Her interaction with Makoto didn't bother me because I knew it would be over by the end of the episode and because Super S has given me very low expectations of the Sailors. Whelp I guess I'm glad to be associated with the panicked screams of a(n almost) 70 year old man as he encounters bizarre phenomenon that cracks his sanity in a quest to save his daughter and stop THE WORLD. It's better than Pedosus at least.

That was actually what I liked, her chasing that kid around and destroying the arts and crafts was funny. Oh and I think in the sub of the dentist episode, Usagi yells "Oh My God" in English. That got a laugh out of my fiance.

Sailor Moon 153 and 154

Man this thread went places. I may respond more later, but I'm taking a break and don't have the time to post too much. 0% now that I've been challenged. Really though, we're watching less because Super S is just so boring compared to previous seasons (and because I'm more busy with work and she's got things to do). If S highlighted what I like most about the show (and 90's anime in general), then Super S is doubling down on what I dislike the most. I could take the pedo horse or the sexual predator crew if the rest of the show wasn't just Usagi and Chibi-Usa fighting over and over before getting into a fight with a legion of largely forgettable circus themed monsters.

I never watched Andromeda, which is weird because I watched a lot really dumb scifi shows as a kid. Looks like I dodged a Kevin Sorbo shaped bullet lmao. Not really sure I ever had a crush on a fictional character. I remember as a horny kid recording movies to look at stuff before I had a device I could use privately, but no real romantic feelings or anything.

It can and I think that's what they were going for, but I think that Rei is often too mean to fit that and it's weird her relationship with the other Sailors isn't similar. All of this makes it seem likes she singles out Usagi specifically and lays it on her a bit too thick at times, which supports her not really liking Usagi but hanging out with her because they're Sailors and have the same friends.

Yeah there are big parallels with Chibi-Usa and Rei, down to some things with Mamoru. What really gets me is that I can't recall Rei (or Chibi-Usa) being antagonistic with any of the other characters like they are with Usagi.

What's confusing to me is if their relationship is supposed to be friends who fight or two people who really do not get along but are stuck together because of commitments and their friend circle. It seemed initially that it was the latter, developed into the former, then reverted back because Super S is dumb.
