels like whenever you see any enemy, it just burst into some dramatic music, even when you are just dealing with some weaklings. Yeah, that's a large part of the issue. It's especially weird if you have pause-on-combat set because then it get's all hype while nothing is happening, then finally chills out by the time you've issued up all your attacks. I don't hate the themes, but they are sometimes too frantic for a game where I'm pausing and taking my time. With the especially the beginning being jarring. On revisit though they use the varying themes to good effects depending on what type of encounter you've befelled.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - FREE WHITE HOUSE MONTAGE

I remember highly anticipating Far Cry 2 for months. The idea of setting fire to a field and letting it burn through a camp was compelling. Navigating with a paper map and compass was cool. I even liked the malaria component, I had to take on the responsibility to manage my health and deal with the consequences. All around a fascinating game with a compelling premise. What Far Cry is today is strange and surreal. I'm fine with other's being into it, but I struggle to find a less-compelling take on something that I should otherwise have interest in. I suppose part of the fun is having a sandbox with a unified theme that allows the player to sort of play a role of their choice, just how I got to do in 2. But the foundations of the series not only seem to not have progressed much, but in some ways regressed. AC seems to be gearing up for a new era, although I feel a lot more work still needs to be done technically and game-mechanically. Perhaps it's time for Ubisoft to do the same with Far Cry. As of now the only thing that Ubisoft is working on that I have a hint of is Beyond Good and Evil 2. Which I hope is more like activity dense open-world Ratchet & Clank game, and less just random multi-player generative game play systems with some loose narrative objectives. But given the nature of that games development history I feel too much of it's execution will be lost to getting it's technical foundation off the ground that it won't actually do enough compelling. -
Just another charlatan interest group feigning new-age ignorance to gouge the system. I find it hard to believe that people don't know better.

I really like the lulling themes that rpgs use for countryside settings, like So I think Pillars1's score matched it's setting very well. I would want Deadfire's to also be theme appropriate. So I'm expecting the classical influences to be less continental and more that of trade nations, Italy over Austria for example. I think we'll be getting more indigenous inspired themes as well. I do really want string quartet on my ship now that I think of it. Could be the equivalent of a jukebox or radio of Fallout.
