I feel bad for the backers that didn't get what they were hoping for or expected. Getting burnt on this kind of stuff really sucks. :/ But I don't get why people treat any of this like a guaranteed product. Especially when so many things can change during production. Things like Kickstarter and Patreon are to help fund something getting made in the first place, not to purchase some item or items. When one donates/pledges money to these things, you should know going in that that money is gone (and that you're okay with that) and that the project may or may not turn out how you want. To be fair, I think the wording on a lot of Kickstarters word it like a promise or a guarantee, but I don't think it's realistic expectations.

I always feel too guilty to go out and out cruel for the sake of it. That said, I listened to negative rep interactions on YouTube and thought Aloth and Serafen in particular had some cool moments and /or conversations when you're negative rep and /or cruel. And I remember accidentally picking a cruel option to the poor lady asking for food in the Gullet and then realizing the interaction was more interesting than I'd expect. So it's possible! I just don't know for sure.

Maia implies a preference for women at some point but is definitely bisexual. Off topic, but I think Eder is the only heterosexual. Wait, is that stated somewhere? I got the strong vibe that she wasn't interested or comfortable with relationships in the party, but her actual sexuality never came up for me.

My personal priorities are story, characters, and lore. I enjoy combat and I love that the mechanics are actually related to how the universe works, but the nitty gritty details are usually secondary to me. So I'd say, right now, things I'd like are : 1) More Eothas content. I can't really go into it more because spoilers, but I love what's there and I think it would be cool to flesh out conversations w/ optional branches and have more content related to him outside of that too. (Though they already did this at least a little.) 2) More Rekke or more stuff related to where he comes from. That stuff is crazy interesting and he's a cool character. 2.5) Lore /details on Deadfire and other cultures or soul-stuff (afflictions, how souls affect the way things work, etc). I love the stuff they've done so far, in both games. Obsidian always does a wonderful job at thinking out how stuff would actually *work* in hypothetical situations. 3) More companion hub conversations, if possible. Companions are fantastic in this game, and I love how reactive they are, but I do miss being able to engage them more or have more in depth conversations. I get if this isn't possible with how much work they are. 4) Maybe more discussion on interpretations and understandings of certain gods. **Not necessary,** just a nice touch. Stuff like the story about a cat chasing a light and how Eothas and others interpreted it can really add to one's understanding of the world.

As to the first post, I think he suspects what Eothas wants to do and the potential consequences, and thus *wants* Eothas to succeed. Which in retrospect further highlights the giant risk of Eothas' decision. For the chime, I don't think there's a limit more than the limit of having contradictory oaths to different lords. And after seeing the manipulative, uncaring, 'abusive father' content from him, I highly suspect him pressuring you into taking a chime or dying was an attempt to trick you and gain more control over you on a permanent basis.

In addition to what handsomenat said, I read that (at least some of the) the runes in the circle on the ground, in the main level of the quest, are in Seki, which is his native language. Originally a companion or companions were supposed to comment on it, but the developers couldn't add it because the voice actors had already done their voice acting by the time that part was going to be put in. So I suspect that Rekke would have initially added to that.

I always liked the idea that one type of Wael godlike has a gradual but constant shift in facial features. Making it impossible for them to have one physical identity. Maybe they have a quilt of physical characteristics too - e.g. Aumaua teeth, one orlan eye, a jawline that shifts as it goes across the face. They'd still be very identifiable though, in that case. I really like the Eothas idea where he just lets his godlikes be normal people. I could also see him doing something really subtle and thus easy to write off /not notice. That said, he falls into some of the same failings as the other gods and I suspect that his distaste for how they treat kith is something that grew over time (and something he grew to feel guilty about), so I could see him making them more obvious.

I actually had an easy time making Aloth happy. He still took longer to befriend than everyone else, but that seems somewhat fitting. For me, I think it was three factors : *I started after some patches so I don't think I had as many companion glitches with reputation. *A lot of joke comments make you sound like you don't care /are irresponsible. My character usually wouldn't crack jokes, unless they were very harmless or in spite of absolute ****, so I dodged all the irresponsibility checks that hurt reputation with Aloth. *My character was very very pro autonomy and 'dutiful.' Which works well with anti leaden key Aloth. So saying things like how you *have* to help if you can and worrying about people in need give solid reputation boosts. One thing that struck me is you can argue with the Rauatai multiple times about the Huana' 's culture and future and basically take the stance that they have a right to decide where their lives and forming nation go, and that gets points with Aloth.

Actually, I think I've had less issues with Deadfire than a typical RPG that I've played. I've seen very few bugs. The only thing I'd say is that while there were very few bugs, the ones I saw really stuck out because they were related to things I care about. E.g. The game handling the order I did quests weirdly sometimes, the companions having conversation bubbles but then having nothing new to say.

Yeah, I don't think the Rauatai behavior and attitude just applies to the US, but man does it remind me of it, constantly. Also, I thought Josh Sawyer was a pretty big history buff? And I would say that the way Obsidian writes about factions and cultures strongly feels like they're taking what they've learned from history and applying it to different situations. Which is awesome! I think it helps make the worlds and people more authentic and believable.

Eder in Pillars 1 was a well-rounded character who flirted with stereotypes without giving in to them. Eder is Pillars 2 is Jethro from the Beverly Hillbillies. I don't *100%* agree but I really relate to /get what you're saying. Playing PoE 1 really emphasizes how off Eder feels in parts of Deadfire. It's really surreal. Especially because when they're not playing him up for laughs, I think the way he's written goes in the right direction. Like Eder wasn't ever crazy smart, but he was very aware of the problems with his culture and country and he had a good sense of things in that regard. Insightful maybe is the word I'm going for. He can still be insightful and protective and good ol boy in the game, but it's in pieces. It's just weird.
