I am now seriously thinking of giving it another go and to try to get over the hump, although I am going to have to disagree with you regarding the animation, it's all over the place quality wise.

Bad enough that, I started skipping 15 minutes in and then quit around the half way mark. It starts with such painfully obvious exposition, that is done with a sledgehammer. The characters are tropy and bland. The animation quality is like they had a budget but wanted great animation, so they splurged on a couple of scenes (probably enough to make a trailer). I think Bartimaeus and majestic would have a seizure watching this (I would laugh my ass off if they ended up liking it).

There is that too, a similar case would be with our third party software supplier. We come in with an issue and they say we can't change the existing functionality it would affect other customers, best we can do is create a separate functionality for your issue and of course charge it as such (instead of bugfixing)... Doesn't matter that we are their largest customer...

I don't think anything will be worse that the Skyrim mods I've seen. Ditto. Never got to experience that because there were no original games being sold in my country then (even when they did appear they were prohibitively expensive).

I had to google that. But no, rules and reading didn't have much to do with how I played the game. I'm impressed I got as far along as I did.
