Phh, the fail lies in that games cant be scary. You just go "Oh gee, another room with blood and guts smeared all over the walls? Thats really scary, Im totally scared right now.. yup.. sure am... I wish theyd throw in some totally non-clich

Tom Cruise, John Travolta and half the cast of "My name is Earl". What the hell do these people get out of being in that sect, really?

Oh. I just naturally assumed that he, like all male swimmers nowadays, had had his genitals removed at an early age and replaced by carbon fibre hydroplanes in order to minimise water drag coefficient. How silly of me.

I personally think 4chan should get more crap than they do now. The whole site is just, except for the 5 guys in the other channels, people posting ever increasingly vile manga porn. SA is way funnier, just look at Uncyklopedia vs. Encyklopedia Dramatica.
-
Arent swimmers always pressured to go faster? Isnt that sort of the thing with the whole sport?
-
Ive always wondered how the peole at 4chan manages to organise themselves into doing anything since the forums are completely chaotic. Its essentially just an old webchat where messages are stacked on top of eachother sorted by timestamp. You write something and a minute later it will be gone in the flood of messages.

Germans also speak backwards, even with their numbers( "I want two and fifty pies" =52 pies ). Although I hear the french are worse in that they cant say "eighty" but must instead say "four times twenty". Swedish is awesome and since we vikinged britain back in the day, we share the same sound structure of not speaking backwards. Whereas a jerry would say "He has the boat sunk" we say "He sunk the boat" like sensible people. And we dont treat objects like women either.

The Force Unleashed 'Ultimate Sith Edition'
Kaftan Barlast replied to Purkake's topic in Computer and Console
I think SWFU is as close a definition to "mediocre" as you can get now. It works, it looks alright, it plays alright but it never becomes anything special. I was bored to tears after the first levels, but I finished it just because I wanted to see the ending.. which was anticlimactic and pointless. -
I have nothing against difficult games, but I dont like games that are hard because they're broken. But with me and Mr. Mud on the other side I believe its a draw at 2-2, with a win for us if you count me twice ( which you should because my opinions are so dense they outweigh everyone elses)

It also doesnt explain why everyone is so upset that swimmers are using modern technology. If the new swimsuits cost about as much as the old ones, why cant everyone just use them?

Growing up with one extreme and then seriously think that the other extreme on the far end of the scale is the solution, is pretty moronic in my book. Especially if you call yourself a philosopher.

Today I had coffee and ate a cookie, then I worked way too slow all day. Eeew! I thought my old wide-necked hairmetal Charvel was uncomfortable to play, that thing must be a railroad to arthritis. I like narrow, thin necks that you can wrap your whole hand around for support and where you can fret two strings with one fingertip. Its sweet. random insight: if you play a twelvestring recording backwards, it will sound like a tramporgel

Dude, it's friggin germany. They'll release it as long as it starts on more than one computer.

After reading all of Pop's links aswell as doing a fair bit of research myself, Im wondering if this thread shouldnt have been called "Was Ayn Rand a psychotic lunatic whose grip on reality and other humans was as a weak as a bridge made from damp biscuits?" The woman was completely, raving mad. And her fantasies about how an unregulated market economy works is just pure utopia. She says "under a free system, no one could aquire a monopoly on anything" when its in fact, the other way around- in a free market, monopolies are unavoidable as there are no laws against them. Every company would work towards destroying all competitors and securing a monopoly so they could have complete control over their part of the market, thereby guaranteeing a continuous unthreatened profit. The other way they could go, which we also have laws against, is for the companies to cooperate in groups, cartels, in order to control the market and guarantee profit. The end result is the same. The real free market, is not about free as in freedom, it is about the abscense of rules and regulations. This will allow individuals and companies to pursue profit by any means possible and necessary, getting rid of competion and doing everything in their power to gain control the market.

I was thinking about writing another short mockery of Ayn Rand this time, but I just cant be bothered to read her stuff so its not going to happen. Its a shame

All 3D glasses will cause headaches and all sorts of weirdness, the brain is just not equipped to handle that kind of abuse. And this is the kind of 3D where it renders two images(lefteye, righteye) interlaced over the screen and the goggles filter out the one your eye is not supposed to see? Thats headache central alright, but it can get kind of interesting I suppose. It takes a lot of performance though since your graphics card needs to render two images at the same time. example of stereoscopic interlaced image

You had probable cause, you did the right hing. Most people would have done the same thing. If someone if pulling something sneaky on you, you have to sneak right back. Its like, if someone in the dorm is stealing from the fridge, its alright to leave some laxative-prepared bait out to punish and deter them.

It's one of lifes great ironies that you're supposed to make the most important decisions for your future, at the age when your stupidity levels are going through the roof. And career counseling is just idiotic, its completely impossible to try and guess what kind of jobs will be readily available 1-2 years from now, to even pretend that it can be done is silly. When I was about to go to uni, they said 'become a teacher'. It only took a year and there was a huge surplus of newly examinated teachers. Rubbish. ..but the decision is simple, the world needs alot more nurses than it does accountants.

Fallout and Fallout 2 had aliens aswell.. and Dr Who.... and a godzilla footprint. And I just saw a screenshot with a crashed Star Trek shuttle. So dont come talking about how MZ breaks with the Fo setting. -

Mothership Zeta seems awesome. Stupid, but cool nevertheless. Just like some parts of Fallout. -
Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 Will Not Have LAN Support
Kaftan Barlast replied to Magister Lajciak's topic in Computer and Console
Multiplayer IS lan, as far as Im concerned. You want your buddies right there with you, everything else is just an emergency solution. This is an increadibly stupid move on Blizzards part. -
Emptying a whole clip on an enemy at point blank range and missing every single shot, is the bread-and-butter of turnbased combat. Without catastrofic failiures, the victories wouldnt feel as sweet.

A lot of times, they will outsource the conversion to some dodgy asian/eastern europe outfit that will only do whats absolutely essential to make it run on windows. That way you get ports that are not just un-optimized, but ports that require massive amounts of computing power for the simplest thing. And then you have stuff like forgetting to remove framerate caps so the game will lag along at 25-30fps no matter how monstrous a computer you run it on.
