    It's a village-y place by Epping Forest in England, I had the British Telecom guy come out (don't use them they're crap - messed up everything) and he said the supply is almost 6km from the cabinet, he's only heard of most being 3-4km or so. I expect it's down to the privately owned land and farmers unwilling to lose the square area required for mainetnance of underground services, or masts and towers - so the telephone supply cables just spannnnnn these huge distances. Have heard the council might makes some changes, but they might prioritize actual street lights first - people never believe me when I say it can get almost pitch black at 4pm during the winter. I wouldn't relly be able to use a friend - I'm still firmly in the closet about being a gamer, I'd be better of telling my mates I've got 8-10gb of pornography to download. They should start a support group for people in my situation. That's weird giving the proximity to Epping to London. Pretty spooky place to be at night though, have driven through there a few times. Honestly though you're gonna have to come out to your friends - gaming seems a pretty normal thing for most people to do even in chavvy Essex.

    Love the game a lot, it's the experience I've been waiting for since Baldur's Gate 2 and Dragon Age Origins. However I'm finding it hard to finish Act 3 and get to the end of the game...because there's very few set pieces in the game, and an abundance of trash mobs. You know, the groups of spectres, shades and similar enemies littering the game? Doing the Burial Isle is so tedious just because you can't move for having trash mobs thrown on you. I was hoping for more set piece battles against mages, varied parties etc. It is just a bit dull fighting spectres for 9 fights in a row and I'm wondering if anyone else had the same thought, and asking of The White March is any better in that respect?

    True but if they're busy pressing copies to go out in stores you think they'd be able to allocate a section of the game copies for people who had paid for their goods many many months ago.

    Paradox updated me on the situation. Sadly it appears our games have not even been manufactured yet and we don't be getting the game until the discs are actually made, which could be today or could be in a months time.

    The whole poll they had to decide when to send game discs out was essentially pointless because it has been so long now. It is a shame that the whole project has been good except for complete lack of communication as to when backers are getting their products and keys. Paradox are dealing with my issue now anyway. Giving them til Wednesday then will start poking them with emails.

    I was willing to give them a benefit of the doubt but it has been a month now so I am concerned I haven't got my product, especially if it was a limited run of boxed copies. Hopefully this will be sorted out soon. Keep bumping the thread guys and hopefully the developers will see it and we can get an answer.

    I feel like it will be better to compare the games when we get a sequel to PoE with more high level and complex gameplay. To weigh in for me, yes it is better than BG1, but not better than 2. It needs more content density and atmosphere in the world to top 2, however it's better in every single way compared to BG1.

    Over a month since release and it's still on "Shipping Soon" so I guess it's time to complain to Paradox.

    Have people in the EU started getting their physical goodies then? I am in the UK but still nothing to be seen

    When I played Act 1 I thought that Raedric's Hold was going to be our stronghold. I had grown attached to Gilded Vale and it had residents we knew It was a bit of a disappointment when we were given Caed Nua which was just a bit of a random ruin we find and immediately leave.

    Yeah this is true. I enjoy using my wizard and priest spells in normal combat. However for normal mobs I don't use them, and tend to just wait to use them for the tough set piece or boss encounters. This isn't fun. I've gone through several entire dungeons now (playing on Normal) without using any rests or spells or consumables because I'm waiting for the big boss battle to come, and it doesn't. This is a shame, because it promotes my most hated thing in RPGs which is saving everything to the end. It's an issue enough with potions, but now I'm doing it for abilities and spells and camping equipment. I get why the game system is there and what the point of it is, it's just not great because I absolutely hate hoarding things because I might "need them later" so I never end up using them!

    There wasn't a vote on this. The vote was if they should send the disks for the physical copy separately to the manuals and box so backers could get the physical game disk on Day 1, or wait to send everything off at once. The former option was decided but none of us have our physical copy get (in Europe at least) so it was a bit of a failure sadly.

    1. It's not transphobic. It's not offensive at all. It's fiction. The mental gymnastics required to actually take offense at this are quite astonishing. Please don't pander to these people who get offended easily at everything. 2. If Obsidian takes it out of the game, I expect the backer who pledged for this reward to be fully refunded for the money they backed to Project Eternity.

    Personally my game is unplayable on my integrated graphics which is a shame, so I'm going to have to wait until Monday (when my GTX970 arrives) to play. It's just weird because I'm playing The Witcher 1 at the same time and I have zero problems running that even though it's a fully 3D game. Would play on my laptop but the game constantly crashes for some reason so I've just gotta hang on til Monday I guess.

    I switched playing to my laptop (which has a better GPU) from my desktop and got past the scene. I think it might have to do with sounds and animations firing on time.

    When you played Baldur's Gate 2 and new how tough **** was going to be because of what disc you were on. Disc 2 - manageable Disc 3 - getting a bit tough Disc 4 - super HIGH LEVEL CONTENT

    This is also true for The Witcher 3, which is the game that is made by the people running GOG. Preloading has never been the standard and it has never been the standard that you could definitely play a large game on release, especially if you have slow download speed. You keep talking about this as if it's some kind of valid expectation, and it isn't. By the way, I started the download this morning, then left for work. (Told the computer to shut itself down automatically.) After getting my key I practically had a whole day to download it. I don't think this was "cutting it close". But yeah, enough of that. Let's rather focus on being excited for tomorrow's release! Hopefully GoG Galaxy will be out for TW3. I've personally got a physical copy of the game for the goodies (so might not have the game on release at all) but might be able to get one with a new GPU I'm planning on buying (hopefully a Steam copy) but it does suck that only Origin and Steam can offer preloading. I personally woke up really early today (like 10 to 6 early) so I had time to grab my key and set the download going so it was complete by 2pm (as it was going at non-peak times so was pretty quick) but other people might not be as lucky as me or have the same living conditions like being able to leave a computer on or whatever. Either way I'm sure if there's another Kickstarter for a future Eternity game everyone will have learned from their mistakes and the preload and keys can be offered further in advance. It's a learning process for everyone involved.

    The pre-load is complete! hooray, now just got a day of work tomorrow to go and then I can play! Shame the last few steps of the road were very rocky, I definitely think Obsidian can learn from release since they cut it veeeeery close and GOG users might not get to play the game the day it is released depending on download speed, but at the moment i'm just reading through the manual and getting STOKED for tomorrow evening!
