  1. That's just how most of us males are, Kaffy. Are you one of the rare breeds that can actually do more than one thing at once? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have excellent multitasking capabilities but the way he does it is just nuts: *picks up phone, starts talking* -Who is it? *talks, ignores me* -Is it X about the thingie? *talks, ignores* -Dude, who are you talking to?! *ignores* 5 MIN LATER: -That was X about the thingie.
  2. I prefer your Sam Rockwell one... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me too "
  3. I still dont get where all the hype is comming from. I have no interest in this game whatsoever even though I am a veteran FPS whore
  4. I dont like Anime actually.. I just knew an anime-appreciating female was a bait you otaku's couldnt resist. MuahhahahHa! .muHAhahh ...hahah.... hah.. ha "
  5. Ive got a friend who is completely hopeless, if hes doing something while you attempt to contact him he doesnt react even though you KNOW he can hear you. He just plain ignores you. Then he makes a point of it by saying "Yes, what is it?" after like 5 minutes just so youll really know that he could hear you all along and was just ignoring you.
  6. To be specific: a. rendering (graphics) engine has been re-written from scratch b. toolset has been re-written from scratch c. pathfinding has been re-written from scratch d. the GUI has been (mostly?) re-written from scratch. (Now uses XML) The rest of the engine has been heavily modified. Thus I do think the proper name is Electron. Aurora is dead AFAIAC when it comes to nwn2. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dont get me wrong now, but despite all that, many details in the screenshots still look Aurora. Perhaps this is just because of the way levels are constructed with tiles and whatnot? But then again, the KoTORs had maps built the old way and they also looked Aurora. Well, Im looking forward to creating the best CRPG adventures humanity has ever known
  7. I cant wait until its here! Im actually far more excited about the Wacom than getting a shiny new laptop And merging layers is called "drop" in Painter, you can access it under the layers menu or use the icons on the layers popup-thingie. I suppose Adobe must have registered "merge layers", hence the confusing name.
  8. Does thou mock me, good sir? *unsheaths rapier* Have at it, you shameless buffoon!
  9. oh, thats just bloody great.. someone finally scans it and its a muppet who dont know how to setup the scanner to work with printed material (notice the weird grain/raster)
  10. http://www.abandonia.com/index2.php Its my favorite abandon ware site, they have a HUGE selection of games which include almost every game that was released for DOS in the late eighties and early to mid-ninties.
  11. This is me on my birthday :D
  12. I like to use both, Painter to paint the image and then PS to edit it.
  13. It is done. A Wacom Intuos3 A4 for me Yeah, Painter IX is friggin' awesome. Ive got a huge advantage since Im pretty much the only one at Uni who uses it, the rest (inlcuding the teachers) are stuck trying to use PS which is garbage in comparison.
  14. ATARi arent exactly known to be competent at PR and creating hype, but given that it begins now it may be released as early the off-christmas season(February). Thats if ATARi follows the same kind of bussiness model they teach us at gamedev Uni
  15. If you REALLY want *THE BEST* camera then Id advise you to check out: Hasselblad of Sweden Im sure youve heard of them, wether you can afford one or not.. thats a different matter " (Even their old H1 camera with house, digital back and lens would costs as much as a brand new Volvo) and its not exactly the kind of gear you take with you holiday either.
  16. I talked to one of the guys in my class(who is the graphics line same as me) and he spoke so warmly of the A4 that Im yet again sitting with my finger on the "order" button.
  17. What are ye waiting for, people?! STFU AND GET SCANNING, DAMNIT!! *rage*
  18. But we will be playing? ) ..we could just do a "dumb" version where everyone could see what everyone was doing otherwise ...although I believe that would negate some players "special 1337 p0warz"
  19. What you do is make a high-poly model with several millions of polygons that looks really good but is impossible to render in realtime. Then you make a sort of texture called a normalmap from that model and put it on a simplified low-poly version of the same model. That way it looks like you are watching a multi-million poly model with beautiful detail but its isnt really http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normal_mapping
  20. Yup, it was the same with Q3.. I dont think I made it longer than 1/3rd before I got too bored to keep playing. I read that ID didnt initially want to make D3 but the popularity of Wolfenstein made them change their minds and so they added a game to the engine just for no reason at all:
  21. But there is a big warning; you might be able to run the game without normalmaps on a low-end computer but since the graphics rely on normalmapping to such a huge extent, youll miss everything. Its like some brainiac I met: -I didnt think Doom3 looked anything special. -No? -Nah, pretty low-poly too.. Hl2 pwns it -Do you have normalmaps swicthed off? -Yeah, why? -Gah..
  22. Well... you are what you is, you is what you am and a cow dont make ham (so, yes, it probably will)
  23. Its ok, Eldar. I was a hot chick too
  24. Maybe he's got moral objections about Japanese products? Kind of like how some people dont buy clothes made in Bangladesh or drink Cocacola? That Kodad 74- seems good, but its a b*tch about digital cameras because the manufacturers dont provide you with any value that measures lag(how long it takes between the time when you push the button to the camera taking the picture) unless its very expensive proffessional cameras.
