So what? You're proud of the segment of the community that was going on about the girl kid that was at the party being a loli? You think it was perfectly fine all those guys telling the green shirt woman to take off her top? People should apologise for that crap. If not apologising for comments like that is what makes you so proud of being an American it makes me glad I'm Canadian. Unlike that article I take it as a point of pride that Canadians are known for being polite, well mannered and not total asshats. http://en.wikipedia...._country#Canada Wow you Canadians sure are great. Wikipedia's legitimacy aside, US has it's own page for serial killers.

So contrary views not welcome. Nice to see my humorous post removed. Am loving the new, BSN-friendly moderation policy guys. Srsly. Of course they are not welcome. You are a really bad person if you got a different educated opinion. Nudity, porn, options of GTFO! :wheresThatSmileyWithAGunWhenYouNeedIt That being said, I don't think LadyCrimson meant it like that.

Why not? Because that would limit the kind of character content you can experience with a given PC. Since many people feel strongly about romances, this would not go well. Clearly, the only solution here is to make the romanceable companion from a changeling-like race (godlike subrace?). If the NPC can change gender at the player's will, all combinations are covered! That's like *Cartman Voice* Quarter-bi */Cartman Voice*!

I disagree with that. The writers don't have to do anything, besides following some basic rules of storytelling. Too many options are what make "romances"{Statement: Oh, How I hate the use of that word}, minigames. The writer should only want to write a good story, if that involves any kind of relationship, that should be explored. No need to start fan service for everyone. No need to give options for the sake of options either.

That's a really good argument. Good "romance" arcs are used as plot devices, they are not there for the player to choose between this person and the other. Geralt's relationship with Triss? That's important, it affects the plot and gives opportunities for both characters to develop. While optional, Safiya, Kaylyn Okku/One of Many and WhatsHisName in MotB and the KotOR 2 companions', their relationships, whatever the kind, also serve the plot and character progression. The romance part is optional in MotB and semi-optional in kotOR 2, but the relationship, again whatever that is, is a plot device. Not some sidequest or dialogue minigame. This doesn't happen with Sheppard and the characters in ME. Some make a little character progression, but the Narrative fails to show this affect the plot, or Sheppard. They are just side quests, the relationship with the characters is unimportant to the plot.

Uh-oh. XD Actually, they were equally rude to Veeno. (I did not totally just sound like a 5-year old tattling to the teacher... right? Good... /cough ) Don't let them get to you. For every troll, there is at least a hundred of us who welcome folks with open arms and treat them with respect. Oh, don't tell me you never trolled anyone!

Good points. Suppose the City is already built, and the Stronghold was, for instance, some decrepit place near to it, or even in the city itself, that nobody quite knows what to do with? And then you come along, for whatever reason, and want to build it up. Or you get awarded it for some task, what-have-you. Would that be more palatable? Really, what i want, is for their to be a town around the Stronghold. So I'm trying to think of ways to get that, you know? IMO, as long as the stronghold doesn't lock any content irrelevant to it everything is fine. For example, entering a tomb beneath the city for some other quest and happen to find some info, that you can find otherwise/easier as well, that allows you to start the quest for the SH is fine. Needing to go a long way with the SH, just to be given a mcguffin at the end to unlock something for a completely irrelevant quest, isn't good.

Please no. Not everyone cares about building a stronghold. Limiting the second city to that, would be bad.

All I ask is for the ending to make sense and actually be based on ideas presented throughout the MQ. So no out of nowhere rational character to evil monster boss, or 180 turn on the overarching plot again out of nowhere. And lastly actually make the quest feel completed, or at least the part of it we got in game, if there is continuation.

Romance and friendship?
kenup replied to Krikkert's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Funny, but I still don't care about working for a pimp and drug seller, if I can help it. And the garrets are pretty much dead after I'm done with other quests involving them. -

First off, the meter isn't required to be seen by the player, it's just a variable on the background. Second not everyone will care about everything(except from a paladin, or any other kind of extreme lawful aligned character, perhaps). Third nesting of structures helps. Fourth C&C, choices should matter, so flags should still exist. Lastly the "choices & consequences being a hell" reasoning, is what made nothing matter in ME3, added the Avenger Assault Rifle or animation of bitchslap and the "Shepard is always a Soldier in cutscenes". -

Influence/friendship/whatever meters don't work. By adding them, you make the player pick dialogue options not based on his/her opinions or feelings, but rather what he thinks the NPC wants to hear, to get a relationship boost and unlock new conversations or bonuses. It might be better if it's hidden, but still I'd rather not have such mechanics. Only when you are metagaminng or roleplaying a complete flatterer. If it's the first option, then congratulations, you are ruining the game for yourself by your own choice. Influence meters are the only way to keep non player characters reactive to player's choices throughout the game. Or we can simply have them react to flags for previous events/choices and the one currently in. No? -

Just to clarify - is it bad or good, that fans of BG/BG2 are here? I'm pretty sure he means it as a good thing. In fact one or two names here, ring a bell or two from the old(pre social) bioware forums. -

Except I never cared about any of these. Just make a separate porn(dot)nexusmods(dot)com, Do not allow any nudity and porn in the other sites and it's done. As I said the problem is that almost every file on nexus will have a nude+ pic. And because sometimes the modders themselves use nude mods on their screens, even mods that have nothing to do with that will be flagged as adult. Or not and it's still going to have that imature nude H cup pic. Ok, so no worries there, P:E isnt gonna be the kind of game that you can really show nudity and the worse it can happen to you is that there is gonna be written porn in a mod. On another note i find somewhat funny you being worried about nudity when P:E clearly is meant for a much more mature audience (sure we get stupid "BOOBIES" mods on the Nexus, but those are trash like many other mods). Going into a place where raiders hit, and there being a nude dead woman; that's fine. A prostitute naked in the brothel? Absolutely fine. A sex scene in the witcher? I don't like how the show some things(and it is very much uncanny valley territory), though it is in a Dark Age setting, but again I'm ok with it. What I don't like are the really creepy uses of nudity etc by the nexus community, or the unnecessary use of it in certain files. -

Nude and porn mods? I don't see any reason why someone would want to censor nudity on the news either! -

Why? There will be mods for PE, we can't stop it at this point even if we wanted to - and Nexus is arguably the best place to put them on. Where else would you want to see them? In a place where there are limits about what is allowed. And also in a place where it's not populated by bethesda fatboys that download porn mods primarily. What's up with this totalitarian mindset? So trying to deny people romances in the main game is not enough, now you are willing to deny them to have theirs in their personal small apartment HDD mod space? Ban and censor the opposition right in their homes? I don't care about what they have, or do, in their homes. But there should always be limits in a community, both on-line and off-line. It can't just be "anything goes". There is no totalitarian mindset, it's logic. And where the line lies is of cause for you to decide, right? Yes! That's exactly it. I'm the perfect person for this job! That's what I'm saying. You got me right there! You really need to get out. @Rosveen There is no adult section on nexus. You can go at any mod that has nothing to do with nudity, and you'll still see foreveralone guys, even the modder themselves, posting screenshots of their H cupped naked pc. And nice strawman with lightsabers. It's much better to have different sites for porn mods. You don't see any porn mods on the KotOR filefront mod sites. This hasn't stopped the community from rolling mods out.
