What are you Playing Now? - Back to the Grind
PK htiw klaw eriF replied to majestic's topic in Computer and Console
I think that with BG3 doing shockingly well there's a decent chance for a PoE3, perhaps even more if Avowed does well. We'll have to wait and see, but honestly I would not be surprised if we saw PoE3 announced in a year or two. Anyways I tried some more Fire Emblem Engage and absolutely got my ass handed to me by some spawns with massively boosted stats. I think that you're supposed to run from them but boy howdy it was a shock to get one rounded. Gameplay wise I'm torn on it because while it generally has the best encounter design of any recent Fire Emblem the magic anniversary rings are stupidly broken and aside from a handful of bosses are all player only things. The story is dog**** even by recent Nintendo standards and I'm embarrassed when the dialogue plays. -

While I love Tetsuo the Iron Man I'd have to say that within the realm of Japanese cinema I'd probably rate Death by Hanging, Wild Zero, and Occult Bolshevism as in a similar lane of KP movies. -

When it comea to keeping copies I'd probably lean towards what @Bartimaeus does and keep things stored in a big honking hard drive instead of trying to catalog stuff on discs. Indeed that would lead to madness, but also goddamn tedium. I don't have much but I guess I should get started. Streaming has absolutely failed at curation, there's a substantial amount of films that you simply can not legally get access to via streaming or digital rentals while what's there is being divided into increasingly smaller walled off gardens with mediocre content sludge covering up everything. Anyways.... Johnny Guitar (1954) A psychosexual drama that takes place in a dream of the west or a generic 50's western. I can see it either way tbh. Near Dark (1987) An action-packed vampire biker western. It's good for what it is, but like Aliens sacrificed horror for action which isn't quite to my tastes. Lair of the White Worm (1988) Incredible. Definitely a step up in terms of horror compared to Near Dark and more genuinely wild than Crimes of Passion. Inside Llewyn Davis (2013) It's a nice slice of life for a struggling musician who's definitely an ****. There's more than a few times I did a giant belly laugh. -

At this point any "can it be worse" question can immediately be answered with a yes. I didn't watch the trailer and have no opinions on the show. -
I think a big reason why Germany is intervening, beyond the German government being extremely invested in Zionism for ideological and economic reasons, is that if Israel is found to be committing genocide* then Germany becomes an accomplice because they sold Israel a substantial amount of weaponry and backed them politically throughout the slaughter of Gaza. And because Germany has criminalized genocide denial, this means pretty much every member of the German government is now a criminal based on their own law. Of course I think it's likely that Germany just sidesteps a hypothetical guilty verdict, what good is the law if you can't rewrite it after all, but it's at the very least a legal kerfuffle that will need to get sorted out. *I think it's clear that Israel is committing genocide, what I mean is to have a legal institution declare that to be the case officially.

No. As much as the hater in me would like to give it a 0/100 review, I am opposed to numerical reviews on principle.

I have made thousands of posts on the Bethesda forums about how Starfield is a festering piece of **** and I have never played a minute of it.

So in addition to the boring ass randomly generated planets this game also has MMO quests? Lmao that's bad.

Danny Devito could single handedly defeat the Netherbrain. -
I made some mac and cheese and steak. The mac used pecorino romano, gruyere, taleggio and marscapone and was fantastic. Probably won't do it for a while because it's a ton of calories and that cheese wasn't cheap, but it was good for a fancy take. For the steak I used the cold sear method and it wasn't the best, cooked a perfect medium-rare but lacking a good crust. I've heard that before, as well as.....older inventory being more likely to give to folks asking for well done.
-
I'm thinking of something like a bordelaise with pan sauce. It tastes very good and is a way to reincorporate the fond back into your steak. But red wine reductions with butter are luxurious regardless.
-
Donald Trump eats his steaks well done and slathered in ketchup.
-
Reported for poor taste. Aside from allegedly one very (in)famous case I can not think of anyone who puts ketchup on a steak. Who the hell actually does that? I typically like my steaks just seasoned or basted with butter, but sometimes a pan sauce can be pretty dope.
-
I didn't say cheese sauce or chilli because imo those are more things to put on top of fries than dip them in, but if we're going beyond dipping I'd rate putting chilli and queso on fries as top tier fries. Carne asada fries are also in that tier. I'll have to try the harissa and ketchup next time I have fries.
-
The best FREEDOM fry dipping condiment is spicy ketchup (for something quick, mix ketchup with some hot sauce like sriracha). Believe me.

The Cat From Outer Space (1978) It's a Disney movie from the 70s, the wacky name was the best part of it. The Man Who Fell To Earth (1976) Jesus ****ing christ, this is incredible. David Bowie as an alien, 70s surrealist scifi, TV as an addiction, incredible music, and perhaps the greatest sex scene to have ever been shot (I won't spoil it, but it is an incredible fake out). I am so happy I could scream. Absolutely incredible. -

Finally got through TTA and played LoN for a while. So far I like the aesthetics of the frozen wasteland and the first shard area. Of course Owlcat does Owlcat and there's plenty of jank, and I have to say that I prefer the feelz of TTA in being an urgent struggle for survival while this feels like something that the party can take their time with. Perhaps the biggest complaint is the usage of the mercs who, so far at least, can't get the shard powers. Also wish the Android companion had a proper unique/new owlbrew archetype instead of Thundercaller that uses INT. As always for the Owlfinder games complaints aside I'm having fun. For me it's not BG3 good but there's a certain charm in this stupid **** that I can't help but enjoy. -
imo it depends on the recipe and I view them as different ingredients rather than equivalent substitutes. Fresh pasta is an absolute must for lasagna but I wouldn't want to use it with any of the Roman pastas (a Zozzona with fresh pasta is la bombe tier) or anything you need or want a good al dente for.

I'd say give it another chance. It is 22 episodes but they feel pretty tight and well paced. -

Finished Psycho Pass I very much liked it, perhaps even loved it. Frankly it's the kind of thing a lot of (western) live-action series on streaming services try to pull off but can't because they get cancelled too quickly to tell the whole story, which is exactly what I thought when I began watching it. There's apparently a couple of sequel series and some movies, I'll maybe check those out and see what they're like but imo as a limited series this can stand alone. I'd tepidly reccomend it to the folks here, though as always the naughty brain of @Bartimaeus may short circuit and drive him into enough of a rage to complete his unholy ritual to summon a demon that will try to kill us all.
