  1. Piss poor survey questions leads to a misleading and piss poor headline... Angry vs. Pleased? I'd give the students behind this survey a F, and fire the professor if it was their idea. That said, no doubt someone's political views likely influence what they think of such things. However, 'Angry' vs 'Pleased', and Republican vs. Democrat in a phone survey is not going to yield a meaningful or accurate survey. 'The margin of sampling error for the complete set of weighted data is +/– 2.9 percentage points at the 95% confidence level.' - oh the hubristic bubble these twits live in....
  2. Actually, a lot of people are under the delusion that their nation has free speech (this is especially true of many who live in the 'Commonwealth'), and while the U.S. has it's first amendment, it is sometimes ignored or twisted (this is especially true in regards to the religious aspect of it, but that's another subject). What's scary to me is not so much the law (no surprise here, and the U.S. has similar abominations on the books, and a plethora of equally atrocious prosecutions and judicial rulings (if you cherish freedom)), or even what happened to Count Dankula. What's really scary is the cultural atmosphere that fostered what happened to Count Dankula. That atmosphere that a generation ago barely existed, is alive, well, and growing throughout the west, and the U.S. is absolutely no exception to this. If you doubt this, go spend time at a random college campus, and chances are you'll come across a plethora of very anti free speech things. Or strike up a conversation with a few random people in their 20s or early 30s, and you're likely to come across at least one person who is perpetually offended, and couldn't give a rats ass about anyone's freedom of speech but theirs or people who they think share their views. The numbers of such folks are on the rise... You can have all of the Constitutional amendments you want, but when a large chunk of the populace by and large doesn't appreciate them, understand them, or even know they exist.... they ultimately will mean a whole lot of poo. Such is the state of almost every one of the first ten amendments (aka 'The Bill of Rights') at this point.
  3. I'd have already pulled the trigger if it wasn't for RAM and GPU prices... Paying more for those two things than everything else combined is not something I've yet been able to swallow. Perhaps if I down enough whiskey first...
  4. I'd go so far as say it's not just ridiculous, it's somewhat scary. The direction much of western civ is going in is a very dark one.
  5. Are there people here actually arguing in favor of a 'universal basic income'? Two questions for those people: A) Where does the money come from? B) Can you tell me how money is created?
  6. Once upon a magical time I played a game. Many many many great videos of this game were made by many a folk. Here are two of my favorites, musically speaking. One of them is also one of my all-time favorite encounters: Heigan the Unclean (original Naxx version). A'lar was fun too of course, especially early on. Vanilla and BC.... whoa those were the days 'Time for FUN!!!!'
  7. He's one of only two people I've ignored on this forum, or any forum ever for that matter.... Am I number 2? Who does number 2 work for? Not sure. It's a secret, to me at least, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was ever mentioned somewhere on these forums. Perhaps SASS?
  8. So just about no lead time at all. Thanks!
  9. Can anyone recall Nvidia's usual lead time as to how far in advance they usually announce a product before it goes on sale?
  10. He's one of only two people I've ignored on this forum, or any forum ever for that matter....
  11. There's a hell of a difference between asking for a 'safe space' and asking that one not be expelled, censored, banned, etc.
  12. In all seriousness... a 1080p gaming race is a near meaningless test of those processors, no matter what graphics card you pair them with.
  13. A white nationalist said it, so it can't be true, let alone considered as an idea... Kill the messenger!!!!
  14. Surprised that made it on the MSM, let alone MSNBC. The professor is right on, except he left out Israel's involvement, and the potential involvement of China (who is 100% with Russia and Syria). The admiral represents the typical warmongering talking head. He acknowledges the numbers of the disaster, even says they're bigger!, but refuses to see that the policies he supports is the very reason for the disaster. Hubris, insanity, stupidity.... whatever it is, it's an ideal that will eventually lead to the destruction of everything he presumably cares about, including him.
  15. I wouldn't ever do such a thing. I fully expect Americans to put someone in office in 2020 who will lie to them, not represent their interests, and do anything but actually look out for the interests of the people of the United States of America. It just won't be Trump they elect. I'll put my money or whatever where my virtual mouth is. If there are any takers, I am saying that Trump will absolutely not be President after the 2020 election. Super safe bet as I see it, far safer even than when I wagered Trump would win long before he actually did.
  16. One thing is certain: Trump will be a one termer, at best. Doesn't matter who goes up against him. Get ready for Cuomo, Oprah, or perhaps worse. If we make it that far...
