Black and White and Arx Fatalis both had symbol driven casting. Still going to be easier with a stylus though and more accurate. I don't think either of those games had anywhere near 380 spell combo's either. As for gesture driven casting. Well thats a little beyond the DS capabilities. But it's not beyond the Revolutions. The controller can act just like a wand or even a baton, if you ever wanted to direct your own orchestra or something.
