Yeah Hard is no joke it is not insanley hard but is a challange. But let's face it. This is a roleplaying game. It plays like an action game sometimes but it is a turn based fighting D@) system if your Char is a beast on paper he will be a beast in the game. I play a gurps Star Wars game and if My char progressed as quickly from EXP in that it would be hard for the storyteller to not have us fighting major baddies the whole time. It is a video game that is supposed to take you about 50hrs to play tops. Enjoy! It is still really fun and the story is cool too. That's why all of us dorks forsdake any type of social life or meaningful relationships to play through the thing three time in a row. And then we come and talk about it on this board. " While we should be working " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Try it on hard without any stims/gloves/gauntlets/implants/belts etc. etc. etc. These items give too much of an advatange. Besides, a TRUE Jedi or Sith doesn't use stims to make him stronger than he really is... If this post is senseless, I'm trying to get 600 posts. Only one more to go! Let's make another stupid post somewhere else! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I want 600 posts too.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sure, just keep posting on these forums for a few months. You can get 600 posts .

Lets hope its the former and not the latter... Oh man... I love this line.

Well obviously if KotOR 2 is a success, I don't see a reason why they wouldn't develop a KotOR 3 or a 4, 5, 6... It could even be like the FF Series. If LucasArts sees it as a profitable venture, they're not going to put it on hold indefinetly. Maybe now they aren't in a financially "sound" position but heh... who knows? PS : YAY 600 posts!

The PC version was delayed because MS wanted it that way. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If that is so then some meatbag will pay!

Really? Where was that, I hadn't noticed -
While I try to reserve judgement until games ACTUALLY come out, KotOR 2 is starting to look pretty bad... (

I've never seen any standard 6800 series card clocked that high. You should really bring it down a bit if you want the card to last. I find that you'll get better performance if you unlock the extra pipelines and shaders (That is if you haven't done it already...). It offers a 33% increase in performance when operating at the same clock speeds.
-
Using stock 6800 or 6800GT cooling, you can go safely up to 420/1150 w/ all 16 pipes and not having any heating issues. Ofcourse, if you have the ultra fan which is twice the size, you can go up by quite a bit. You can do around 460/1220 which is pretty damn good. IMO, the Gainward cooling system is the best. It is dual slot even for the GT and has 2 huge fans not to mention an exhaust. Compare with Now you see why I favour Gainward... By the way, I think that memory is slightly more important than core clock as the eVGA 6800 Ultra Extreme Edition which has a core clock 80MHz lower than the X800 XT PE still beats the X800 XT PE. The difference between the memory is 60MHz. Therefore, I think its safe to assume that if 60MHz of memory makes more of a difference than 80MHz in core clock, Memory speed is more important. Besides, nothing can come close to the 38.4GB/S memory bandwith of the eVGA 6800 Ultra EE besides the X850 XT PE at 37.7GB/S. This is all number crushing and it really has a very small impact on gameplay.... For a little review on the 6800 Ultra EE look here.

GPU Temperature - 6800 GTO (softmod to 16/6 and OC to 400/1.1) Idle Core : 57C Ambient : 42C Load Core : 65C - 85C (Depending on the game) Ambient : 50C - 57C Its a bit high which is why I'm considering getting the NV Silencer 5. The only problem is I'll have to get a replacement bracket which very few places carry. My card is a 2 slot solution so the exhaust system won't be much of use if its being blocked...

Is that 50 for idle or load? And is that for GPU or CPU?

I hope the delivery isn't delayed from the snow <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That would truly suck... But I know the dude at my local game store which is the only reason I pre-ordered. I hate pre-orders because they take forever to deliver your game but I'm getting the first copy from my store so I'm pretty much guaranteed it will arrive the day of its release. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You pre-ordered eh? Good luck wit that lol u will get it maybe on time or not. I would rather go to the store and buy it when the store opens and i wouldnt skip school for that. Its just a game, nothing much. You can always wait till more copies come out. And it comes out i think the 5th of feb which is next week saturday. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lucky for me, I don't have to go to school Besides, I already said I'm pretty much guaranteed to have it on time. Go to the store if you wish, but you're going to have to walk sucker .

70C? That's insane. Have you ever considered getting extra cooling? Then again, 70C could be normal since I never bother measuring my CPU Temperature...

dont be silly. when has lucasarts ever change their strategy when it comes to the pc version? [/sarcasm] <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Never... I don't know why I brought it up... Silly me That's because Bioware is fairly competent. On the otherhand... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Obsidian isn't bad. Besides, they've got some of the best folks in the field working for them. Anyways, in the end its LucasArts who decides to release the patches and things like that. -
I have been waiting for this game since July 2004... Somehow, I've managed to survive the last few months (somehow...). This is the longest I've been waiting for a game with the exception of HW2. I didn't really care about HL2 too much but I got it anyways to see what the hype was about. It wasn't a great game but the engine was probably the best I've seen in a game. I would give it a pretty low rating though...

We'll, we had 3 updates for KotOR 1. I'm assuming that we will have 2 or 3 patches for KotOR 2 aswell. Unless ofcourse LucasArts changes their PC Gamer support strategy... -
I believe that Mike Gallo has said February 10th is when the game appears on shelves. Joakim has posted a little link to it... Here we go :

Hmm... are you going to start 'rebalancing' it right away? (w00t) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> :D Well I have to handed it to you, Hades. That's a pretty great attitude. If you don't like something about the game, then mod it. I knew you would see the "light" ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So its confirmed huh? February 10th... Thanks for telling us Hades

What will you do on the date of KotOR 2's release? 1) I will get up early... early like... 5:00 AM 2) I will call in sick... (umm... I have contracted KotOR 2 anxiety syndrome) 3) I will wait at the front door (even though it will be snowing) until Purolator/UPS/Courier arrives with my copy 4) I will carefully place the beautiful DVD/CD in my drive and wait at the screen until it says 100% 5) Ah.... I will admire the desktop for a second and the beautiful icon that says "Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 The Sith Lords" 6) Gotta click on that beautiful icon 7) I will spend atleast half an hour choosing my character's portrait I will then spend the rest of the day playing KotOR 2 reading ALL the dialogue and talking with all the characters and reloading to view all possible conversation choices...

Huh? I'm sorry, you'll have to enlighten me...

I'm near 5 or 6. Tell me doctor, am I going to survive? PLEASE, I don't wanna not have KotOR 2!

System Requirements for the PC version
Darth Ni replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
A little off topic, I know... Yea, a Vaygr BC can destroy a Hiigaran Battlecruiser. You have to constantly move the ship during combat. Although it won't avoid the ion beams of the Hiigy BC, you have to ensure that the Vaygr BC's Trinity Cannon is facing the BC as it dishes out a lot of damage. Also, the heavy missile battery on the top of the ship does to quite a bit of damage aswell. Ofcourse, nothing matches up to the power of the heavy ion cannons...
