  1. https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/microsoft-ceo-project-xcloud-netflix-for-games/ Well, the hardware, consoles that is, doesn't generate much revenue, sometimes they are even sold with a loss. Imagine you are Sony or Microsoft and you could have the same control over your marketplace and have no piracy and so on, and not be limited to selling to people who have bought your hardware. That's what gaming streaming services offer. It's a way to create a tectonic shift in the way people access games. Think of all the people who would never buy their hardware for any reason. There is currently no way for Sony or Microsoft to get their business with the titles offered exclusively on consoles. A streaming service just pushes frames to the end user, so there is really no need for a PC port. I think eventually, in like 10-20 years or so, this development will kill off consoles. They are extra hardware no one needs.
  2. They are spending way too much time on the bizarre ruleset of the criminal underworld, whoever they are at the hotel where everything costs one gold coin, and it's not even remotely interesting. Jhon Wick 1 was just a revenge film with really decent stunt work. That's what made it good.
  3. It grates me no end that Walsingham is not here for me to scream 'I told you so' at.
  4. Well, I seem to remember an idea for Obsidian to create a storefront a while back, which nobody liked. Now with the blowback from Metro Exodus leaving STEAM and everything. The bad split offered by STEAM is getting passed to the customers because leaving is too much of a risk. As much as I like the convenience of STEAM, it is not without cost.
  5. Is it true that there is no offline mode for EPIC. Because, yeah. That s a deal breaker for me.
  6. The timing is bad, the exclusive is bad. I would need convincing, and there is no discount for me because I live in Europe. That said, what's the point in boycotting, just spend your money on something else. Same difference.
  7. Kinda silly premise for a boycott isn't it though. I mean, if signing up to EPIC is such a hassle that it's doing to keep your from playing the game, congratulations, you are already boycotting the game. You don't need to make a big fuss about it.
  8. I just checked Metro Exodus on Epic store. It's 60 Euro, same as it was on STEAM, so much for passing any savings onto the customer.
  9. September. That's like 20 years from now. (no it's not)
  10. It's STEAM's fault really, they are insisting on maintaining their monopoly pricing and driving developers away. So far EPIC store doesn't sound that consumer friendly. The fracturing is going to make the storefronts themselves less relevant I think. You will be browsing your game purchases through third party price comparison sites that automatically keeps track of specials and sales, maybe you have all your games listed in a third party launcher. It's probably not impossible to write software that will log you into a platform and launch the game. Another app to launch another app to finally launch your game.
  11. OLED has burn-in issues anyway. They are stating it up front to avoid warranty issues and basically just ask people 'not to display things that damage the screen' i mean WTF. That's anything that has bright colors and is static on the screen. Like a hud segment in a game or a news ticker.
  12. Got a cheaper Lenovo. Discovered they stuck 16 gb in it even though I only paid for 8, not complaining. ' It came with Macafee. luls, how is that still at thing.
  13. I just read up on it a bit and it seems like it amounts to less than 5%, so. Yeah. possibly still worth it getting an older CPU because of the price difference.
  14. What should you buy to avoid the spectre CPU vulnerability and big impact patches.
  15. Is this a good deal for roundabout 1800 euro. https://www.pricerunner.dk/pl/27-4493408/Baerbar/Lenovo-Legion-Y920-17IKB-(80YW002FMX)-17.3-Sammenlign-Priser
  16. Anyone have experience with the MSI lineup. I know it's 'gamer' branding (yuck) but, they are on the cheap side for having proper graphics cards in them and a lot of them stick to 1080p, which to my mind is smart on a laptop.
  17. Ordered a sowing machine, because it's not gay and a renaissance man can fix his own clothes. I'm thinking I'll become one once I have the sowing machine. Solid logic.
  18. Yeah, I mean, Titanfall 2. Just play that. Is that a Vulture, because Vultures mean Madcats and Shadowcats. Cool beans.
  19. https://www.polygon.com/2018/12/2/18122175/mechwarrior-5-mercenaries-launch-date-2019-pc Single player mechwarrior.
  20. How is Elex. I mean, how broken is it. Should I jump on the sale ?
  21. HBO? I'm willing to consider it being good. Not a guarantee of quality anymore. Jeremy Irons though.
  22. I got the Sennheiser. it's alright. I guess you pay through the roof for branding no matter what. Plus If you are buying anything called 'gamer' it will have embarrassing logos and an LED light show going on. I just bought my first mechanical keyboard and ruined it with a spilled drink the same day. So, yeah, there is something to be said for regular old keyboards even if they don't sound as cool, I have several that have survived a cola spill.
  23. Resist the urge to get personal people, don't get sucked in. There is a lot of interesting discussion going on. Tripple, you are over the line. Someone always started it, pushed a button, whatever. Be the better man. The next step is pruning the thread.
  24. The most important thing to me is to mix it up a bit. Make sure the information your quest markers give you is incomplete and sometimes misleading. Showing me where something is on the map is fine, constant hand holding gets boring after a while. Dark souls is the gold standard, but, it's a dungeon crawl, it doesn't have dialogue options to speak of, and you could never find half the secrets without looking them up on the net.
