How I finally got this fixed: Completely removed GoG Galaxy AND PoEII from system. Complete and total clean removal. Reinstalled GoG Galaxy Reinstalled PoE II This now enabled the checkboxes, BUT! Rum Runners checkbox still didn't show! And they were all DISABLED by default. Resigned to not care about rum runners, I manually enabled each and every one, which took forever. OK all good (except rum runners). Then I decided to try and manually install rum runners. As soon as I did the manual install, ALL the checkboxes disappeared, and my game in GoG Galaxy said "unverified". So I uninstalled rum runners, and then i re-verified the game files. FINALLY, rum runners showed as a checkbox. I enabled it, and everything is now up to date and working.

Spent several hours today getting my game working properly - All because I couldn't get the Critical Role pack to install. Basically, it started out with, all of my DLC options in Galaxy Client were greyed out. Completely. I couldn't enable or disable anything. The only things enabled were the ones available on release. First I tried all the documented support steps on GOG to refresh my account. Then I tried reinstalling the galaxy client. I even reinstalled the game. NOTHING. The only thing that got it working was a complete CLEAN uninstall of BOTH the galaxy client AND the game - which of course took forever due to download. After the nice clean install, NONE of the DLC is active by default. So I had to manually enable each and every DLC - which wouldn't be a big deal, except... it takes 10 minutes for EACH DLC to activate. It's not even downloading. It's just churning. Best I can tell, it is re-verifying the ENTIRE game before every single DLC activiation. This whole thing has been an absolutely horrible experience. Add to that the fact that I had POE1 on Steam, and now I can't get Gauns Pledge because of it... just ugh. It's really crappy that I can't just swap my key at this point. GOG is totally ruining this experience for me. Please, work with GOG to fix the install and activation of DLC to not be such a major pain in the keester?

3.05 Live on Steam
DiabolicallyRandom replied to Sking's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
As mentioned in that Reddit thread, Steam's patcher simply rewrites the entire game file that contains the change. I predict GOG's patch will be a few MB. Because they are doing it wrong. Steam has diff-patching now, and has for some time. They just aren't using the patch system properly on steam. Maybe because they don't know how, or maybe because they are too lazy. IDK. -
3.05 Live on Steam

For a minor patch, you must have totally fubar'd steam. 1.3 GB download, and I'm not the only one. https://www.reddit.com/r/projecteternity/comments/5ef0ra/13_gb_update_today/ -
Does anyone else still play the older stuff?
DiabolicallyRandom replied to DiabolicallyRandom's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
Interesting to read everyone's posts here - I do get the general feel in any case that 1st Edition AD&D is, like many other things of its era, mostly an edge case. In other words, people do still play it, but it is going to be difficult to find enough of them to run a good campaign. I am mostly ignorant of online Pen and Paper communities - I wonder if there might be more people online using some of the RPG tools I've seen floating around to play some of the more obscure / older pen and paper stuff "online". -
Sounds like horrible planning on EA's part - for something like that, a $20 dollar use on anything code, you don't make it multiple user multiple use. You give each user a single use single person code upon completion of the survey. This is basic stuff. Whoever messed this up in their marketing department will likely have a bad day at work.

NEW STRETCH GOAL!
DiabolicallyRandom replied to Loranc's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Per live stream, paypal is at 132,000. Kickstarter at 3,764,554 which puts it just shy of 3,900,000. can they do another 100k in the next 3.5 hours? i think so. -
I thought these weren't two separate things but the house was upgraded to the stronghold? No, you get both a house AND a stronghold.

Not that it affects me personally, since I can't afford that tier (plus they sold out in about 12 minutes anyway), but can anyone explain this - why can't non-US backers just add extra for the shipping? Also, would you mind telling us what software was used for those renderings, out of interest? It likely has to do with import/export laws and customs, and/or where the chips are being specifically sourced from (eg AMD USA, not AMD Global).

Wow - That loot bag deal is awesome - I switched as soon as I saw it - seconds later it sold out! Barely got it! I don't "need" the CPU - but I can definitely use it - My only question would be - will the CPU ship out before project eternity is released in 2014? I would hope so

I am OK with "romance" - but first things first - friendship - should be the first priority, and is far more important. I want to be able to build friendships. Romance is "secondary" to that, and I can do with or without it - if it flows naturally, fine - if it feels forced, then its going to break the 4th wall. In addition, you can have "romance" without "sex" - To use an example from Dragon Age: Origins - I was completely enthralled by Leliana's song sung to the PC - but I found the "sex" scenes rather forced and out of place. tl;dr - friendship first, romance only if it "fits" and makes sense.

Then you're knocked out/out of the fight. It's not a whole lot different from being knocked out but not killed in D&D. When combat ends or when another character restores some of your Stamina, you're back up. I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that it's more work. And what of "expert" mode death (or normal with it enabled)? Is it permanent, ala "hardcore" mode in other games such as D3? Or can you simply reload a prior savegame?
