Yeah, I tried to convince him to release the still image anyway, but, apparently, I've failed Nice try though. I imagine we will see more info in about a month or so, so they don't conflict with PR for Tyranny. Same. I expect a PoE2 crowdfunding campaign announcement come the New Year. They would be wise to hit the end of February to early March so as to take advantage of US tax returns. TTON did, and I've expected that's why it did so well. For starters, let's hope they won't go for crowdfunding Even if they choose to do so, though, they can announce the game (with some pics and maybe a short video ) , say next month, and start the campaign in February.

Survey for the Future Part 2

The good thing with t-b and rtwp systems is that they are both good systems if they're designed with care and there are enough people to support games using them. And as much as I prefer rtwp over t-b in party based rpgs, I'm willing to play all the t-b ones too. -
Survey for the Future Part 2

InXile had a voting for the combat system of Numenera and turn-based won over rtwp for like 1%. So you can say backers were 50-50 about it. Good thing is combat is not supposed to be often and it can be solved in different ways. That means a dialogue option during combat or some other weird stuff can end it sooner. Wasteland 2 had fun turn-based combat but it could be annoying some times when misses happen often and there are many enemies spread out in the field. Badly designed action point management system could make it even more frustrating at times. The only party based iso-rpg with turn-based combat I liked was Divinity Original Sin, because of its well designed encounters and super fun mechanics. I'm all in for rtwp system in general. Best invention for controlling multiple characters at the same time ever. -
What is so difficult about spelling Aumaua? Anyway. I believe we'll have an announcement of Pillars 2 soon (hope before 2017) since there's been so much teasing the last months; and really hope they won't go kickstarter this time. Tyranny looks so nteresting just because of that: the team didn't care about pleasing monolithic old-school gamers to get funds. They took what they theough was good about Pillars and added what they though will make fresh and interesting features. My only objection (and not a strong one) is that they went for classless system. I believe party-based games are better with classes (since you'll end up specializing each member in a "class" anyway); classless is better for single-character rpgs, imho. Hope Pillars 2 will be more open-minded.

Disapointed In Obsidian! ;)
Sedrefilos replied to Kelryth's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
We'll it's been a revival of the genre since like 2012. There are many other iso-rpgs like pillars by other companies. I don't know if you knew and just didn't know about Pillars. If you don't then you can check out Wasteland 2, Shadowrun Returns, Divinity Original Sin and others that I might not remember now -
Tbh, the only think I care to know about this interview is how CA envisions the perfect rpgs. And I have to say, I like what he thinks about that. Why he left Obsidian is something we'll never know and we shouldn't care about. As soon as his contribution to later titles is for the better of the genre, I'm just fine.

Survey for the Future Part 2

Apart from just being rule books, all settings have a tone and aesthetic/art style that heir creators imagine when they write about those worlds that makes them distinguishable. I doubt we'll ever see an offcial Warhammer or D&D product (made by Games Workshop or Wizards) that has, say, a manga aesthetic/art style. I know people like to imagine things in their imaginary fan art style, but, personally, I like that companies decide and keep their art style in their official products. Third companies that made side products can or maybe must respect that. PS. I mostly dislike fan art -

Maybe we'll see a more Icewind Dale-ish Pathfinder game. You know, mostly traveling and dungeon crawling with a full pre-made party and less of a sigle-character, complex story, deep roleplay game. It'll be fun -
Another thing I'd like to see (side-topic here) is, when you travel from one place to another, instead of a loading screen, have -Dragon Age style- a line drawn on the map showing the route of the party as they travel. Then if a -random or not- encounter happens, it could be related to the area they are currently in while travelling. More immersive imo.
-
Random encounters by spawning random trash enemies to beat up is an annoying thing of the past and it should stay there. Now, random scripted encouters (I mean chosen randomly by a pool of events) could be something good if they have some interesting side story or whatever (something creative, like "superman's parents" in Dragon Age or whatever - I leave it to the devs ) I wouldn't object.

I don't believe there is a point in talking about originality, since we're asked which established ip we want to see in an upcoming iso-rpg. This is unoriginal by itself in any case. The point is if the given companies will make it any good of a game. Of all the choices I was given, I was mostly familiar with Bethesda, Blizzard and Bioware. Between these 3, I believe Blizzard will make it best gameplay/control-wise and will give it a nice linear epic story, but nothing special. Bioware will make it more interesting story-wise but less good gameplay-wise (although not bad) and Bethesda... I don't know - I think they'll screw it up. Maybe it'll have good locations graphics-wise? -

Well, let's hope this survey is for the better and more interesting iso-rpgs are to come! Hope this is the beginning of a new golden era of the genre and we haven't still seen its peak -

Yeah I get it, you think it's not special. Others feel it is (apparently since it is so popular). Why do you care so much? Just avoid it and play whatever you want. And why have you decide to talk about it here? Not the forum, sorry. Maybe the PF official forums or an rpg genral forum is your place. Check there. -

lol ok, I haven't even played PF in my life. I'm not butthurt, just mentioning what's the purpose of the servey. So now you can, maybe, get over your buttache for not asking you "tell us why r u so meh, about Pathfinder?" Apparently you have some personal grudge on PF "copying" DnD? But this is not the forum to talk about it. Sorry. -

I left in indifferent with Blizzard. Bethesda was the "lost interest" for me -

They don't care why you are mehish about a particular franchise. They care what you like and dislike about a franchise you're interested in. -
Survey for the future

I "asked" for this one too hahaha. Man I'd love to see one (in the Old World not Age of Sigmar though). It doesen't need to be deep story-wise, since the Warhammer world isn't built to support such, imho. Just delve into some abandoned dwarven stongholds, desert cities, haunted castles and beastmen infested forests for the loot (and stop some generic big bad boss), would be enough for me :D -

I "asked" for a pathfinder game. Never played it but I really like the looks of it. Very adventury hehe. DnD got its chance many times - I'd like to see this one too
