  1. The current point buy system only allows for min-maxed characters. You need so many points in so many stats to be effective in your class. This means there are no smart or wize figthers and no hardy and strong mages. Instead of reflecting a fictional personality, the point buy system makes stats representative only of class demands. It's moronic. Every time I start a E3 point buy game the first thing I do is look for the stat cheats. I also disagree with the spell level stat requirements for the same reason. A mage with a 15 INT should be able to cast spells of any level.
  2. I'm a bit worried that with Lucas saying he is done with the francise the number crunchers will vote against KOTOR 3 and for yet another MMOG. But it's really a no brainer that they will extend the sales of both NWN 2 and it's adons but going in that direction. Unless they farm it out of course. What the hell is IP and PNJ.
  3. Ohh dear. Review sites are always too kind. If it's under 70% it's pure manure. Still, I need a new RGP and since the other offers are worse...
  4. A world populated entirely by mutant teenage supermodels. nopls.
  5. Revan. Revan can reload everytime he loses a battle. Handy that.
  6. What is IE, some kind of unpopular browser ?
  7. Deus Ex had NPCs you remembered rather than always going 'who was that again and why do I care'. Good voice acting, an excellent plot. Too bad they screwed up the sequel.
  8. Final Fantasy is sillypuddy. I mean I like manga, just not the overly silly kind.
  9. I wonder why it says I have two processors running. Hypertreading ? I pass too, but I imagine it will be painfull to play untill I chuck my Radeon 9800
  10. I've had several expensive optical mice that are supposedly unbreakable with normal use and 'do not need cleaning' and therefore cannot be opened up sieze up due to **** buildup in the mice wheel and between the buttons. They would have been perfectly cleanable with screws instead of solid fixings, but I guess that way the mice makers stop making money. EDIT : G00k. Jesus I forgot the agressive filter, how annoying.
  11. " love roleplaying leaders. Actually, if you want any sort of historical simulation going on in your mind, RTW's 2-turn system really kills it; RTW's movement rates and the level of detail on the campaign map means that each turn is rather like a month than a year. Yet increasing movement rates means it's too easy to "go around" things, as it's not simultaneous turns (and can't be, probably, due to CPU constraints), and decreasing the level of terrain / land detail would cheapen the new map system. That, and things like raising armies and buildings would take a lot longer in the number of turns, so that the focus of campaign gameplay would become tactical movements, and I don't think they want TW to have too much of that. A pity, but should still be good." With the old system it would have taken 20 years to march an army arcross Europe.
  12. "Crabs is something like PST," Burn heretic !
  13. The first campaign is simply horrid, the less said about it the better.
  14. Or you could have a LN Paladin who believes vehemently that he is really LG but that helping that beggar in the street or that war refugee is not in the interest of the 'big picture'.
  15. Looks preeety crappy if you ask me.
  16. " ... Because Drow are commonplace in Neverwinter, being able to survive outside the Underdark and quite welcomed by the ordinary townsfolk. turned.gif" I don't understand what one thing has to do with the other.
  17. "As a slashdot reader mentioned, the point is that not many people know otherwise. The average Joe doesn't even know there are alternatives. Also, don't forget that regardless of what Media Player you use, you'll be running it on Windows. How long before MS transfers these functionalities to the OS core? WMP could just be a testbed." If that happens we will finally start to see a rise in Linux releases because people will be deserting windows in droves. I can't wait.
  18. I'm thinking i'll make a clean brake after I extend the shelf life of my box with a year or so with one last AGP card. It's still going to be servicable if not impressive for a long time, so I can always use the old box for LAN battling.
  19. This thread is .... .... long. Anyway I wan't to be able to play as HK47.
  20. I remember reading on Tom's hardware guide that you could salvage ram and CPU in most cases, but you really want a PCI express system with the latest frills, not some AGP combover that doesen't have DDR2 Thats my problem too, unless I choose some outlandish intel mobo with integrated graphics I can't make the transition. Sucks big time.
  21. http://nwvault.ign.com/screenshots/?ss=1744 This doesen't exactly make me itch to play a drow. Looks like a tacky black leather sofa that took a drive from the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.
  22. Great. Should be quite a step up from my radeon 9600 anyway. Those 'enthusiast' cards come with a bonus electric bill. I don't need that. Seriously you can't just leave a box that needs 500 + watt PS on and forget about it without being punished.
  23. Incidentially, whats the word on the power supply requirements for a x1650 I think mine is a 460 - something. I would hate to have to go shopping for a PS too.
  24. I think he used to have a 256x2 dual channel setup from back when ram was expensive as hell and someone took out one 256 stick and exchanged it with a 1g because the board didn't allow 256/256/1G. hte mystary deepens.
  25. Ahh.. I just assumed everything was dual channel these days. I suppose it''s possible that some boards allow that combination.
