  1. That doesnt' look like a functional fighting weapon. There is practicly no space between the curved crossguard and the handle for the fingers. Can you even grip it properly?
  2. Umm, no. That's Hollywood. You don't use a hammer the way you would use a sword. If you did, only then it would be legitimate to say that it's slower due to physics. Different weapons employ different techniques, also based on physics, however, which make up for the relative speed differences. As I said before, that's physics. You can't cheat physics. You move mass either way. And while you don't use them both completely the same, in some cases you do. Even worse for hammers it they don't have a piercing tip, since they depend on large swings, and not short jabs/stabs. Nope, it's not. The center of mass for an axe will always be higher, making it inherenlty less balanced.
  3. Internet breeds fanboys. But it also breed professional haters. People who are the other extreeme. They hate because they can. As blidned as fanboys - often even moreso - their tastes and egos are the only things that matters. Incapable of objectively rating a product, they will insist it's garbage if they don't like it. This is the reason why DNF and DA2 got so many 0's and 1's. Let's face it - they didn't live up to the expectations but they weren't THAT bad. Even with all the flaws they are rather average (as the vast majority of things really are). Do these haters care? Nope. In their eyes is someone, something angers or dissapoints it deserves only the worst. They will eagerly call for the deaths of developers/writers, the ruination of companies (and by extent the people who work there and their families), all because of their fragile egos couldn't bear dissapoinment.
  4. Then I shall rearrange your bookcase and sock drawer. You will live in sock-related anguish!
  5. You know, the first time I read that sentance I understood it as "deflowered slaves" and it immediately raised an eyebrow. Having your own harem?
  6. That's exactly how it works actually. If you run into a random group of monsters, your immediate objective is to survive the encounter. How you do it is irrelevant. What's pointless about that?
  7. Want me to to check your post history? HMmmm....not impressed. But seriously. Don't get worked up. The post wasn't aimed only at you, but at everyone posting in this thread. It's getting irritating when one group talked about apples and hte other responds about oranges. It often is. But I don't see a problem, as you loose out on all the loot. There's always trade-off and time is only one varialbe in a large equation. If I don't want to talk, I won't - regardless how faster it is.
  8. Of course it would, since it basically is an RPG! You play as a mercenary, follow a storyline, do quests, gain experience points, have loads of stats.. Then JA2 definately.
  9. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! My evil truly knows no bounds. Now for my next step in my master plan I'll leave you toilet seat down.
  10. http://www.indiegogo.com/sots-thepit?a=1627415 A new indie project by Kerberos. A light rouge-like action RPG. Check it out. B.t.w. - SOTS2 is given the all clear signal!!! http://www.kerberos-productions.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=35604
  11. That's Hollywood-level understanding of the weapons. Current understanding and studies point to otherwise. No, that's physics. Bigger mass takes more effort to get moving. It is slower to accelerate. It is also harder to stop. Center of mass affects balance. Mid-swing a two-handed hammer is just as fast as a sword. But it takes slightly longer to get up to that speed. The difference is minimal tough, but it exists. And it might very well make a difference in battle. Actually, they can be poorly balanced. People used not only what was best, but also what they could aford. Some used makeshift weapons, some used weapon made by sub-bar blacksmiths. Some weapons were made to be used by masses of dirty pesants and survivabiltiy was not a big issue. As long as pesants take some enemeis with them, that is.
  12. Bollocks. By your own logic, slaughtering everything in odler IE games was the fastest option. So how is replaceing fastest option 1 with fastest option 2 any WORSE? It's technicly the same thing. That's assuming your theory was correct, which it isn't. I think you really don't understand what goal/objective based XP really is if you equate it only to quests. Also, killing opponets has a reward of it's own - LOOT. And assurance they won't bug you in the future. **** Repeat after me people: OBJECTIVE/GOAL-BASED XP Not Quest-based.
  13. Well, constitition would be a big factor for both. Willpower would also be one for stamina. Other than that, I don't see anything having a big impact.
  14. JAGGED ALLIANCE 2 It had the best health/wound mechanic ever. Hell it's the best and deepest tactical squad combat game I ever played. Learn from it.
  15. Speed depends on weight and balance. Bigger weapons were usually slower - but that's mostly because a lot of htem were poorly balanced. Two-handed axes, maces, hammers, morningstars - they all have the weight at the tip, which makes them poorly balanced...the best word would be a bi sluggish. It's slow to start a swing and it's even harder to stop it or change direction - but once it hits it hits HARD. Two-handed swords were the fastest two-handed weapons, since their weight was better distributed and their their center of mass was much lower, closer to the hands. You could swing them pretty much jsut as fast as a normal sword.
  16. SCIENCE! :D Cats rule on the internet you dog owners have your 'sunshine' and your 'outside'.
  17. Everyone knows dogs are superior to cats.
  18. Shouldn't be a problem. Breasts aren't rigid and usually aren't that big. Especially if you're a warrior woman. Your body would develop in more atheltic direction.
  19. Don't know really. But BG2, ToEE, Fallout and Drakensang: RoT are defiantely my favorites.... Wait...would Jagged Alliance 2 count as a RPG?
  20. Ok, who is this green shirt girl? If all of this attention is purely because of her looks, then she must be one HELL of a good looker. And now I'm suddenly curious . Anyone got a link to the video or picture or something?
