  1. I know its a little early to criticizes, especially before the beta but.... I notice that in old IE games and in recent gamescom video,.. it benefit from modern technology, I'm talking about spell queue. After a character cast a spell, the character just stops. Make it so you can queue some spells/action/abilties, that way the player don't have to wait until the animation finishes. Like for example; healing spell is a drag in old IE games. It would be nice for the priest to heal x character and then a different character right after that one finishes. Imagine what you can do with offensive spell. I'm sure the hardcore gamer will find a way to time everything perfectly.
  2. I would assume the animation is a work in progress. My guess is that they are playing around with spells and ability before finalizing it. But yes, I do notice the pivot of the spell seem like a generic position, its possible a placeholder.
  3. just saw day 2 gamescom stream. I like the big head idea. A nice fun mode for non-serious gamer. Although i kinda hope they continue playing the game and not stop pass the ogre. On the plus side, beta is very close.
  4. I pledge $250. RPG is always my thing. Baldur's gate 2 is the first RPG I ever played right after diablo 2 (switch is more for a ARPG). Did they ask for your feedback yet, I'm curious about that.

  6. I'm sure there is going to be a lot of UI changes later. Lets wait for beta to see how it works in context. But my first impression is that it is clunky and ugly looking. I'll hold my suggestion until then.

  8. Will lethal traps/event return? it was really noticeable in BG2 where a single trap can kill your character if you are not careful. I actually like it.
  9. Yeah I think most of us would prefer DVD/bluray at a later date rather than digital download.
  10. beta is not a demo. It cannot be "DRM free". When you log in, you help the company iron out bugs from their server.
  11. I'm afraid at this point, the only thing that will live on is the name. Just like it what happened with fallout 3. The game is basically a different game. Besides most of the talents now work in different companies. Not to mention licensing hell. That's why there is pillars of eternity. I'm pretty sure they tried to revive the series but the closest thing we got so far was Dragon age: origins and divinity: original sin. P.S. I notice how similar those two titles are.

  13. I'm dying to play this game but i'm waiting for the physical copy version or the gog version. Plus the guy who did that 1-shot boss kill.... omg, sneaking is amazing. Oh and if anyone giving away steam keys, I like to have one.
  14. I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask but what is the estimated length of the game you guys are aiming for? Oh and by the way, josh if you are in costa mesa area, there is a Titan Arum exhibit (the corpse flower) at orange coast college. It bloomed on Monday but you can still see the plant (free).
  15. I'm disappointed that we have to wait couple of months (might as well wait for release at that rate) to see any footage. I don't care about spoilers or "raw" footage, as I'm a designer AND an adult.
  16. its looks like tuesday update now will be a wednesday. Its been a continuing trend for a few weeks now. with that said, I am skeptical of the late 2014 release date. We went from no footage to release is a bit bizarre.

  18. Interesting update. I was actually expecting a publisher partnership from this kickstarter deal. As for other things. The spells bring back memory. I love the classic d&d spells. No other modern games have a complex spell system. I wonder how powerful the spells will progress late in the game. will we spell death like Power Word Kill, finger of death, or even Meteor swarm. I don't know the progress of your development yet but I hope you guys can pump those maps/dungeon out quick. I really hope we can enjoy a lengthy amount of gameplay.

  21. I like what they did with the UI so far. Its familiar with infinity games in a good way. However, I think they should experiment with different types color/texture on the wood background. This would help the make the game feels more vibrant and alive rather than dull. Not only that, its makes the fonts more visible. In turn the buttons and labels pop out more distinguishing from the stats. BTW, I love the xp bar and the parchment paper.
  22. Hey Obsidian, Can you guys adjust the kickstarter badge appears horizontal rather than vertical. the way it is no makes the page longer to scroll.
  23. I just notice that you guys called it a "teaser", does that implies that a full version gameplay video coming out soon?
