Its sounds rudimentary but I cant tell you how many times I hit my shin or forehead going through watertight hatches. And dont get me started on the ladders between every deck! They are so steep you are much more likely to fall while going up than down. Luckily being on carriers the whole time while on sea duty, 10' seas werent that big of a deal. But we used to go hang out in the hangar bay during UNREP's (underway replenishment) and stuff and watch the gator freighters and other bob around in the ocean. I know you were a Marine but I think I remember you mentioning that you spent some time on a Navy ship? Are you a Trusty Shellback?

Theres no chill in Marines boot camp, toughest in the US armed forces. Now the Navy boot camp is a completely different animal. Theres some yelling at you and physical stuff, to weed out the weak of mind and body, but we didn't even have an obstacle course for example.

We tried that and wound up getting talked into the X1 system and 95MB internet... I got three extra movie channels and a remote I can talk to (which I never do because I always forget about that capability). The single biggest quality of life improvement for me was now I can record a bazillion shows at once (more like eight) and watch them from any TV, not just the box it was recorded on.

Its on Fox so even a basic HD antenna should do the job. A quick Google search shows results for as low as $10 so it will pay for itself within one month. Meanwhile in my household, Comcast bends me over to the tune of $200+ every month.

Heh, by my senior year in HS I had one required course and six electives. So I did what every self respecting slacker senior would do, took: Sewing, cooking, woodshop (1st words out of the teachers mouth "don't make any smoking bowls"), clay class (same instructions as woodshop), psychology and sociology.
