  1. Thats a good interpretation. The part where I let myself fall and hit the ground is probably a metaphor of me leaving school, thats the last time I had physical contact with the school building in my dream, the brutal impact on the ground and the deserted city was a metaphor for the harsh reality that followed after. Pain, no help, being on my own.
  2. I had an extremely intense vivid dream today, I was in my ex-school, a large tall building where I opened a suspicious door and stumbled into a huge drug lab. Unfortunately guards immediately spotted me and caught me, they tied me up and threw me in an absurdly large pool to drown me. But I fought and tried to keep myself above the water as long as I could. The goons then decided to pull me out (mercy?) of the pool and lock me up to give me a clean death instead. It was a small room on the 4th floor. I knew I had to escape because they would kill me, but how? I looked at the window and realized climbing down was the only possible way. It was a pretty flat facade with nothing to hold onto, I climbed out and clung onto the frame of the window, I managed to climb to another window which lead to a room (It looked exactly like my old classroom) next the one where I was locked up. Thats when I heard alarm sirens, shouting and guards running around in the building. I sneaked to the other side of the building, climbed out of another window where a vertical rainpipe lead to the 3rd floor. The fear of falling was overwhelming but I knew it was my only option. The rainpipe lead to a small terrace where I was stuck, there was no other way down than to jump, but jumping two stories was too high. I did it anyway, hung onto the edge of the terrace to minimize the distance between my feet and the ground and hoped for the best. A horrible feeling of fear and desperation overcame me. Fortunately I spotted some kind of solid looking creeping plant on the facade. I let myself fall and grabbed the plant mid-air ripping it off the wall in the process, which somewhat dampened my fall, it was enough to save me from severe injuries. I hit the ground hard, I couldn't breathe and the pain was immense but I was alive and immediately realized I had to get back up on my feet and start running. With severe back pain I ran through the completely empty city (which was a perfect copy of my ex schools surrounding structures and streets) looking for help, the buildings looked decayed and there where no cars nor people or lights. I ran to a phone cell to call my mother, and thats where things got fuzzy and unclear. I remember telling her that I was being in big trouble and that we must meet at a place only we knew. The last thing I remember from my dream is water, maybe an open air bath, then I woke up. If thats my subconsciousness trying to tell me something through strange metaphors I don't get it.
  3. I'm a BSN refugee. During the time of DAO I used to be a very active member on the Bioware Social Network till everything went downhill with the disappointing DAO:Awakening, DA2, ME3 and the infiltration of a new kind of audience I've grown to dislike. When I learned about Project Eternity (Sadly too late to make a kickstarter donation *headdesk*) and a friend of mine convinced me to register to the Obsidian forums (Thanks, TsugaC!) I left the beaten disaster zone the BSN had become to seek shelter and refuge here. Ok, I haven't left the BSN completely, but the Obsidian forums is such a nicer and more civilized place, not to mention as a classic D&D RPG fan I'm way more interested in PE than in any of BW's current abomin...I mean projects / new directions.
  4. Went to the shooting range to test some handloads for my .300 Remington Ultra Magnum, got some decent groups at 100 meters. 5 shots each, stout loads, used the 240 grain Sierra Matchking bullet. Shots are a little high because my scope dope is for 200m. ..
  5. By the way, thats not the ''Armour & weapon designs - a plea (part IV). '' thread. Its about hot women, and Antje Traue is one. Armor? Pffff... *shrugs*
  6. Its Faora-Ul from Men of Steel so I imagine the chain-like material is some sort of a highly bullet-resistant Kevlar-composite material. Like the rest of the armor. Not very practical with all the spikes unless maybe you live in a desert-like world with very little to no vegetation and a society that builds very clean smooth structures with nothing to get caught on. I still vastly prefer sleek and smooth armors though.
  7. I agree, the armor and the sword is really nice as well. With 1,6m length that sword is like a small one handed pike. Pretty cool, I wonder how effective it (Estocs in general) was to defeat armor. Could it penetrate chain mail? Could blocking other swords damage the thin blade?
  8. I'd say that Messers belong to the two-handed and one handed swords categories. They're not really sabers, they're comparatively heavy swords with curved blades and only one sharp edge. Thats when Europeans realized the curved blades of sabers increase cutting power and implemented that feature in their sword designs, but they still needed a heavy blade against armored foes. That resulted in sword-saber hybrids, like the German Grosse Messer and various falchion designs. I'm not entirely sure how the rules in PE are going to work but the Messers -if there will be any in PE- should get some extra points in armor penetration and damage while being a little slower than lighter straight swords. Like a tiny sub-category. And Messers are awesome, I have a two handed one myself, holding it in my hands feels so much more brutal and effective than my bastard sword.
  9. Roger that. She was the only reason why I watched that series back when I was a little sh!t.
  10. Marriage IS a nightmare for those who dream it and those who live it as well. What I did: for the first time in months I managed to sleep without waking up at least 30 times during the night.
  11. Damn curiosity made me visit a body builder forum and I couldn't resist to read a couple of threads there. Oh boy, big mistake, its going to take me years to grow back the IQ I just lost there.....
  12. What I'm doing right now is being annoyed by the idiocity of some people, just read that a hunter and professional poacher here in Austria ticked out, took hostages, killed three police officers and a paramedic who tried to reanimate one of the shot cops. Really, murdering an unarmed person who made saving lives his job is beyond evil. I just hope the police shows no mercy and kill him on the spot before he causes more harm.
  13. Huh, really? Got to try that out. I have hard time figuring out why the airflow slows down with water on my hand. Does the layer of water on the skin create a rough uneven surface that traps the air and/or slows it down? I'm a hobby scholar of race car aerodynamics and ground effects but I don't get that trick. What I did today: just my ate my first garden-grown parsnip and I have to admit I'm completely blown away by its awesome taste. Didn't expect that. It tastes of potatoes and parsley roots, with a very mild and sweet aftertaste. Totally beats potatoes in my book, now I'm really puzzled why this awesome plant has been totally forgotten in modern agriculture.
  14. Just reading this book: Its the war memoirs of a German sergeant commanding a 8.5 cm mortar crew in Russia and east Prussia from 1943 to the end of the war in 1945. The stuff that happened there every single day is absolutely unimaginable, hundreds and sometimes thousands of soldier slaughtered in battles each day, injured soldiers that were simply left behind, artillery blowing up fellow soldiers next to the author so he gets splattered with body parts and brain mass. Never has the use of the word ''apocalyptic'' been more justified than in this book, the wars fought today seem like harmless incidents compared to this hell.
  15. Huh, odd, guess some people just look thinner than they actually are on photos. Though I'm not a big fan of the BMI system as it does not take muscle and fat ''inbalances'' into account, skinnyfat people with no muscle whatsoever get normal scores while people who exercise rank high on the overweight/obesity scale and so on. What I did today: invented a new game called ''crush that motherf....mosquito''. I've been target of a massive mosquito invasion the past couple of days, now I try to grab those fast moving wobbling bastards with my left hand mid-air and crush them. Its much harder than it sounds but oooh so satisfying. I just killed 28 in the past 30 minutes.
  16. I was seeing it more from the health-point of view, not from the what-girls-dig point of view which should be secondary.
  17. With an awesome Dexter compilation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5_2O5NcB5s
