Anime - coasting on emotion rollers
So first of all, this forum software is atrocious on mobile when using spoilers. Secondly good luck. Thirdly, you may want to check out Devilman Crybaby. It's very different than Madoka stylistically and it's only 10 episodes so if you hate it then it will go by quick. It has a lot of sex in it though, especially the first episode.

Bartimaeus is a big fat meanie. A big fat meanie zucchini. Let's chop it up, chop-chop it up. And serve it with linguine. AL DENTE. AL DENTE. AL DENTE. AL DENTE. @majestic I guess you've gotten out of the contract market. Really though Madoka is very good as a subversion of magical girl anime, of which Sailor Moon is the best example of. Which makes it a nice refresh to have after 200 episodes of SM. The way the faces are animated is a little weird to me, so was Sailor Moon tbh, but I think it works as a contrast between the general cute portrayl of magical girls and the brutal reality of having to fight monsters all the time.

I was honestly thinking of adding something to that effect in lmao.

The TV and Streaming thread Series 4
Really? One thing I liked about s1 was the equal opportunity nudity instead of having all the fellas be eunuchs. I guess shooting kids is cool but b00bs is too much for Netflix.

The TV and Streaming thread Series 4
Two episodes in and so far one hit and one miss. The hit was Ice. It may not be original (almost nothing is tbh) but it felt authentic, if that makes sense. The animation was ****ing stellar, it reminded me of the Zima Blue episode from s1 which was one of my favorites. Very impressive use of shading and the contrast between most of the animation and the whales was really cool to see. The miss was the customer service one with the old folks. It really felt like padding and the animation was atrocious to boot, especially the tiny hands. Not sure why you would see s1 and think "this needs to be toned down", it mostly worked because it could be very weird. Netflix strikes again.

What you've done today - The Edge of Night
The way some people get so worked up over having to wear a mask indoors is the dumbest thing I have seen. It's like simple courtesy is impossible for these dip****s.

There's some really great direction in Madoka that just sticks with you, especially with Kyubey. I find that with most things (that are good) I watch it first and just get lost in it* and on subsequent watches take a more analytical eye toward scenes. *It's hard to describe this, like I get enthralled with the story that I just find myself focusing on the whole thing and struggle to separate it into components to analyze. So my reviews tend to focus on a finished product that can't really be broken down. Anyways you're forgetting one major thing.

Maybe you should do something less creepy then. Like Kars laughing. Now that's a face you can trust.

Yeah, I think it was a building that housed equipment and stuff from MEE and Al Jazeera. The owner or manager was filmed on the phone begging for 10 minutes to get some of the equipment out before bombing, which was denied. The AP building got hit too (if it isn't the same one) and the BBC also ran into trouble I believe.

Unfortunately it looks that way or damn close to it. ****ing horrific.

Speaking of fashion and close siblings, I finished Castlevania. It clearly ran out of budget at points but you know what? **** it, this show is hilarious and amazing. It totally jumped the shark and it worked imo.

She sounded like an old lady in the sub. Honestly I thought Fish Eye was a lady until he was referred to as he. There's a lot of close brothers and cousins in the dub.

It's not feminist DIO or youtube comments but I watched some of Castlevania last night. It's funny even if it feels rushed. Malcolm McDowell is there too as Varney of London, a vampire no one seems to have heard of.

Are you expecting him to start screaming "MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA" or "WRRRYYYYYYYYYY"? As the art style changes, DIO (and pretty much all other characters that reappear) get less buff even if they're still muscular.

Finished Great Pretender. I have to say it was a fun ride and while I'd be happy for more, I'd be fine if the Wizard of Far East was the last scam. Looks like Castlevania is back so I guess it's vampires for the weekend. The ****roach episode is one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. Wait till you finish.

Life's not fair. Pull yourself up by the bootstraps and game the tax system yourself instead of asking the government to make people pay more taxes.

The way of the househusband. The animation is ****, while it's not a cgi abomination it's very static and feels closer to a series of stills than properly animated. But it is, and I do not say this lightly, absolutely hilarious. The premise is a former yakuza is now a househusband and it follows his adventures like trying to clean the house or feuding with a crepe vendor. Each episode is less than 20 minutes and composed of several vignettes, so it doesn't take long to watch. And that would be the most normal thing to happen.

It was perfect. Ussgi just happens to have a picture of Ami eating, and gives it to a guy that has a crush on Ami. Most other characters that'd read like sabotage but with Usagi it's just her classic combination of social awkwardness and being helpful. Lmao.

I have watched every season of JoJo as well as the Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan spinoff and honestly? I have no idea. You could summarize it as an action adventure story with a flair for the dramatic and blatant homoerotism that focuses on members of a particular family who have supernatural powers. And that would be accurate enough (if downplaying just how....suggestive the show can be). But how does that capture even a quarter of the things that went on in the first season of the show? From that would you be able to guess about Nazi cyborgs? Chariot Duels? Thunder Cross Split Attack? It's very difficult to explain without spoiling a lot and really long explanations....and even then it's something you have to see to really get. I usually just recommend it as a very weird show that goes places, and so far everyone I've got to try it liked it. I think you'll like Stardust Crusaders a lot, even if it departs from Battle Tendency in a lot of ways. The hamburger picture remains one of the funniest moments in Sailor Moon lmao. Majestic will appreciate Ami cosplaying as Von Stroheim.
