  1. Basic codes I'm surprised aren't on the boards yet: 1) We need an obvious sad face icon here for the code 2) We need a crying/tear sad face hear for the code I don't think this is the best one. I'll keep looking. Luxury codes which are fun and would see use without being too elaborate: 3) A fun frustration smiley which saw mass usage in the days of the Winterwind boards. Should have the code 4) Another fun smiley for indicating disgust at an idea, or the fact that one has a hangover. Should have the code :puke: 5) Used in response to a post you think is awesome and such. Code :worship: 6) I would like to use this on trolls and such. Code :nono: 7) and This thumbs up/down image is severely lacking on this forum. These ones should be added! Code  and  8 ) Similarly, I think this roll eyes smiley works way better. Code  Good to see you guys are still improving the forums. I was starting to go nuts wondering where the frown smiley was, for example. I might update these later (remove some, add some) but I doubt it.
  2. It was a good game. Anybody remember that PC racing game Ignition? You could race as a school-bus.
  3. Haha no problem buddy

  4. Yeah right Worked most of the day. Got little else done. Next day please take a number and line up in queue #3 I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!
  5. I just made some pasta. The only pasta sauce I had left was chilli. I'm not a fan of chilli (but pepper is nice). I thus decided I would try and 'spice things up'. Besides the normal ingredients I add, I randomly pulled herbs and spices from the shelf. I believed I added various Italian herbs, I accidentally poured in too much kelp, and threw in two dozen cappers. It does not taste very good. While I think it's mainly because of the chilli factor, I think I'll stick to simple in the future regardless.
  6. To be honest, Nightshade is correct; an atheist in the common (and often technical) sense does not mean a confirmed non-existence of god (any god), it means no belief in god. This could take the form of a delusional certainty that there is no god (faith), but more often it takes the form of scientific certainty that there is no god (i.e. as far as science goes, we can truthly say god doesn't exist. But obviously this isn't perfect knowledge on such a large scale, so we won't absolutely rule it out). In contrast, an agnostic is somebody who doesn't want to be called an atheist because it upsets his religious friends. It's also possible, but rare, that they are agnostic because they really do have a semi-strong belief in the possibility of a god. If they don't really believe in the possibility of god, but won't rule it out with certainty, that's more an atheist stance. I've had this discussion with some people on other forums before. People will always disagree, though. Nice cop out, but no. I'm pretty sure most religious people will confirm god is all-encompassing, and that simply disbelieving him doesn't make him go away. This isn't Planescape: Torment. Likewise, just because I don't believe in the validity of a concept, that doesn't mean I poke my head in the sand and pretend it (the concept) doesn't exist as an idea.
  7. Strange, I don't think BG2's OC was quite as good as BG1's, and KOTOR's was better than it. Haven't played NWN2 yet, but I imagine I'll enjoy it. Errr what was the thread topic?
  8. Don't be bitter now. We've already given you guys so many sheep (and we don't judge you!), why won't you love us?
  9. As an atheist, I don't believe god exists, but I suppose there's a small chance. I am not an agnostic because an agnostic is secretly an atheist who just likes to play devil's advocate to both sides. Good night for happy juice times at 7am.
  10. The flavour is Vegemite is liquid awesome.
  11. Deus Ex. Best sniper weapons are the sniper rifle, pistol, plasma rifle and rocket launcher. Although only two of these are stealth weapons (guess which ones).
  12. Nothing wrong with that, I know several women who pole-dance as a hobby - the fact that you do it does not make you a stripper or anything like that. What? No! Guys, I'm not a girl. I AM A GUY.
  13. WARNING: Epic fail detected. Vegemite is delicious and nutritious. It's like beer on bread, but in the morning.
  14. The crates thread is just a silly joke. It refers to a thread I made on the Interplay forums (from memory) where I demanded that the Fallout 3 have a secret crate level. It blossomed into numerous valid and convincing posts regarding the pros and cons of crate-based game-play, and whether or not barrels should be given legitimate rights as crates. Quickly the crate-worship spread to the other threads. I recall making the thread a total of 7 times before the moderator (possibly Fionavar) got fed up and let it stay. They were rather gracious, because I was totally expecting a ban. Anyway, I made such a thread again when these Obsidian boards were created 4 years ago. It spurred some fascinating discussion, but was eventually deleted (I believe by myself when I was drunk - this was in the days when you could delete your own posts). Then when Aliens was announced, thepixiesrock and myself made crate threads. I point you to some here: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=47272 http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=47044 http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=48122 http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=48534 Then when AP was announced, thepixiesrock again beat me to the first crate thread, much to my chagrin: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=49198 And again the usual offshoot threads about ninjas and monkeys. It's a meme that's easy to get into without any history lessons because all you need is a love of crates. A hatred will work too, because it gives me somebody to argue with. So I guess you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I like crates?" Well, do ya, punk?
  15. Silly thing to say considering Nordic countries are most welfaring and secular countries in the world. Oh, and they're all protestants Australia's not Protestant (well, like 25%), and it beats the majority of Nordic countries at development and welfare. ...what the hell are you smoking, there's reason why Nordic countries are usually called "folkhemmet" (esp. Sweden and Finland) That doesn't translate into GPD's either. Australia is one of the best faring countries in the world but claiming it beats majority of Nordic countries at development and welfare is ridiculous and false (I even went to check official list for this, geez) "Official list"? Well, I'm amused but I'll humour you. Where is this official list? I rather think this is a fairly fluid matter and the absolute, objective emphasis you place on it seems out of place. Even the rankings I use below are mere guidelines and if you examine them closely the gaps between the countries at the top make deviating based on rank essentially pointless. I don't see how it is "ridiculous and false" anyway. Do you perhaps think Australia being founded by tribesmen and prisoners somehow implies poor living standards 200 years later? I acknowledge GDP is not an accurate measure of living standards. I'm glad you brought this up because per capita most Nordic nations beat Australia (at 16th). Although in terms of total GDP Australia beats them all. Anyway, onwards to the Human Development Index (measures things like standard of living, welfare, development, education). Only two Nordic countries (or any countries) beat Australia (3rd). Those are Iceland (1st) and Norway (2nd). Some would suggest using the Subjective Satisfaction Index instead, but I'm not sure that's a good idea for two reasons: 1) it's subjective - opinion based, and thus of little absolute importance in terms of standard of living, welfare, development - things the HDI is best at measuring, and the things you brought up in this discussion. 2) following from 1, Australians have a well documented and well known cynicism about their country, which exhibits itself most obviously in a strong collective Tall Poppy Syndrome But if that is the measurement index you wish to use, I certainly concede the Norse countries mostly beat Australia and New Zealand. Only one Norse country beats Australia at life expectancy (depending on the source it is Sweden or Iceland, yet strangely not both). According to the OECD, education in Australia is generally only beaten by Finland and sometimes Sweden (of the Norse countries). In most rankings New Zealand is always close behind or ahead of Australia, too, which is nice. Hmm, actually, considering how well Finland consistently does at all these rankings it makes me want to visit there sometime soon. Edit: And yeah I'm going on your "majority of Norse countries beat Australia" claim here. It is my belief that 1 or 2 out of 5 (or 6 if you include Estonia) does not constitute a majority.
  16. Whenever I replay Deus Ex, I get bored after Paris. That said, I've successfully gotten that far so with the following methods: Stealth + Melee. Did you know this is 100% doable without the nano-sword? A normal sword is still very lethal, especially with skill points and augmentations spent in this area. Stealth + Pistols. Very fun. Helps that stealth pistol is semi-automatic, but I also carry the normal pistol for sniping purposes. Rambo + Big Guns. Interestingly, the rocket launcher and plasma rifle effectively replace most weapons. Flamethrower is nice for the start of the game but the plasma rifle pretty much replaces it later on. Rambo + SMGs and rifles/shotguns. Yeah, fairly stock-standard but still pretty fun. Lots of variety. Stealth + sniper rifle and silenced SMG. Nothing better than randomly unloading a bunch of silenced rounds into a guy's chest. Headshot? Pfft. I bet can one hit kill you if unload half a clip. I'll be honest. My latest play-through was technically a mix of big guns and melee, but it worked very well; a good complement. I played on hard and used the medicine skill for once. It was great.
  17. I'm an Atheist Catholic. How's that for you?
  18. Actually, by definition, faith has nothing directly to do with god. You can capitalise it all you want but that won't change.
  19. Is that meant to be a euphemism for girls shaving down below?
  20. Silly thing to say considering Nordic countries are most welfaring and secular countries in the world. Oh, and they're all protestants Australia's not Protestant (well, like 25%), and it beats the majority of Nordic countries at development and welfare. WIN! Remember, correlation implies causation.
  21. It was my second internet alias. I created a Black Isle Studios forum account when I was like 12. I was playing Icewind Dale at the time and decided Kresselack was pretty cool. Somehow that implied a nickname of Krezack would be cool. I dunno it's all fuzzy logic to me now.
  22. We're not talking about me are we? I've only pole-danced once, and that was only cause the girl doing it with me was really cute. Did I come on here drunk and tell you about that? Anyway, I do maths and biology more than physics. In fact I am now convinced you are not talking about me.
