  5. Actually, I have no idea where from this avatar came from, just piced from the internets. Also, necrophiles does not roam internet and demand to put dead girls and boys you could have sex into the games\cartoons\moveies\books\everything else and demand that people be more acceptable to the issue of relationship with the recently dead. Guess who do?
  6. Calm down, it's just a precaution. The fact that PE was Kickstarted mean devs will listen to fans. The scary part is - the devs will listen to fans. So better quench furry cancer before it growns to the point when some dev may accedently look at it and say: "Well, if people want it..."
  7. Games Workshop and Warhammer universe are so successfull at repelling furries because both Skaven and lizardmen races had no females shown, all lizardmen are clones, and all skaven females kept in slavery as breededs in near-animalistic state. I, for one, treat them like furries
  8. There's few thing I hate more than time limits in RPGs. They act like sword upon my head. That's why I considered Addiction from Mask of the Betrayer the main flaw that almost crippled the game. It is ok for some side or mini quests, but for main one - Fallout's time limit was one of the main complaints after release.
  9. Furries ruin everything. EVERYTHING. But there are some rare issues when I'm perfectly ok with animalistic\beastlike races. Best example - Skaven from Warhammer. main reason - furries can't make porn of them and they are not fluffy cute critters but badass cowardly cruel plague and flea ridden cannibal rats. This, I can tolearate.
  10. 1. Companion dead. 2. Necromancy. 3. New companion. 4. PROFIT!!!
  11. I prefer the situation where you can influence companions' alignment and character, not shape them completely. That way we can avoid situation we had in Dragon Age 2 where all-accepting all-bisexual all-tolerating companions would stay with character once you get enough rivalry\friendship, even after performing most heinous and offensive acts. There should be situation when companions will say "No!" or turn unto you no matter how high you persuasion or such skill is. I have no desire to see another DA2 situation, where Mother Theresa will say "Okay" when you butcher Jesus just after his Second Coming.
  12. Ancient Domains of Mistery is back and kicking! The father of high-quality rogue-like RPGs is back. More to that - Thomas Biskup is developing ADOM II along with regular vanilla ADOM updates. Here's his blog. Super-hardcore gameplay, flexibility, survival, dozens of races, classes, hundreds of monsters, items, spells, artifacts, taing, companions and so on and so on. Crowd-funding campaign already gathered 2 times more than was expected (91000$) but as with PE you can plenge your support. If you are familiar with other rogue-RPGs like NetHack or Dwarf Fortress then you most probably already know ADOM, but in case you are new, then you definetely should try it. It has ACSII graphics, but that is exactly the case when graphics does not matter. Like games of old it is gameplay and complex system that makes the game shine. With ACSII graphics you can implement hundreds of monsters that require no graphics, but each has their own unique features. At first it looks extremely difficult to understand the system and controls, but once you memorised main keys everything turns out easy...and fun!
  13. IGN Master of Orion 3 - 9.2/10 Dragon Age 2 - 8.5/10 Oh, the irony.
  14. A From 34:30 - Gabe Newell Come to think of it - Dragon Age: Origins acted just like that. They presented DA:O as a spiritual successor of Baldur's Gate. origins had many flaws and fandom expected them to be fixed and tweaked. But DA2 was nothing like Origins. It hardly could be called RPG at all. BioWare tried to tradeoff RPG fans for more action and arcade auditory, but failed to compensate "old" fan loss. that was the fate of many "inovative" overhauls. - Tiberium Twilight - a huge fiasco that effectively crippled the franchize. - Master of Orion 3 - same story, cmplete overhaul and a complete disaster. - Heroes of Might and Magic - 4 and 6 were total failures, fifth were sucessful by sticking to 3's mechanics. - Syndicate - another failure due to "new EA vision of the game". - Civilization 5 - almost deserted and forced to add game to free Steam addition(story with X-Com preorder) And there's another story: - X-Com tried to keep to original series' "spirit" and were successful. - Starcraft 2 - were able to repeat the success as majority trasferred from Brood Wars to S2. - Deus Ex: HR - developers repeated their previous game success by refining Deus Ex and avoiding radical changes. Result - huge financial success. - Dead Space, Portal 2, Skyrim, New Vegas - all avoided total overhauls and kept to polishing the game. All were successful. DA2 were the victim of failed expectations. Fans wanted bigger and better Origins and got game so different from what they were waiting for that even after 1.5+ years after release holywars are still raging.
  15. Well, developers apologized for boss battles in Deus Ex: HR. In fact, that is THE only time i ever heared developers apologized for something that annoyed the fans. Even after horrible Tiberium Twilight fiasco, EA ketp telling that consumers are too short-shighted and unable to see the greatness of their game.
  16. DA2 shunned players BioWare managed to attract with successfull DA:O.
  17. I don't want to see: - Instant kills. - 10 second protection spells. Or 30 second that doesn't matter. - Useless spells, obviously.
  18. Judging by what I've seen, PE forums need separate subforum called "Romance and relationships". That romance folk have their fifth topic closed already.
  19. In NWN: Hordes of the Underdark in case of death you find yourself in a "private" plane conversing with the Reaper that can bring you back. That kind of solution is not bad.
  20. Slow increase will be reasonable if attributes have influence. In AD&D and GURPS you can see the difference between 9 and 10. But when you end up with hundreds of points and stats like 60 or so, it is hard to see the progression.
  21. There's a huge difference betwen landmark and "go here" arrow. BG2 landmarks were a common knowledge.
  22. DA:O was good because it was different. Had it own place, different from AD&D. But then DA2 happened and turned promising game into arcade linear jRPG slasher with primitive dialogues, animu emo characters and useless stats. The success of DA:O was ruined.
  23. I also want to have a Inn-related encounters like from Fallout, where you are awaken at night by some shouts from nearby room and discovering that some guy taken hostage his girl.
