  1. There are variations of that in manga, where they subvert the harem trope. Like the MC being gay and the girls won't leave him alone and things of that nature. Thinking on the subject of fan service the only example where it added to the plot and worked was Prison School, it was hilarious while it was good... sadly it took a nosedive near the end. I guess Grand Blue is another example, but there it's mostly male nudity, so I don't know how much of a fan service that is.
  2. You either get over that stuff or read manga. Not saying there is no fan service in manga, there is and they even started uncensoring it partially, but you can find manga that is simply not about that. If you really want to see what a harem anime/manga is than you can read To Love Ru which is all about it and the author cheekily insert uncensored stuff in reflections that is really well hidden, like easter eggs...yeah easter egg... Now here is where I say that I haven't read/watched it and that I know all this from second hand, but reading what I wrote I don't believe myself...
  3. That is, sadly, fan service... Very hard to find an anime that gets around that.
  4. How is it turning in to a harem? Because there are multiple female characters and one male? There are hints of the FMC liking the MC, but it's more along the lines of her becoming self conscious around him. I even praise it because the story is not romance focused. The only thing you can blame it for is the fan service. I read the manga though, I don't know if the anime changed the story.
  5. Inventing Anna. To it's credit I finished the show, which is a rare thing nowadays for me, but still I wouldn't say that it's a great show or anything. The main character was unlikeable which is understandable, but the biggest sin is that she was annoying at some points in the show. It's a "based" on a true story. All in all I find that Molly's Game is a much better version of this type of story and as show in all aspects of it, although it may be an unfair comparison because one is a movie and the other is a short form TV show. Then again they could have made it in to a movie and it would have benefited very much from trimming some fat.
  6. It's not even good propaganda... Worse yet it's rushed propaganda. Either Ukraine is getting antsy, or for some reason the US is in a hurry.
  7. As far as netflix anime goes, I was surprised by how good it was. Trailer out for chainsaw man. Maybe I'll watch it as a refresher for the manga whenever that continues.
  8. I need to accept analytics, social media and advertising cookies, or one of the 3.
  9. Yeah... I have been seeing it for two weeks now and the short trailer didn't seem bad so I gave it a go.
  10. As majestic said, it will go away in a week or two. My recommendation is to get a box of wet wipes that are for cleaning glasses, you will get very frustrated with the cleaning cloth when it gets dirty, which happens very quickly. These are the best I found:
  11. Orbital Children, or a better title should be Evangelion Children. The story is convoluted almost to the level of Evangelion, but I liked it. Especially because it's only 6 episodes long, so it's very to the point.
  12. I'm well enough. All in all the symptoms were pretty light, although the coughing got intense at one point. edit: very>were
  13. Was sick for the past week. Didn't get tested, but the person I got it from, again, did. The symptoms were pretty much the same as 2 years ago from what I can remember, only that this time by the end of it I lost my sense of smell and taste. I got my taste back mostly the next day. Hoping that the residual symptoms don't stick around too long, last time I was coughing for a while.
  14. Finished Magnetic Rose. It wasn't scary for me, although I could see the comparison to Alien. Other than that it was solid enough. Reminds me of Shinichi Hoshi stories somewhat.
  15. At this point shooting himself in the foot is healthier than Discovery.
  16. Well, going to watch Memories tonight. While we are on the subject of Memories, has anyone watched Plastic Memories? I think you would like it @majestic. (let's see how wrong I am this time ) It's 13 episodes long btw, so not that much of a commitment.
  17. I think the amount of people who use mods is negligible to the amount that play the game. I never did like the idea of holding the players hand and eliminating the possibility of a wrong choice. In theory it sounds nice, but as you say it makes it everything the same. Oh the fighter is so smart that he only hits critical points... whatever... I don't think it was ever advocated to remove minor fights, just not to remove xp from them. It made the annoying fights, just annoying.
  18. And it's not like it's hindsight that balance being the main focus was a bad idea, a not so small amount of people here on the forums were very much against it and were saying that it would make the game boring... There was also the dreaded metagaming. That some encounters were unfair and only beatable with metagaming knowledge. So we got not memorable fights. And on, and on, and on... It's sad that the lead creator was someone who did not like the basis of the games he was trying to emulate.
