  1. I really liked Jeremy Soule's work in Guild Wars. It was amazing, well some of the tracks. That being said I can't stand the music in K1. Not only is it synthesized, but it has a very welcome to the supermarket feel. I couldn't tell if I was trying to maintain peace on Manaan or cleaning up aisle 5. Mark Griskey had some amazing tracks in Kotor2 and I think that a lot of his music set the tone for many levels. Didn't really like any of his battle music though. But levels like Peragus and Telos were really enthralling for me because of the music. If I had to pick a composer I would pick Soule, but if I had to pick between Kotor1's soundtrack and Kotor2's I would pick Kotor2.
  2. I liked KOTOR2 much more than KOTOR1 because I had more fun playing KOTOR2. Try telling me I am wrong.
  3. Blue for me. Even if I go DS. Black Robes with blue lightsaber = If I dual-wield I go one blue and one green. Two lightsabers of the same color look wrong to me.
  4. Exile: No that's ok G0-T0 you don't need to come with us. G0-T0: Ok.
  5. All you can hope for now is that they learned a lesson and will be a better company for it in the future.
  6. I think the Exile was probably the padawan of a master that we never heard of. Also, I may be wrong about this, but I think after your basic training *i.e. Younglings with Yoda* you begin to get more advanced training from one master in a specific area. For example lightsaber training from one master, force training from another, diplomacy training from another, etc. I don't know.
  7. How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie-pop? The world may never know.
  8. Yeah I think KOTOR2 deserved to win. I play Jade Empire and Tales of Symphonia, other nominees, and in my opinion TSL was the better game. Jade Empire's real time combat was kind of bland and there was really no incentive to learn other martial styles. It was short, which isn't usually a big deal for me but 14 hours is the shortest RPG I have played since SNES days. I enjoyed Tales of Symphonia a lot, but I thought the sound was really lacking from Voice Overs to music to sound effects. It had a great combat system that never seemed to get old. But, the problem with Tales was the cookie cutter story that seemed like a clone of Final Fantasy X's story. I think KOTOR2 deserved to win for various reasons, some of them are biased . I like Star Wars so KOTOR2 already had the advantage. I enjoyed the more mature story of KOTOR2 compared to the other rpgs I played. The combat is nothing really new, but is still very solid. Kudos to bioware for coming up with an incredible turn-based combat system that isn't boring. I was disappointed in the styles because I was hoping for different animations for different styles. I enjoyed most of the characters more from KOTOR2. All the characters in KOTOR2 seemed much more complex than Jade Empire's characters. Both KOTOR2 and JE's characters were all to reliant on "Oh something in my past is bothering me I must join the PC to solve my past" card a little to much though. JE's characters seemed cliched to me while Tales of Symphonia's character were teens and acted like toodlers half the time and like 24 year olds the other half. It was confusing to get a real beat on the characters in that game. The endings on all 3 of the games sucked so no need to go there. Most importantly I had more fun playing KOTOR2 than the others.
  9. Man it seems that a lot of you are rather ravenous in your absolute hatred in KOTOR2. Why do some of you feel the need to attack anyone that defends it? It's a matter of opinion and quite frankly it's a little sad that some of you have to make excuses for KOTOR2 winning rpg of the year like following in the wake of KOTOR1 or because it uses an established license. Why remain on KOTOR2 boards if all you are going to is attack anyone that says "This game is awesome?" The nature of this thread was to debate whether KOTOR2 deserved the win compared to the other nominees. Not a KOTOR1 vs. KOTOR2 thread. When you say it doesn't deserve to win don't just rag on the glitches and plot-holes, but instead focus on what the other game did right to win your vote.
  10. I don't know about that. Tales of Symphonia was a good game, have you even played it? Anyways I do think Kotor2 deserved the win.
  11. I liked Malak fine, I just wasn't a huge fan of his out fit. His voice was uber though. I crack up when I hear him do movie trailers. "You thought it was safe to come out and play, but you were wrong! Random Movie 3 Rated R"
  12. Maul would be cooler if he wasn't five feet tall. Vader, Revan, Maul is my order. The mix of black, samurai type helmet, and robotic arms and legs are just too cool.
  13. This whole thing with KOTOR3 team being fired is taken completely out of context. First of all they weren't fired, they were laid off. Big difference. Secondly this all happened before Kotor2 was even released on the X-Box in the US. Thirdly Lucasarts' President is reducing the company size and creating less games a year instead their usual flood the market with different Star Wars games like super bombad racing. They said they would like it to be where they only release 2-3 games a year as a publisher and create more games like Mercenaries. All Lucasarts was doing was putting KOTOR3 on the shelf in order to save money and waited to see how KOTOR2 would do before committing themselves to making another one. (Speaking of which how did KOTOR2 sell.) Lastly we can't know what was going on behind closed doors at Lucasarts or Obsidian. Also people should really stop ragging on LA so much considering that they produce much better games that they did between 1999-2002. At least I think people should stop ragging on LA. I'm with Bastila_Skywalker and that we can hope for K3.
  14. A lot of the comments were accidently deleted at pcgamemods.com because there administrator or someone accidently deleted them. "I'm sure that any of you who use the forum frequently are noticing that there are some posts missing. I accidently deleted every post in the forum. This was completely my fault, and no I did not have any backups (which I have recently fixed). So I extend my apologies to those of you who have lost valueable information and I promise it will not happen again." -Sergio from pcgamemods. I remember there used to be comments because I read them.
  15. "Where was this guy when LA pushed OE and Bioware to release the games as soon as possible?" Funny because I remember KOTOR1 getting delayed several times.
  16. No I am talking about someone converted Jedi Oucast SP to Jedi Academy. http://www.pcgamemods.com/11972/
  17. Talk about nostalgic. I remember looking at screens with that guy in that suit when I first heard about the original KOTOR. Wondering what kind of game it was going to be like. I guess it was about 4-5 years ago when KOTOR was announced.
  18. I know someone did something similar with Jedi Academy being able to play Jedi Outcast or so I think.
  19. IGN's PS3 vs. X-BOX360
  20. I didn't see anything stating it was official. So is this just conjecture?
  21. What about Exile's face assuming you don't play as him/her. They gonna cover it up with a mask too?
  22. The one thing that cracked me up about LOTR: Third Age vs. KOTOR2 was that they said Third Age had better writing and dialogue. I was like WTF? Third Age was terrible! Absolutely terrible. All you do is fight Orcs Final Fantasy style with no towns, no people to talk to, no shops, no side quests, with characters voiced by the movie actors only because they stick a mic up to their tv while watching LOTR and use it in the game. Its a sad excuse for a game. They brag about being able to play as a bad guy in the game. Well if you go to the main menu after you beat the game you get to go through the same long level with just random encounters but as an orc. YAY! <_< The whole entire game is one long dungeon. I don't know why people rag on KOTOR2. It's a great game with lots of rough edges.
  23. Lol that would be a very cool fight. I want to see Vader and Luke vs. Revan and Malak
  24. Well hypothetically since there are no new star wars game coming out for awhile (I think) the Lucasarts QA should be freed up to patch their older games.
  25. I liked the Han Solo Trilogy by A.C. Crispin.
