Ukraine Conflict - "History never looks like history when you are living through it."
True. The things the US has done in Africa are by far the worse crimes committed in recent history (Vietnam trailing close behind). First of all Kosovo doesn't really want independence, it wants to join Albania. Independence is just a way to get there. Why should we relinquish territory that is historically ours and for which there is no reason or precedence to do so, especially when doing so would open questions for other territory claims. They (the albaninans) have committed a mass exodus of Serbian people from Kosovo and Metohia and before the west intervention behaved like terrorist to the Serb population there. As for Republika Srpska, the official stance of Serbia is to support the Dayton agreement, in fact Croatia is more outspoken today about their claimed territory in Bosnia. Don't know why you are singling Russia and China here when it goes against what you said and those numbers seem overinflated to me to the point of insanity. Again I'm lost as to how you think that applies to anything I have said. You are under the impression that I'm somehow trying to say that one thing is ok, because it happened somewhere else. That is not the case, I'm just pointing out the double standards that a lot of people here have regarding the whole conflict. Also let me straight up say that I am not overly concerned with Ukrainians or Russian and Palestine or Israel. As you have said, there are so many conflicts around the world and so many people oppressed that claiming concern for any/all of them is dishonest to say the least.

It's really not, I'm just drawing parallels. When the US felt it was threatened it reacted very strongly and was ready for a WW3. @Elerond I am really not sure what you wanted to say with that.

Let me ask you what was the provocation during the Cuban missile crisis.

Palestine not wanting to be a part of the Israel state is also not provocation. Having oil is also not provocation. Wanting to sell oil in non US currency is not provocation. Being a non aligned state is also not provocation.

Not prying at all. It's 23 bucks for the net. 5gb/1gb is 52 dollars and 10gb/1gb is 61 dollars. The biggest packet they offer is 10gb net TV with 190+ channels (missing the whole discovery family) and phone for 64 dollars. But this is a small provider so they are very aggressive with their offers. A normal big IPS that costs 36 dollars for 1gb/200mb, their biggest pack is for 91 dollars and you get 1gb/200mb net, unlimited mobile (net and calls) and 3gb international mobile net, unlimited land line and over 250 tv channels, plus some paid apps. edit: what I payed for before is 31 dollars for tv 200+ channels and 120mb/15mb net (via coax).

You could say that Russia also responded very, very harshly to a provocation.

Yep. They offer 50% off for that second year if I upgrade. I can still cancel it in the first 14 days and I could also cancel it on the grounds of false advertising. We will see.

So about that 2gb internet connection. Funny how that works when they give you a 1gb ONT with wifi 5... Spent the last couple of days fighting around something that is so obviously stupid, they even advertised a wifi 6 capable device with one 2.5gb port... I will try for a day or 2 more and then cancel my contract. I was avoiding them for years because I heard bad things about their support, serves me right for taking the bait.

Anime and Manga - I respect the first human to have eaten a mushroom
Yeah, the song is not great, although with the combination of scenes it works. I was more interested to see how many shows people here recognized. There is a list of anime used in the description. For me I know these ones, but mostly from manga Darling in the Franxx Spy x Family - Haikyuu!! Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai One Punch Man Akame ga Kill! Boku no Hero Academia Kimetsu no Yaiba Fate/Zero Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade The End of Evangelion Sword Art Online Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru Highschool of the Dead Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works Dragon Ball Super JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Puella Magi Madoka Magica Shingeki no Kyojin Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon Kakegurui Owari no Seraph Chainsaw Man Koi wa Ameagari no You ni Bleach Kizumonogatari Hajime no Ippo Bungou Stray Dogs Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka I have not read/watched all of these, but still tried/know about them.

Finished S3 of Umbrella Academy. I like it much better than s2, the overall plot and what not. Still skipped through some character drivel.

What You've Done Today - Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life
Ah, if only you knew the environment I work in... Basically the answer to those kind of question is to start defining some arbitrary requirements for the thing you are testing and then to start putting it through basic use cases and then go with more "advanced" scenarios. For the spice rack you would define it's dimensions and the maximal size of the spice shaker that can fit and of than max size the number of those that can fit. Then you define if it's wall mounted or freestanding. Lets say it's wall mounted, you verify that using the provided hardware to screw it in would keep it on the wall, than you add the weight of all the shakers, then you add more weight to find the max load before failure. Then you go wild and test if during an earthquake various sizes of spice shakers would fall out. And so on, and so on... Basically you want to show them how many scenarios for testing you can find, but the trick is to cover all the basic functionality. The issue is that people train for interviews and you want to see how they really think. Saying that, I know of one company that just has a one hour talk with the candidates where they just talk about their experience and some random things. No assignments, no tests.

That's still young. It's a standard kind of question for junior QAs, not the spice rack per se but test something really basic, like a marble for an example. It's supposed to show if the candidate has a QA mindset, which is mostly bs.

Oh, I was under the the impression that you were somewhere in your 30s. 😄 My worst one was with a company where I applied for a job of QA lead. I got rejected, which is fair enough and they even replied which was nice of them. The issue began after that when another HR from the same company called me for another position. They called me in for an interview, both technical and hr at the same time, which I accepted because the pay offered was more than twice what I had. Now I came in to the interview, the hr lady sat down with me and straight of the bat told me "the tech interviewer was in a meeting and she would call to let us know if she can make it."... I rolled with it and continued the interview, because I was already there, but I kind of lost it when she started talking about my background and saying things which were not in my CV. When she realized that I had no automation experience, she started saying that they didn't call me for a specific project and that she would see if there was a good fit for me. After asking an acquaintance, who worked there, about the whole interview, he was confused about the whole thing and asked the tech person who was supposed to interview me what the whole thing was about. It turned out they just wanted to talk to me and feel me out... But the icing on the cake was the essay that the HR person sent me not half an hour after that, about how I should have asked her any questions I had, obviously mad I went around her back and how there was no position available at that salary for someone like me. The funniest thing is that I applied for a position at that company some years later, the interview went fantastically and they were visibly happy with me, but again even though I clearly stated I had no automation knowledge, they wanted me to do the assignment, which I obviously couldn't. I'm 99% certain that none of those positions ever did any automation. edit: my go to question is to ask the candidate to open the notepad app and tell me it's basic functionality and how he would test it. You would be surprised how many people fail at that.

Yeah, that sucks. Had a few of those myself. But interviewing is like anything else, with practice you get good at it. Nowadays I'm on the other side of the table and am the one throwing curveballs.

What You've Done Today - Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life
I told them I was under contract with my previous ISP for a year, so they offered it for free for that year. That kind of threw me back, so I thought what the heck. If I sign up for a bigger package in the second year they will discount it 50% for that year. But my installations are cat5 so even the 2gb is overkill. Although I will remedy that, when I get the time. Ah, traveling. Well that does suck. But it will do you good to see fresh faces which you can get to hate all over again. 😄 Maybe you even meet someone who doesn't suck, you never know. 😛

Utopia, riiiight... 😂 They offer up to 10gb and have been hounding me for years to sign up with them, but I hesitated as I have heard bad things about them. Figured I can try them out now and see the quality of service. Still have my old backup. Good luck! It's pretty hard to change companies after you've worked for one for a long time, but I think it will be good for you, even if it doesn't turn out to be that good at a new company. You can always find another.

Got a second internet line in, a 2gbit connection. It's free the first year, so I just gave it a shot. Still keeping my old one as I have heard not so good things about the support for the new provider, but as I'm fairly close to them I'm hoping there won't be many issues.

Anime and Manga - I respect the first human to have eaten a mushroom
Just reread the whole part from when Two new chapters of Berserk out. All in all the style seems to be there, though in a more simplified manner. If you don't pay attention to the small details you won't notice much. We'll see if this holds true in the future chapters, as Miura could have done some work on these ones.

The warmest we are looking here is 37⁰C next week. I guess that is much better than the 50 south of Spain was getting.
