No. I was implicitly referring to a subset of racists who would happen to be white and would spin a narrative of FUD out of what are currently insufficient findings. I'd rather have a crisp view of the situation. The fact that there are racists who aren't white is not a new or interesting fact to me, and doesn't continually need proving.

I tried asking about the situation a bit back. Was curious to know his take. I'm skeptical that anything close to a white genocide is actually coming and further if it was I'd expect the rest of the western world to step in. But given the state of the west maybe it wouldn't these days. Just look at Myanmar. Iraq wouldn't have been touched if the Bush administration didn't have old business and the kurds would be worse of today. Now even look at Palestine. Land reform also is rarely successful, so that's another whole can of worms. Still, I'm still skeptical about reports because it's the perfect mental masturbatory nightmare that racists could use to fuel their agenda. So far I only have a few clues as they have come through Reuters.

I was starting to feel the same myself. Not that I'm not still interested, but if there is some latent amount of effort that still needs expended, then I think it's becoming in short order.

Dark elements allow you to root the hero better. Every child should see Jaws before going to the beach. How else will you appreciate the shark free waters if you don't know the villain was taken down?

I really liked The Shape of Water. I think the most interesting part of the movie though was the culture of the research lab. Both of the janitorial staff, the Director, the researchers. Just how it was so stepped in war-time hysteria, how each person was trying to pursue their vision of life outside of work. How those life values then played out at work. The whole romance plot-line and sci-fi always seemed more embedded in this large commentary. Which included the Russians, etc. Then off course there was the artistic language of the film which was largely retro-neuvo. It's the only best picture nomination that I've seen however.

The Outer Worlds Trademarks (Obsidian's AAA RPG?)
injurai replied to UrbaNebula's topic in Obsidian General
Well they certainly didn't have to develop everything from scratch, they build on top of what Bethesda had done. So perhaps that was merely a AA title. After all the ranking has to do with budgets and production scale, not exactly final product. -

That's really good, except there is a bit too much Neil Patrick Harris in there. -
Sadly I think the days of dedicated servers are going away. Companies want to create a standardized experience that they can control. They also want to control any sort of fun novel experience that server admins might conjure up. Unfortunately, companies haven't figured out a way to offer players freedom of association. So your stuck playing with people who have a very different goal than you when they sit down at their computer.

The amount of attractive woman that are into gaming is immense. I find they unabashedly cling to attractive female characters and pretty things more so than even the dudes who equally enjoy those things. As long as the character isn't the archetypal courtisan, then any level of attractiveness that would be appropriate in a semi-casual environment seems to be embraced. Those sorts of characters are a point of identification, and it's funny when some people pretend that pretty woman don't exist. The guys just seem to put enough distance to maintain plausible deniability, because enjoying digital woman is a point of shame. Anyways, I don't think the stock portraits are unattractive either. They fit better with a party that is either out camping or on the high seas most of the time. -
