  1. Haven't been here that long to warrant a change, maybe in a decade.
  2. There were some discussions and I got that impression. Also it's considered to be the weakest of the IE games.
  3. Well most of the people here will tell you that it is the worst Infinity Engine game for them. As for me, it's my favorite game out of them (I'm a little biased though as this was my first IE game). The atmosphere is great and it's what makes it really stand out. The story is pretty standard, although it's not really you saving the world but the Ten Towns. Also be warned that the game is linear, although it was designed to be so (it's a dungeon crawler). The length of the game is huge by today's standards. All in all I say give it a shot. If it doesn't hook you by the end of chapter one, you can always drop it.
  4. I'm still waiting for pretty much any game from that genre on a PC. It's been a long time since the last DMC...
  5. Just finished SC2: Legacy of the Void and I have to say, that ending was tailor made for me. Leaves me wondering what they will do with SC3 (will there even be a third part?). Now we wait for War Craft 4 RTS game.
  6. Why hypocrisy though?
  7. I don't think POE2 being made was ever a question, I'm just wondering will it be via KS or did they make enough money for a sequel.
  8. Who ever ordered this to happen just did Russia a big favor, any doubt that the Russian people had about NATO and the conflict against the "Islamic State", is now no more. I was just watching the video of muslims shooting at the parachuting Russian pilot and I can tell you that this single video did more for Putin than any propaganda out there. He can now safely boost his military spending and some pants are going to be shat.
  9. Ok here is a quick guide from my experience as far as noise is concerned. First, CPU coolers: - All in One (AIO) water kits are not that quiet, it's usually the pump that is a culprit, so unless you want to spend 250-350 bucks skip them. - An air cooler is great because you can get similar performance for less cash (80$ or less), and you can pretty much only hear them when it's dead quiet and you are listening for it. The down side to them is that they take up a lot of space and sometimes cause compatibility issues with other components. (I use Noctua NH-D15) - If you want to go really cheap and you don't plan to overclock (getting a non K cpu) you can just get a new fan for the stock intel cooler (I would recommend a Noctua PMW fan). Second, Cases: - Any big brand will usually offer quality (build material) cases. The difference usually comes down to esthetics and to a lesser degree (at least nowadays) modability and airflow. Again it comes down to if you plan to overclock or not. If you don't, then you would want a case with the least amount of holes in it (more holes more ways for noise to get out and dust to get in) and preferably being made from mostly aluminum. There are even some cases out there with sound isolation material in it. Also see that you get a case without fans, 90% of the time they are crap and you would want to replace them, so grab a case with 2 vents (front and back) and put your own fans in it (again Noctua is the way to go). And third, PSU (power supply unit): - Here is where you would want to invest some cash. A PSU is a foundation of your PC, so it a smart idea to shell out for a decent PSU, it will be efficient and make less heat which makes for less noise. Seasonic makes great PSUs (other brands also use their PSUs, they just put their sticker on them). Ah, yes, I forgot about a graphics card. Hmmm, well they will get noisy under strain, there is no way around that unless you want to water cool them which is an expensive endeavor. But that tends to be less important, because when they are under strain you will usually have some other noise to cover them up, like games or movies. Anyways the thing you want to watch out for is their noise when they are not in use. Asus Strix series is great for that, because the fan doesn't spin at all when the card is not in use, so no noise. All in all Humanoid's recommendation is great.
  10. Damn maybe I should bump up my RAM to 2666Mhz, but then I will lose my adaptive voltage (curse intel and their lack of giving a ****). @CAIN Another question to ask yourself is how quiet do you want your PC to be. The stock cooler will be very noisy when it spins up and not all GPU coolers are made equal, same goes for cases.
  11. Since I wrote that, the game has also added immunity to afflictions. Since those don't prevent you from inflicting damage, they're obviously not hard counters either. Could be, but I don't remember Josh explaining it quite like that. Not that it matters, as long as they are going back to what was good.
  12. Wait, wait, wait, what happened to no hard counters in PoE? I thought immunities were degenerative gameplay, that only grognards like.
  13. LOL
  14. Nah, not different people. Individual personas have express this attitude on this forum. They pick what PoE is and isn't to suit their argument, never mind what was implied in the KS.
  15. It's nice how people pick and chose what PoE was about. Saying that the story matches the style of BG games, get's responses like "Well it's supposed to be a Baldur's Gate like game!". But when we come to gameplay, it's like "It was never going to be like the IE games, they said so themselves!".
  16. I bet some policies are going to be changed in France after this.
  17. Btw, I'm looking at purchasing EK XLC Predator 360 (if I can get the shop to order it) and then plugging in the next gen (probably nvidia) graphics card when it comes out. The issue I'm having is that my Corsair 760T has a top mesh for the cooler but it lacks a dust filter for it which irritates me to no end as my apartment accumulates dust very quickly. Though there is a "cheap" fix for the problem, it looks very nice, it's magnetic and it looks like it would do a better job at keeping the dust out than the stock dust filter.
  18. I'm pretty sure what you are saying doesn't make sense... If a game is in real time and has a pause option that let's you do stuff during said pause, it's RTwP. That you are not willing to call them that (or have another category for them) is another matter entirely. Nor would I want you to, as I have already played enough games that used both system to have an understanding on what makes them differ and any explanation coming from you would be convoluted to say the least, judging from your posts. If the game forces you to pause after every action, then it's pretty much better to make it turn based. The IE games are the standard of how a RTwP game should play and from what I heard during development and now from other players that played the game, it seems that all that Obs managed to do with PoE combat is make it tedious and bland. I'll probably give it a shot a some point, but I'm not holding my breath.
  19. That's such a bad way to make a RTwP game play... My will to play this game goes down every time I read posts here... Like there is no point in making it a RTwP game, if you are going down that route then just make it turn based.
  20. Got a WD Green 6TB HDD, although only 5.45TB is usable... Also have 3 Noctua A14 FLX ordered to switch out the stock Corsair case fans.
  21. Personality: ENTP ("The Debater") Variant: Assertive Role: Analyst Strategy: People Mastery
  22. Chapter one is already out.
  23. There are many Fantasy writers, old and new, who wrote much more complex works with much more foreshadowing and still managed to have a decent if not yearly release schedule (Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson immediately come to mind). The thing is, Martin is a discovery writer and the issue with discovery writers is when they get writers block they are screwed, also they usually need many more revisions upon completion of the first draft.
  24. They have plans for 2 more. One is called The Wasteland and the other is Furiosa.
