  1. Drafutt: I already made a thread about this, for 364. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/69468-364-big-char-creation-bug-at-least-for-chanters/ Granted, my title and description of it pretty much sucked.
  2. Yeah, this neither-nor doesn't sit well with me.
  3. Yes, please, to this neat idea!
  4. This is a bit where I stand. I'm really liking combat in 364, but it doesn't feel like IE spiritual successor combat, if you know what I mean.
  5. I forgot to mention this^ It's sorely needed. When I went for Chanters this time, I had literally just Ancient Memory and a derivative talent of that one to choose from at level 4, 5, 6. Sure, there were a tonne of weapon talents with Athletics on each and every one, but this is just too scant. Please, OE, add more talents!
  6. For the first time, I ticked "Pause when enemy spotted". Interestingly, combat music starts as soon as you spot it (or perhaps because it spotted you?). Anyhow, my BB priest can at this point activate her Healing aura on the entire party, for instance, but my Chanters' aura don't get activated. Instead, I get the message, "Your party must be in combat". Funny thing is, next pause tick in combat, because of the first attempt to attack someone, then the Chanters can have their chants fire up (as shown by the snake light effect encircling that icon). I vote for having that chant get auto-activated at enemy spotted, or at least that we can get to activate it manually by clicking on the icon. If the BB priest can do her aura, the Chanters should be able to do their auras. I just want all things fair in this department - no teacher's pets, please.
  7. In a perfect world, almost all loot should be unique in one way or the other, even description-wise, design, and so on. Without combat xp, I reckon they should at least have made a bigger effort on interesting and detailed loot.
  8. I'd like to add a +1 to all of those who've underlines the problem with bats dropping platemails, wolves perfectly fine cloaks, and oozes dropping love letters without any protective casing. Please have loot drops that make sense, and preferably won't bury us in repetitive stuff. I would loathe to see the lists of a million short swords from the SSI games do a come back in PoE.
  9. I can confirm this for cases with three and more cultists down under the ruins as well.
  10. Is it just me, or is the slight pulsation of the marker circle when you select one of your characters in combat too weak/faint and altogether the wrong colour (it blends into most spell FX)?
  11. Agreed on a revamp on many combat effects for increaded visibility and clarity, and yes, that web is pretty terrible. Looks more like some fire-extinguishing foam.
  12. I'm afraid it always has been too. Regardless of which size you have it set on, as combat ensues, you only get to see some mid-section, or if you will, older stuff, in the combat log window. It has a very hard time showing us the last stuff, the latest stuff, the new stuff, the stuff that's occurring now. It needs to auto-centre/auto-lock on its latest lines, always. Also, the info in it needs gleaning. There's still redundant info getting shown.
  13. And speaking of arrows: I can't find the thread, but I recall me and lot of other peeps were not happy about the character creation windows. Since they are already nice and big, it's extremely annoying that you have to use an arrow to scroll down just in order to see the end of the descriptions, and the end is usually the most important stuff, like what attributes or skills that you get a bonus in.
  14. The good: -Loads of polish -At least indoors, character models pop enough over the background, but like I've others already pointed out - they don't in outdoor areas (the ghost effect is almost gone, though) -The speed of combat is pretty nice now -Auto-attack is working, sometimes -For the first time, I felt like I really want to play this game for the combat as well. I made characters with low Might, Perception, and pumped Int, Resolve, which perhaps made it all the more exciting. I don't know. I used spells more (due to lowered speed), and overall had quite some fun in combat. Much of the frustration is gone. I even got to a point on Normal, where my Camping Supplies dwindled (I forgot to buy any), so I had to make my way back - it felt nice, actually - my priest was even mortally wounded and in red. The bad: -Combat still tends to mimic a magnetic grinder, where the party and the enemies apparently are of metal and clank straight into the middle with sounds and fireworks going off -Auto-attack is far from reliable. Not even the Chanter summons attack. It feels weird to order three skellies and a ghost to attack a mortal. -I'd strongly urge Obsidian to add Lore Xp to Cultists as well. I went the Ruins route, and I haven't got xp (except for one or two locks) in two hours. Overall impressions: In many ways, the game is beautiful. It looks and sounds like an IE game done in the year 2014. The scope seems pretty big and rewarding. However, the gameplay and the combat has much more in common with NWN2, and also DA:O and DA:I. I know some people will be really annoyed about that. Personally, I'm starting to like it a lot.
  15. I'm sad to see that this atrocity still remains.
  16. I bought an item, which had a short description, which sounded nice for my Chanter. However, when I opened it up in the invo and read it about it. It said Paladin-only. That was a bummer. PoE needs some function that "reddens stuff out" if the buyer can't use the item.
  17. Nice catch. Both of my chanters had Ancient Memory and also that deeper "specialization" on top.
  18. If you make a character, in my case, chanters, at least if you female, and big some godlike, and then chanter, which you then max out, Resolve for instance, to 18, then you get to pick "origins" that may raise resolve by 1 for instance. What happens is - Resolve won't get raised. It stays the same!! Even worse, if you pick another "origin" that raises, for instance Dex or End, it also removes one attribute point from 18 where you set it to, for instance, and you suddenly get 17. Try it yourselves. It's very bugged - and whatever you pick, you have basically got screwed by picking this "origin/background". This bug was not present in 333.
  19. Sensuki, I was just about to report this! By co-incidence, I made a party with a chanter as my main, and then yet another chanter as my 6th, and they are indeed getting jiggy with it all the time, especially after combat.
  20. Using the arrows at the top to flip through characters, will get your main description to wiggle up and down. It's a bit annoying.
  21. Pathfinding down under the ruins, at least in narrow indoor areas, is pretty bad, still. It can mess up combat and just plain old trap searching or walking in and out of an alcove in 364.
  22. This thread alone is a little showcase of a pretty big discrepancy between what really is featured in PoE and what some people assume is in PoE (often based on the IE games), and this really worries me, and it ought to worry Obsidian too. Imagine how many thousands of backers who aren't aware about endless stash, endless ammo, no combat xp, and so on. There will be plenty of unhappy faces come release day.
  23. Sorry. Arrows, bolts, bullets, etc, are endless in PoE. I was one of those people who wanted them to be finite, btw.
  24. Indeed. If I hear a sincere reference to realism again, I'll ROFLMAO. Not many people seem to know PoE's game system. No wonder, with all these references to Mass Effect, which I have never played. Perhaps it's a good game series. I have no clue. Space CRPGs aren't doing it for me - post-apocalyptic ones - sometimes - and then we have the cool Millions of Years Into the Future with Plenty of Dimensions-ones, which I adore.
  25. I have to frisk every stiff. I just have to!! I need cognitive therapy for this.
