  1. Terrible, like many things, is in the eye of the beholder. Also, when taking into to the fate of your companions, the go it alone ending is one of the few (only?) endings where there aren't terrible repercussions for at least some of them. Then again, I tend to put much more weight into the fates of my friends and the local communities/people I helped along the way than the big picure. I tend to think the 30,000 foot look at things will get overwritten by the next game anyway sort itself out in the fullness of time. Lol, that last bit. The companion part is hard. I was able to avoid it with a loophole, but otherwise it sucks. I just feel worse letting things get worse because I threw up my hands and gave up. Goes back into that argument about whether inaction is better or worse than flawed /potentially bad actions.
  2. I actually like that it takes time to complete the game. I really don't like stories that take a day or a week when so much happens. Though it's weird how slow Eothas is hypothetically going I guess. Lol
  3. Others might be able to find one for you, but I can create one! :D Do you have any other details on the character you want in the portrait? Eg scars, Necklaces, clothing /armor, eye color, facial expressions Paladin armor, one purple eye and the other brown, dark chocolate skin tone, and to finish off with his facial expression been cheerful or laughter if possible. Tyvm. Awesome! Np! I'm super excited. Thank you for the details!!

  5. I'm really curious what the story is with gift of hope. There were also a couple other not available abilities I was curious about but I've forgotten the names. It doesn't super matter to me if the answer was, "it got cut," I'm more interested in the story behind why it was thought up and then cut or if it not showing up is just a bug. Yeah I checked on this yesterday to see it got cut, but lemme probe a bit more as to why it did, I'd also like to know whats the story there Oh cool! Good to know! Thank you!
  6. Also just want to clarify quick, when I responded, I hope it didn't come off like I was trying to make you or anyone feel badly! Absolutely wasn't my intent. I just wanted to explain that perspective /point of view. Also super off topic, my bad.

  8. I feel like I'm baiting myself here, but : It's not woman showing skin that's a problem, it's the fact that an excessive number of things have most or all women showing skin for no reason other than fanservice (usually directed at men only). People would (or should) get mad if a ton of content was men constantly exploited for sexuality or whatever(just for women), over and over. I'm really grateful that pillars of eternity's clothes make sense/aren't just for a male eye, and that both men and woman are written like people and not gender expectations. That said, I generally don't care about mods or fan art, because it's totally individual and personal. People can do whatever in their personal free time. ;p
  9. It's okay! Speaking/understanding a foreign language is hard. So you don't like the solo achievement because you like the companions?
  10. . I really love this game and think it's made some great improvements on PoE I. Or, at least, it feels a little more fleshed out. The upgrades in graphics and audio weren't necessary for me at all, and if they went back on it for quality in other things I wouldn't mind, but I do enjoy them.
  11. I loved the quests to deal with the issues in the Gullet. The two im thinking of in particular is, "All Aboard," with Biha and the kids trying to get out of Neketaka and "Food for Thought," where you have to try to help with the massive poverty and starvation going on down there. They were both really interesting and showed a great contrast to the grandeur of the more tourist friendly parts of the city as well as the more successful version of hauana's societal systems in Port Majae. They also both had multiple ways that you could handle and resolve them, and it felt like you had to really earn the best possible result. All Aboard takes a lot of money and/or effort (and knowing how the people you're dealing with think) just to make sure no one gets left behind, and the work it took mixed with some other quests in the game that just can't have a super great fix, made it really satisfying to actually pull it off. --- As a side note, All Aboard has one of my favorite moments in the game. When you book passage for some of the family, you find out that there's not enough space because a guy(Orron) who's very ocd and orderly already booked some of the ship. So if you're clever enough, this can happen : Watcher: "I'm booking passage for a family. But Seduzo only has enough space for three of them, so they'll be split..." Orron: His hand jerks so violently that he splashes a few drops of wine on the table. He mops them up, a rigid and pained expression on his face. Watcher: "... and you'll be stuck with HALF of them for the whole journey. Won't that be ODD? " Orron: "That will not do. That will not do at all." [...]
  12. Ending Slide for Neketaka. While Hazanui Karū directs her fleet from Ukaizo, Atsura stays behind to manage Neketaka. Under his oversight, sturdy walls and artillery batteries rise to protect the city. Ships bearing settlers from Rauatai and staple goods from the archipelago churn the waters of Queen's Berth. And despite the vacancies at Kahanga Palace, Atsura retains his simple quarters in the Brass Citadel. Dude's not in it for the trappings of office. Oh! I gotcha. Yeah, he's not in it for personal comfort or fame. Though I would also say he's not just in it for the good of people. He wants a lasting legacy and he's perfectly comfortable to do things like murder the chieftain in Tikawara and then send aid to the tribe he just displaced to make them happy and establish his mark /roots. He has the potential to do real good, but he has some weird ethics (or lack of ethics).
  13. Wait, what? where did you see that? The vibe I got from his speech was that he just wanted to make a good legacy. Which has a possibility of an altruistic result but isn't required.
  14. Some strong feelings there lol. I sided with the Huana because I think the culture has strengths and the government wants to do right by its people, and I don't feel comfortable with helping a foreign power forcibly take over another group of people, potentially ruin that group of people's lives, and take away their culture and identity. It gives the group no choice in the matter, either. I don't think the caste system is fantastic, but when it works properly, it means everyone is taken care of. Which I think is a huge strength compared to some societies that just let people fall in the cracks and rot there. I couldn't go Huana if I knew that the problem with the Gullet and Watershapers wasn't fixed, but those are fixable issues. I do love Castol and I was horrified when I realized that was the Huana route, but there are ways to go the Huana route without ruining his life, so that's the route I went. How does this work? I could either ruin Castol OR get into conflict with the Huana. How did you avoid this? Before even talking to the Onekaza, I went to the Hazanui and told her I'd side with the Rauatai. When she told me that required killing the Onekaza (and potentially others), I eventually had to back out and say "I can't do this." The Hazanui can't let you leave after telling you all that, knowing you're not okay with it, so she tries to kill you. You have to kill her and everyone in the Rauatai headquarters (that finds you) in self defense to escape, which indirectly lands a huge blow to the Rauatai. If you go to the Onekaza after that, she's happy with that and doesn't make you do her nasty sidequest. So long as you helped Castol out in his hearings, he'll be basically fine in the endings. He gets to stay in the Deadfire Archipelago in a smaller role to research animancy, which he likes. He even saves Pallegina from getting messed up by the Huana ending. It still sucks because you have to kill the Hazanui and anyone that finds you in the HQ, which I didn't want to do, but out of all the awful ways to get one of the better endings, it's one of the least awful.
  15. Haha, holy ****, I've never seen the hug dialogue myself. That's weird. Thank you for sharing!
  16. You can absolutely go by yourself. I've never done it, but there's a (kind of terrible) ending for it. I think you need to upgrade your ship and crew to handle it by yourselves.
  17. This. If you turn on dialogue checks, you can see how he constantly tailors everything he says to your disposition. I love to hate Atsura. I don't think there's been a more punchable NPC in both PoE games. Maneha doesn't count because she's technically playable. I love that he keeps in mind what you're known for, and argues accordingly. It's slimy, but brilliant and game-wise super reactive and cool. Does anyone have the dialogue he says if you're cruel, aggressive, etc. etc.? I always go diplomatic and benevolent, sometimes passionate. Also, don't the other faction leaders do this too?

  19. I loved the characters in charge of the factions! They were so well done. Very human and distinct with their own personal goals and ambitions. I can even see the potential good Atsura can do and I genuinely was fond of his mannerisms, even though I wouldn't say he's exactly a good person.
  20. Do you really have to let him die? I was watching a walkthrough, and it seems like with a high enough diplomacy skill, you can pressure the Rauatai lady in Port Majae to take the scroll despite the stalker. She doesn't die but she has to leave early, which I *assume * saves the governor.
  21. I absolutely relate to that. Logically, I can see how you might not be able to make everyone happy and have to deal with that, but I also want to keep all the buddies I've made along the way. Did you complete her quest?
  22. But... he apparently has no goals, because as far as the epilogues go he does nothing with independence other than live in isolation and make big water statues in the middle of the ocean. His goal was to go his own way, without ties or obligations to others, and focus on making his art. That is a goal. Some people find self-actualization in creating art or music.
