Can't you see better when you're NOT wearing fogged up wet glasses?- The funny things thread
What cracks me up the most is that the guy wears glasses in the shower.- What you did today
Cycling. It was so cold and rainy I almost froze my balls off. Also when I was pedaling along the Danube river I saw something pretty cool, a huge replica of a wooden Viking ship with colorful round shields and everything slowly swimming down the stream. It was full with drunk and screaming people and several ghetto blasters on board were playing pop songs so loud you could still hear it kilometers away. Getting drunk the creative way, I like it.- The general firearms thread!
I love recoil. I can highly recommend shooting magnum shotgun slugs out of a 6 lbs single shot shotgun from the bench, thats 510 grains of lead at 530 m/s. Shooting it feels like getting grazed by a speeding monster truck. I used to shoot my shotgun that way, until I got eye problems from the recoil. Now I don't shoot it that often anymore. As far as feature goes, give me a Steyr ACR and I'm happy.- Music, part 2

Its not a Zeiss glass, yet it uses Zeiss lenses and guts. That the awesome thing about CZ Meopta, they're every bit as good as Zeiss at half their prices, for the Meopta R1 in the pic I only paid 800 bucks. (and thats the official sniper glass of the Czech republic. ) I wholeheartedly recommend Meopta scopes, beats the hell out of Leopold and in some aspects even Nightforce price AND quality-wise. Check them out, their stuff is excellent: http://www.meopta.cz/- The general firearms thread!
Just got my German Era-Tac 20 MOA one-piece picatinny scope mount. Now I have an adjustment range of 62 MOA, thats 157 centimeters at 100 meters which should allow me to adjust my scope for 1500 meters shots easily, which is perfect for my .300 Remington Ultra Magnum. The scope is a 30mm CZ Meopta 4-16x44 R1 Tactical diamond mildot reticle with parallax adjustment and scope dust covers plus an anti-cant level. Meopta uses lenses from Zeiss Jena.- Music, part 2

I've always been a fan of huge construction machines. Mining in hell:- What you did today
Today I was so tired in the office I fell asleep, sitting in my chair while writing a couple of boooring offers. Then when I woke up I succumbed to the sudden very random urge to sing ''Row row row your boat gently down the stream.....'' in my deepest bass voice, much to the surprise of my co-workers. Now I'm extremely moody, switching between angry and euphoric mode. Maybe I should get a CT of my brain or something, I just hope I didn't pop an important vessel in my head when I was doing 160Kg deadlifts yesterday.- Music, part 2

I've heard the sudden increase in length and harshness of winters in Europe is directly caused by the melting poles. Water from the melting ice ''desalts'' the water of the ocean, sweet water evaporates better than salt water and forms tons of clouds and the wind carries that endless supply of moist air directly to Europe like a giant conveyor. Best thing is its supposed to get worse.- What you did today
All I know is that its a fact that lack of direct sunlight over a prolonged period of time eventually screws up your brain chemistry and this inevitably leads to episodes of depression. Not to mention bad skin conditions which are directly linked to lack of sunlight. I experienced both things last winter, and I'm pretty good at dealing with very cold weather, compared to most other people I know.- What you did today
Hard to believe. Last year we had a really dark long winter, endless snow and completely overcast weather for 5 months straight. I think I counted 3 days that had a couple of hours of direct sunlight and temperatures often dropped well below minus 20 celsius. Man, that made me feel even more miserable than usual, now in Scandinavian countries such winters are pretty much the norm, I cannot imagine anyone being even remotely happy under such dreary climatic circumstances.- What you did today

Oh man, what did the gun do to him that he let some idiots destroy it? Why didn't he at least sell it? Reminds me of my government, when the STG77 (Steyr AUG) was introduced to our military the STG58's (FN-FAL's) slowly faded out of service and ended up in huge warehouses. Many of those were never issued, brand new pristine rifles made by Steyr Mannlicher with late 50's area craftsmanship and quality. A couple of years ago a few asshats of politicians decided to cut the budget of our military (again) so guarding those warehouses and maintaining the rifles was no longer feasible. So what did they do? Sell them? Upgrade them to DMR's like the US did with their M14's? Ship those rifles to the US to sell them to civilians? Nope, they cut them to pieces and dumped them into a river. Just like that. But hey, that was just a few million bucks of tax money. I'm also a big fan of the 9.3x62, especially in a long barreled Mauser with a beautiful walnut stock. If I was a big game hunter it would be my round of choice.- The general firearms thread!
