More Hardwood + Round Holes = Lots of Scoring in Basketball 2K19
Keyrock replied to Leferd's topic in Way Off-Topic
The good news for the Lakers is that the loser of the game still gets another chance. Imagine having to go against Steph Curry in a do or die single game? Yikes. In theory, the Lakers are one of the best teams, if not THE best, with Lebron and AD, but we haven't seen them both on the court all that much this season. -
https://www.chipsinamerica.org/2021/05/11/semiconductor-industry-and-downstream-sector-leaders-form-coalition-to-secure-federal-investments-in-domestic-chip-manufacturing-and-research/ A bunch of giant tech companies have banded together to try to secure funding for the CHIPS in America Act from the federal government. The act authorized manufacturing and research initiatives for semiconductors, but as of yet has no funding. Pretty much all the tech giants are part of this including Intel, AMD, Nvidia, Samsung, Apple, HP, IBM, Microsoft, etc.

It seems I managed to survive THE GREAT FUEL SHORTAGE CRISIS OF 2021 and somehow the country didn't devolve into complete anarchy (yet). It's a good thing since I don't have the hair to pull off the Toecutter look.

What Are you Playing Now: Living the Good Life

I finished Zero Time Dilemma. This is the game that answers the question "What if Hideo Kojima made a Saw movie as a video game?" Pros: * Well written non-liner narrative * Not afraid to deliver a brutal Bas Rutten liver shot, metaphorically speaking * Great puzzle variety * Overall good puzzle design, including fragment-spanning puzzles Cons: * Game didn't make me a sandwitch Conclusion: Spike Chunsoft makes niche games. Things happen in their games that may be too much for some people. I get why mainstream games won't go there, I raally do. Still, I'm really glad someone makes games like this. -

I was thinking Victoria Principal, but I think you may be closer with Paula Abdul. Edit: Wait, Gloria Estefan? -

I'm getting more Carl Weathers. This game is from the late 80s, and Carmen Electra didn't get famous until the 90s, so the center one probably isn't her. -

Way back in the day I played a game called Sentinel Worlds 1: Future Magic. Here are some of the available portraits: They didn't even try to change Sigourney Weaver and Arnold Schwarzenegger. As an aside, this may be my finest thread derailing ever. I regret nothing! -

@Sarex Fair enough, but at least they changed the picture enough that without a side by side I don't automatically think Hugh Jackman. The Angelina Jolie picture is so obvious. -

If it's a small indie game made by 1 person or even a team of 5, I don't really mind it. I get it, budget is tight, maybe they don't have and/or can't afford a decent character artist. Maybe they're working other jobs to make ends meet. It's fine. But a company the size of Bioware? The worst was with Tali. At that point they were one of EA's crowning jewels. There is no budget or talent constraint excuse I can accept. It's laziness, plain and simple. -

It's like the "artist" didn't even try to cover up the fact that it's Angelina Jolie in the far left picture. She has such a recognizable face, a few tatoos ain't gonna cut it as far as fooling anyone that it's an original work. No wonder Bio changed it in a patch, that was a lawsuit waiting to happen. -

Look on the bright side, that means there is a real woman that looks like that... or did 20+ years ago. @KatphoodLet's be real here, the real star of the show was Miranda's behind. The camera was practically glued to it. -

Viconia was a stock photo with some minor photoshop work done to it. Bioware pulled the same stunt with Tali in ME3. -
Apparently, people exist that have poor enough taste to dislike a movie with Helen Hunt and a flying cow. At that point anything is possible, even disliking Ernest P Worell.

I'm pretty deep into Zero Time Dilemma, almost certainly more than half way (the game is very non-linear, so it can be hard to tell). There are some flat out emotionally devastating sequences and ****'s gotten all types of twisted. I kind of thought I had a lot of the plot figured out, and some of my suspicions are still viable, but boy oh boy did Spike Chunsoft throw one helluva monkey wrench into my gears. I can't wait to see how this shakes out. -
For 45 years my style could be best described as "schlubby".

Oh thank God! What the world desperately needs right now is more excessively grindy by design games with 27 different currencies.

I fancy myself to be a bit of a terrible movie connoisseur, however, while I have certainly heard the legend of Neil Breen, I have never actually watched one of his movies (aside from short clips), which is a black mark on my record. I will soon rectify that as there is a DVD now headed for my residence: I can hardly contain my excitement!

Haven't there been like 27 Ice Age movies?
-
Maybe it's just the way they cut the trailer. but i couldn't take any of it seriously. If they play it straight then it has potential to be cringe city.
-
Is this meant to be a comedy?
-
No orks in the trailer. 0/10 would not watch again.
-
I won't dismiss it simply because it's a mobile game, though it being a mobile game doesn't exactly inspire me with confidence. Good mobile games exist, they're rare, but they do exist.

@Mamoulian WarAre Tales games self-contained? Can you just jump into the series anywhere, or do you need to play previous titles for backstory?
