  1. Apparently it will be a Dungeon Siege game. I'm surprised you didn't know that. I'm surprised you're pushing this point when you're aware of the evidence that it will be a strongly story-driven game.
  2. Agreed! There was more, of course, but these two might just be enough on their own to make the game great!
  3. This is amazing: http://sco.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronics
  4. Yeah, I don't think so...
  5. Here's as much detail as you could want on what the oil spill is like up close and personal, and what its impacts on wild-life are: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/envi...icle7145370.ece Basically, some guy scuba-dived down into it.
  6. Sorry, just to clarify: I was getting hyped about the interviews that funcroc posted. Very informative.
  7. Agreed! While I'm very tempted to go with a dual-wield ranger cleric (so ****ing powerful), I would miss out on the Druid's shape shifting, which is a deal-breaker for me. So I think I'll go with a party of multi-class Fighter/Druid and Mage/Thief this time on normal difficulty (with a 2 person party like this, Hardest screws up the balance too much).
  8. Join the Obsidian channel as detailed here: http://forums.obsidian.net/index.php?showtopic=55238 That's the easiest way to get a game going. I idle there all day except when I sleep.
  9. Clearly this game is in the hands of a madman! Barrels better... no way. Crates are just so... warehouse level. But barrels? Barrels could be filled with mead, ale or some other festive fantasy beverage. Or gold coins and a breastplate. Don't ask me why. Mead... have you ever had mead? It makes you understand why the Vikings were awesome incarnate.
  10. I think that's one of the unknowns. And it's not the only thing wrong here. The damage those particles cause to the ecosystem in the mean-time can permanently change it (and not in a good way).
  11. I've not seen it confirmed so I think the jury is still out. Considering Square Enix has their own 3d multi-purpose, multi-platform game engine they like to use, it's possible they're using that instead.
  12. I own LoA. *shrug* I'll be an archer or mage if we're doing DS1. Although frankly DS1 MP sounds a tad boring. There's no variety in the classes. DS2 did a lot to improve that.
  13. I think you mean years. 6 months is a best case scenario. Or it was before the discovery that the leak is twice as bad as originally projected.
  14. It turns out that BP's estimates are only half the true amount of oil leaking. It's the equivalent of 1 Exxon Valdez oil spill per week. The Exxon Valdez oil spill "is considered to be one of the most devastating human-caused environmental disasters ever to occur in history." How immensely ****ed is that? 15. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.
  16. I thought the Evil Wizard plot was pretty cool, even if in hindsight it was cliched. It may have been reasonably simple, but that's not a bad thing. They chose something compelling and fleshed it out and polished it. It wasn't bad at all. Better than a lot of other game plots out there (certainly better than the Diablo series for example). They could have, after all, not had that plot twist and you'd be left with the plot being simply "X is bad. Follow him to the end and kill him." That would of sucked.
  17. Just installed DS2 + Broken Worlds. The way the xpack works though, I can play either DS2 or Broken Worlds, in case you don't have the xpack.
  18. Maybe you should play DS, and then you will see that it is not a diablo clone. I liked Dungeon Siege, but I don't think you'll get very far arguing that it WASN'T a dungeon crawl (Diablo clone). Read my sig, I'm here for a few hours, and I already had enough discussing that LOL. Why do you guys consider hack & slash RPGs controlled with the mouse diablo clones? Dungeon Siege is unique in many ways. Because it's easy to type and everyone knows what Diablo is and how it played. And yet Dungeon Siege didn't play anything like Diablo, so typing it that way does seem a bit odd. IE to my mind Diablo is about preset classes with skill trees and randomly generated levels in a game that only has multiple characters in multiplayer Dungeon Siege had no classes and one could pick from any skill in the first one and it had a predefined map and has a party based gameplay. About all they had in common was both having action based gameplay. Because if being a "dungeon crawl" makes you a clone of Diablo then Diablo is a clone of every "dungeon crawl" that came before it (which it isn't).
  19. OK, wow, the more I read, the more impressed I am by this game and the development team. Go guys, this looks awesome!
  20. This game is looking like what Deus Ex 2 (Invisible War) SHOULD have been.
  21. DS2 with the expansion pack made multi-classing worth it. Multi-classing in and of itself isn't worth it within Dungeon Siege's class framework. However due to the ability/skill system introduced to complement it in DS2, the expansion pack was able to take that and create new skill sets for two multiclass options (combat mage/archer, and nature mage/fighter). I'm not at all a fan of the system of improve-by-use, though. Perhaps something like Fallout's skill system would be best here, where you decide each level where to invest your skill points, and you can invest them in anything (no classes). But we already know that DS3 contains classes, and not the fun Diablo type classes, so... poo.
  22. Would that be such a bad thing? I would vote in the party that had that as their electoral platform!
