Iirc KOTOR's supposed to be a few k years before the movies. Many things are familiar but trends do change (or regress in this case). Consider our own world as an example on how weapon trends have radically changed.

^It's mostly magic, but it also has something to do with the sun and the radius of the earth.

The $3k dowry really is hideously expensive considering the average wages earned.

I think there were massive rallies around Spain and foreign ministers have sent their condolences. At the moment I don't think they're certain who did it (ETA or foreign terrorists) though.

Coffee is teh cool but I didn't know it was explosive

Nice dodge.

You could force Carth to strip with Force Persuade, but that would lead to the Dark Side.

Heh, I don't know if Uriel considered help from the internet a few thousand years ago I wonder what sort of questions he's ask now that we're incapable of answering, given our current understanding.

Who were your favorite characters in KotOR?

To me the mini-games were okay, sometimes addictive like Pazaak. They weren't integeral to the main story, so if a player didn't like them they could just ignore them. The problem as far as the mini-games was making the starship shootout on board the Hawk compulsory to the continuation of the game. Some players couldn't cope and understandably they were upset when they couldn't progress. Other than that, there's not many significant things wrong IMO. Btw, put in DDR, Guitarfreaks or something as a minigame

As Ronald mentioned, nature's not random (that's why the Shakespeare-monkey sim's not the best example). According to evolution theory there's a form of auto-selection so it's not entirely random, so it's not all down to chaos. @Breakdancing negro: The claim that you can't disprove the existance of God doesn't prove the existance of God. Craftman's just pointing that out, although he does believe in the existance of God. Both sides are at an impasse.

I think it really depends on the type and game setting. If it was some futuristic or cyberpunk thing then maybe some industrial or hard rock, metal etc might work.

1) Heck, they used to run around wildly with pants on their heads at BIS, but besides that I don't think it should matter that much. Nowadays more than most times, gender matters less.

My 2 cents: DDR/Rhythemania (could include instruments etc) would make a kick ass minigame. Imagine challenging another at a cantina and the crowd reacts. It's probably the closest you can get to dancing/playing instruments requiring skill in games. Just not sure how the keyboard/gamepad would stand up to it, and if the keyboard could take imput from two or more keys simultaneously. Heck, if you challenged Malak to Pazaak at the final confrontation he would have laughed it off, but if you challenged him to Rhythemania drums or guitar, the both of you would have went out in style while the Republic blasted the both of you to dust.

The what was wrong with "delaware I" thread

How do you know God is the reason there's a universe? How can you be so dismissive of people who don't "know" that "fact"? How can you "know" Jesus died for our sins? I know the Bible better than most religious people I've met - it's a big history/philosophy/law/myth/poetry book as far as I'm concerned, just like the Koran or the Vedas or the Torah. How can you get past the fact that if we were born in India, we'd (probably) think cows were holy? None of this is knowable. In fact, if you have to "know" it to believe it, maybe you don't have enough faith. Eh, I didn't take a position one way or another. My "all the reason for us to try to understand those mysteries" could be applied from both (or more) angles. I just observed that religious ppl don't necessarily fit into a stereotype implying they're against getting a better understanding of their surroundings.
-
I didn't say I knew everything. All I am saying is that God is the REASON there is a universe. How it works is still a mystery to us all. Yes, and all the more reason for us to try to understand those mysteries. I get perplexed when people assume people with religious beliefs aren't interested in learning more about the world around them through science (since it's something to work with).

With all these dismemberment talk, it gives me an idea for a Jedi. After being hacked up too much and getting replacement parts/"enhancements", what's left is basically her mind which uses the force (hence Jedi). I think the player'd be surprised if they "discovered" that the "Jedi" they fought was a droid (droid with Force powers?!)... but then rediscover it's still a life form in there behind all the machinery. Heck, here's an interesting idea - the Sith Lord sucks the essence of Jedis (that have been going missing) and implants them into special combat droid receptacles. The now Jedi-droids form his elite-corps Edit: I think the Yuzhan-Vong (novels) did something like this. They implanted the essence of living things into their mechanized fighters (in this case tiny starfighters which were much more maneuverable against X-Wings etc). Luke was confused when he sensed the Force in the "droid" starfighters.

Yeah, it's always difficult/restrictive to continue a story since all endings from the original could have happened.

In a sense I agree with you but the over-the-shoulder view isn't without its advantages. For instance I really liked the way the camera panned around during dialogues, making them really look cinematic, almost out of a movie. Maybe in the future things might be isometric, then important dialogues zoom in and change angle (camera changes for generic one-liners is overkill).

If they were contracted for another project, they should have more cash I suppose.
-
^Yup, it's okay within reason. As someone said, as long as they don't focus unreasonably on something, or it's not too blatant or repetitive then it's okay. Btw I didn't say rampant=okay, just that maybe we'll be seeing it in the future.

Not everyone hates KOTOR.

^There might be something in that with monotheism (Islam, Christianity, Judism etc) but Hinduism is polytheism, which would really contradict monotheism (and vice versa, of course).
