Kekkai Sensen, Punch Line and Plastic Memories have the best intros so far from the currently running series for me.

Watched Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito, so far it's ok, but it's getting pretty close to the category of "This sequel/prequel doesn't exist". Why? As I said so far it's ok and that is not a bad thing considering it's in the shadow of the original. Two episodes are out, with the third one hitting the net any day now and two more after. I'm definitely going to see where this goes, hope I don't regret it. Also Kekkai Sensen still kicks ass (on it's fifth episode), definitely give it a go.

OK, it's crunch time and I'm kind of having doubts about the LG. The price is not really the issue, I'm just having doubts because of it being ultra wide. Also there are some build quality concerns, as I found out on deeper investigation but they are not common so it's not really a big issue. I think it's going to be the LG-34UM95-P or Dell U2715H. I really like the Dell because you can change the orientation of the screen to vertical, and that is very useful for reading manga/comics. So what do you guys think is ultra wide really that useful or is it better to go for a standard aspect ratio. Any thoughts and opinions are appreciated.

RPGCodex Review #1 - Hŵrpa Dwrp
Sarex replied to Sensuki's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I think the mods are hopping the thread runs it self out, so they don't have to make a V2 of it. XD -
I'm still willing to give it a shot, it deserves that much.

Though that was a pretty good point you must admit.

Idk, I prefer the DC universe to that of Marvel. To me DC always had more substance to it, though I never went terribly deep in to Marvel. The only books I follow from Marvel are Deadpool and Thor, and they kind of killed Thor with this new female thor stuff. As far as the movies go, Nolan's Batman blows anything from Disney/Marvel out of the water. All that being said, Manga blows western comics out of the water, so there is that.

Struggling to finish
Sarex replied to AncientToaster's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Disclaimer right of the bat: I haven't played the finished game yet. Didn't matter then and it won't matter now. Enough people bought the game (I think) for them to continue the formula as is. Most people who like/dislike the game won't bother stating their opinion and will just buy or not buy the next game. I'm sure that a few things will improve in the next one (better AI, higher level characters and items) but I really think that the fundamentals will stay the same. The real result of the game will show it self when the time comes to buy PoE2. I guess the only hope for people who want a next Baldurs Gate game are the guys at Beam Dog and that is kind of sad. But hey, maybe they surprise us and make a good game... -
This is going to be the first game in a long while that I didn't finish, let alone 100%. I stopped playing it a month ago, but I recently realized that I have no wish to go back to it. I think I was even near the end (2 main missions away). The game is way too long, for the gameplay it offers. The most detrimental thing for it, in my case, is that I like to finish all side quest/challanges before moving the main plot forward. What got me the most was the lack of the auto-attack function, I would have sludged through the tedium that is the combat, if it had that option. (I have done it many times in many games, DA2 being the obvious example) As far as the story is concerned... well I guess it wasn't good enough to cover for the abysmal combat. I really hope that PoE is not a repeat of the same issues (bad combat and a story not good enough to cover for it).

Pretty much. I'll probably wait for the next gen of graphics and get the x80 series.

I think this is the monitor I'm going for. It's 100 dollars more expensive in my country, but performance wise it's pretty solid. The lag is ok, for it's size and type of panel and the refresh rate is 60. Probably gonna pull the trigger on it next month or the one after.

It seems to me that Kekkai Sensen may well be the anime of the season. Seriously recommend giving it a try.

I'm looking forward to this, I mean how bad can it be?

Less and less as time goes by... Though I can usually get 7 hours of sleep, as long as I go to bed early enough. I need to start exercising, I'm pretty sure that would fix things, but yeah I'm lazy...

I saw it, though I never much liked the TV version of it. Probably gonna give it a go at some point.

Anime spring season has started. Haven't seen anything that is overly interesting yet. Shokugeki no Soma is good, but I'm already reading the manga. It's still fun to see it animated. Plastic Memories had a ok/good pilot and it's an original anime so that's a plus. It really depends with how they develop the story, has potential. Seen a couple of more series but other then those 2 nothing really sticks out yet.

40k done by obsidian would be something to see!

Hey some of the guys here which I won't bother to name...

Read the Farseer trilogy by Robin Hobb and all I can say is that I am not touching any of her work ever again. I don't even know why I read all 3 books to be honest... I guess I was hoping that it would get better by the end. The main character is so unlikable, that it boggles my mind why she would make him like that. Anyways there are more books that continue the series, but a quick read through the plot showed me that things don't improve in later books. As such I wouldn't recommend these books.

Season 2 of Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru has started. I liked season 1 of it, though I think the LN is still better as there is a lot of internal monologue.

I use spybot for malware. Though I must admit the new v2 is pretty ****, they bloated it so much... -

Those polls are usually a load of crock. Using Eset for a decade now and never had an infected computer with it. It's just as good as any of the alternatives and it's not heavy on the system. -
You made me look up school days... O_o

Finished a couple of new anime series and here are my thoughts on them: Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata - Great stuff, definitely worth trying, especially if they announce season 2 (stuff get really exiting then (according to the novel)). Cross_Ange: Tenshi to Ryuu no Rondo - Uh, like really cringe in some places, but then there is some glimmer of hope and then it's gone again. All in all not recommended. Seiken Tsukai no World Break - This one really had potential, but it just kind of fell short. I don't know if it followed the novel story, but the latter part of the series was underwhelming. Worth giving a shot, but not really recommended. Death Parade - Interesting show and a fresh concept. I recommend giving it a try. Absolute Duo - I have no idea why I even watched this. I guess I'm on an anime binge. Juuou Mujin no Fafnir - Just don't. So cringe. shudders Aldnoah.Zero - Not really bad, but not good either. There are much better shows with the same concept plot and character design. But if you are new to this kind of thing I guess it's worth giving a shot. Durarara!! Watched season 1 and it was interesting. Gonna watch season 2 soonish. Recommended.
