  1. It's a reflection of the society it's made in as much as anything else. Christian based cultures have always had a very stiff attitude to sex, which, when combined with this 'new medium' seems to send people into some kind of mild frenzy. Compare to Japan, which has been putting sex in computer games for years (though they never make it west, obviously). Look at Mass Effect, it has a sex scene less explicit than that in titanic (PG-13) and suddenly this is a 'big thing' that everyone is talking about, rather than just 'the norm', as it's become in film. Another example would be Hot Chocolate. It was a joke more than anything else, and yet look at the reaction. And all this is the reaction from people who simply didn't grow up playing computer games, but who DID grow up watching films. My prediciton is that, give it another generation or two, when the people who grew up on computer games are in the posisions of power, and everything should stabilise a bit.
  2. Halowned.
  3. haha, i'm sure you found lots of 'girls' to talk to.
  4. Why the crap has nobody mentioned Homeworld yet? An RTS with a story that actually makes you care? An awsome last level followed by a satisfying and artful ending helped by actually good VAing? Blah blah blah, anyone who cares already knows, i'm just a nostalgic fanboy.
  5. The fact that the fish chick in Giants: Citizen Kabuto was 'covered up' in the US release of the game made me laugh.
  6. Nice work Nostrodamus.
  7. The issue is how many followers to turn into farmers, since you're never getting them back. The number of times Llyranor has been given a monestary tile, but has used all his followers makes me laught.

  9. It's not an excuse for shoddy workmanship, but the 360 gets a hard time over this when, in reality, the failure rate is not much higher than it was for PS2s, esspically the early ones, and that was the most popular console of all time. Sony cirtainly never sank the amount that Microsoft did into alleviating the problem either. Not that I don't love my PS2, I'm just a bit suprised that the 360 is getting such a hard time over somthing that's happened to other consoles in the past.
  10. Can I lick you? Licky lick.
  11. My score was embarasing, damn you for stealing my farms!
  12. It cirtainly isn't everyones thing, the game IS marketed for 14 year old ADD sufferers (who consistently kick our butts) though if you want a slower and more tactical shooter then consider picking up Rainbow Six: Las Vegas (play the demo first).
  13. People are complaining about somthing that they think they should be getting free, the actual fee is irrelivently small. Those people don't quite realise how much they get for what little they pay for though.
  14. The thing that really sold me on a 360 was actually playing one and finding that I quite liked the controlers (as well as the game being played, which happened to be Lost Planet).
  15. Maybe you feel that way, but was PST REALLY better than MotB? I havn't yet finished MotB so I can't say, but the thing about the plot that really stood out was that it was a personal story. No saving the world (except for personal reasons), it was all about the PCs own quest for attonement, and in a genre saturated by UR TEH CHOSN 1!, that was very nice.
  16. More than anything, awsome writing and plot.
  17. haha, captain PC is getting consolized.
  18. http://www.openrpg.com/ Use this, it takes a bit of fiddling to get it working (you have to install Python too), but works well, includes the ability to set up private rooms, roll dice and move characters on a battle grid.
  19. Moderation changes a man, turns him to the bottle. Before you know it he'll be snorting crack off a hookers silicon jubblies while arguing about existentialism in WoT. Sigh, another great man falls into ruin.
  20. ...are you drunk?
  21. So was the original Commandos.
  22. Dude, i'm pretty sure that optimism is against the forum rules. Dude.
  23. Actually, it's our birthday pretty soon.
  24. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/28286.html oh how I wish for this to be good. Not holding my breath though, and most of the fans of the original seem to agree.
  25. EDIT: ooops, he already got the point.
