  1. I think Devil May cry was worse. But that was a different era for me games wise.
  2. Nope. Won't find me appologising for what my ancestors did. Black people were very involved in the slave trade. They just sold other tribes into slavery. They helped a lot when it came to finding villiages to aquire slaves from too. If it's any consolation Lucius I dont hold you personally responsible for the Viking raids
  3. The first boss was tough. It was like hitting a brick wall since the game didnt really prepare you for what was coming. After that it leveled off a bit. Definately not the sort of thing you would want to try if you hadnt played that sort of game for a while (like I hadnt).
  4. There is an article over at Eurogamer. Dosnt say a lot though.
  5. http://www.webchats.tv/webchat.php?ID=260 On Monday Miyamoto was invited to Paris to receive a knighthood 'of the Order of Arts and Letters' from the French Ministry of Culture - the first time a videogame designer has been granted such a prestigious award.
  6. How different is it from the original ?
  7. Yep it's a VERY slow starter.
  8. Really getting into Atellier Iris now. Has some really interesting features. Like my local shop has grown from selling a couple of useless items to selling lots of great stuff because of the synthasis system. It's also completely packed now people even wait outside. The relationship with the vendor has progressed as well. Which has been really fun to watch (especially her and Lita taking shots at each other while Klein is totally oblivious to it all). I knew I should have bought a Dragons Tongue when I had the chance though. The chefs disapeared and now I'm going to have to get one the hard way. I also need an animal print to complete the bunny suit. I need to do some weapon research and combine some manner crystals as well. And complete the globe (which I think opens a world map).
  9. Games worth playing would be nice. http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/plat_s...sp?platform=PSP has to be one of the most insipid top 10's ever.
  10. Well according to gamefaqs Harvest Moon predates the Sims by several years. I know it does. Sims was out...what...2000? Wacky. Edit: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Really nailed those quotes Yep the Sims was 2000. Seems like a lot longer though.
  11. Well according to gamefaqs Harvest Moon predates the Sims by several years. I was married to the harvest goddess in Back to Nature. I'm not letting her stay a statue.
  12. The Harvest Goddess has turned to stone and the Harvest Sprites need your help to bring her back. You need to collect Musical Notes throughout the game in hopes of restoring her to her former self. There are 100 Musical Notes in the game and to collect the notes you must do a variety of different things, some more challenging than others. Such as shipping a certain number of items, winning a festival or making friends with the wild animals found around your farm. Only by collecting a certain number of notes will the Harvest Goddess come back! Harvest Moon: Magical Melody is filled with features that Harvest Moon fans have come to expect in a Harvest Moon title plenty of crops, a variety of animals to care for, tons of festivals to participate in and loads of events to create a fun and entertaining game play experience. Features: Play as either a boy or girl! Each gender has 10 potential spouses! Compete against a rival farmer! Your productivity will be judged on a daily basis against that of your rival
  13. Not in my experiences. I have used a keyword system though where there is a list of keywords which will trigger a specific response topic for an NPC. Similiar principle to how something like EQ works.
  14. I think dialogue is good when you dont have a very complete picture of the character. That way your not constantly coming up against having to choose the best fit. Rather you can go with the flow to a degree. However when it comes to games with different playable races. The limitations are very apparent. If on the other hand you have a very complete picture of the character then you those hints are not needed. What is needed, is some way for the character to interact with the rest of the populace which the keyword system allows. With such a complete character picture pre written dialogue has nothing to offer and in most circumstances will only serve to act as a barrier to expression. If there is to be any sort of evolution. It will be from the keyword side of things. Shaping your own dialogue around specific keywords. If you understand your character. Then you will understand what methods they will use within certain key catagories. The only time that the keywords will be the same is if you dont have a character picture. Of course one of the things about pre written dialogue is having a degree of replayability by choosing a different option. But if you want to choose the same option then the dialogue is the same regardless of the character. Imagination has always been at the core of roleplaying games. I do agree in part though. Since you have people playing CRPGs who have no particular interest in PnP.
  15. If your omnipresent , then driving isnt really an issue.
  16. If you know your character then you dont need hints. Your characters personality will already be clear. There are many instances where you dont get the sort of dialogue option you want. Which means you have no choice but to break character because that is one of the limits of the dialogue driven system. While keywords give you an objective but not the structure of the dialogue itself. So for example, you can threaten someone. But how you put across that threat is never specifically revealed.
  17. Thinking of moving ?
  18. How are you actually playing out your characters personality with pre-written dialogue options ? If anything you are playing as close to your characters personality as the dialogue allows. Or you are simply using the written dialogue as a route to a personality which has very little to do with it being your character. Everything you do loses/gains you potential players. Thats just the way it is. Nothing at all to do with bad game design.
  19. Don't keep your toothbrush in the bathroom. Although Mythbusters did an experiment where they kept them outside the bathroom and they still picked up fecal bacteria.
  20. I either drink filtered or bottled water. I'm sure theres nothing wrong with drinking out the toilet though..
  21. Gameplay send them a day in advance. Sometimes two days. Onimusha 4 arrived on wednesday last week.
  22. If you have a blockbusters in your area see if they are renting any 360 games. Other than that enjoy your new doorstop till Oblivion is released :D
  23. I like the idea of one less bloody thing under the TV.
