  1. Torrents come in random chunks. I think he means something that can play a partially completed audio or video torrent file.
  2. I don\t think there is such a thing.
  3. 'nother nail in the coffin
  4. It's like it's been said already, XP works, and Vista can't run lots of software you might have already. It's one of those incarnations of Windows that doesn't seem justified.
  5. What do you mean. You can change the elements on a mac just as easily as on a PC. Although if you are really the type who likes to dig in a computer's innards, mac is not really for you to begin with.
  6. Yes, there was a time when Star trek was the only game in town, and TNG was considered progressive.
  7. Alienware is a bit like buying a mac. It's all very slick and quality, and also very bad value for money, compared to what you could buy and stick together yourself. Although you would have to spend a whole lot of time researching. Not all home builds come off that well.
  8. The only value star trek has now is kitsch, seeing as how both TNG and the last failed incarnation of the show have been debunked in their conception of sci fi. In that sense a return to Kirk makes perfect sense. I have a lot of sentimental attachment to TNG, but it so thoroughly and completely pales in comparison to say, Battlestar Gallactica.
  9. On the wrong side of 30 here.
  10. 10 years ago the sound of a bus stopping was a whole cascade of painful screeches to me. Now it barely registers. After 20 your body begins its slow trek downhill, thats just the way it is.
  11. You know how it's always easier to give advice about someone else life than realize things about your own. Well here goes : Go do whatever it is that will make your life exciting. Just being comfortably settled shouldn't be the end goal in itself.
  12. I think it's entirely possible that they wind up chewing each other's heads off and hand everything to McCain despite being acutely aware of the danger.
  13. Reagan democrats ? The notion that Bush was behind 9/11 has to do with America's fascination with conspiracy theories, it's just as much Michigan militia as ultra hippies. Mainly it's just a story thats so good that it doesn't matter if it's true or not. It takes on a life of its own.
  14. Yes, but everyday heroes like social workers aren't ordered to kill people. You can't have a sudden attack of morals in the middle of a firefight. You give up on politics and do what you're told, and national interests rarely ever fuse with morals. If you believe your country's military to be some kind of generally benevolent organization for the suppression of evil and the upholding of good, you are surely deluding yourself, no matter where you are from.
  15. Incidentally, military service is a job, you get paid. In return you accept risk and follow orders. Thats fundamentally incompatible with acting according to your own beliefs. As long as the aim of British involvement coincides with his philosophies, all is well, but he shouldn't make any assumptions. Neither can he just go home if reality no longer conforms to his belief.
  16. Billy isn't in the show anymore.
  17. I don't believe I can actualize my personal philosophies in the world, or that trying to would make the slightest bit of difference. In order for me to risk my life I would have to have a personal referent rather than something as intangible as women's rights, or democracy.
  18. Probably someone we haven't seen, or Gaeta, that shifty bastard.
  19. Hah, I was just going to post that.
  20. I thought 3# was really good. But it's still a real pain having to wait between episodes rather than watching a whole series over an evening or two, Like I did before.
