October, eh? Pre-order, eh? Normally, I wouldn't pre-order. But: 1) Evil Unicorn. 2) 2x airline miles.

Game of Cons: You Either Win Or You Don't Go To Comic-Con
Just got back! I ended up buying Constant C on Steam one day because they had a great booth and were really nice and talkative. That's marketing people! Will post pics later, I guess. There are a lot. I need to cherry pick. Saw a fantastic TF2 cosplay. Oh, and randomly had drinks with a dude name Chris the last night. He makes games or something. Overall, it was one of the best cons I've been to. Got a lot of work done, but also had a really relaxing time. Went by super fast, though.

How does PoE innovate?
Besides this being a ridiculous post, we're all using the word innovation wrong. Like it's some feature that is somehow mutually exclusive from the mechanics of the game. And yes, good stories do innovate.

How does PoE innovate?
I can see that Vol has found a new hunting ground.

Dragon Age: Inquistion
Don't you mean buy it on discount so you can say triumphantly that you bought it for ten bucks less than full price? I mean, that will really teach EA. I mean BioWare. It will teach BioWare. To, uh, not be bought out. Yeah.

Josh Sawyer on dealing with grognards
They said they are making an Infinity Engine-type game. That's what they are doing.

Dragon Age: Inquistion
I need this game to be pre-orderable already so I can pre-order it and get airline miles.

Please make your expansion's story fit within the main one
This could both be good and bad, depending on how they intend to do the sequel.

Release on 2015 if that will mean a better game
This is the reason why we're not gtting a Borderlands 3 anytime soon. Instead, we're getting Borderlands 1.5, made by an entirely different studio.

Black Humor is amazing. But jokes about very real and very harmful stuff is just not funny.

I don't think you understand what humor is. Making fun of domestic abuse is not humor.

Steam Box, Nvidia Shield, Steam OS ETC: Not Supporting Controllers in 2014 Released Game Is NOT Forward Thinking
That's sarcasm, right? Right? No. that's the key - in old school You make something awesome happen instead of game making something awesome for You. If a game is boring, that doesn't mean it is Old School. It means it is boring.

What are you playing now
SS is a great game if you just want to putz around. I'm currently debating pre-ordering Garden Warfare (yes, yes, you never pre-order standard editions), buying Blackguards, or buying Dragon Commander. My WonderCon funds must hold! I keep saying Dragon Commander and Blackguards are research, but.... yeah....

Release on 2015 if that will mean a better game
Kickstarter is not really helping the notion that money somehow magically corrupts you like it is Black Water.

Josh Sawyer on dealing with grognards
Cause they rehash their games more than a cow their grass, and people still somehow buy each and every incarnation. Yeah, I don't get it either. Seems to me they are getting it very right.

Release on 2015 if that will mean a better game
How do they fund a delay? And perhaps more importantly, how do you judge what is a "better game"? A game in development for 10 years isn't necessarily objectively better than a game in development for 2 years. Development process has top-priority goals and those of secondary priority. Usually some of those end up being cut off from the final product due to lack of development time. They can very well be elements the developers think they can add that extra bit of flavor, but in the end they decide they have to release their product leaving them out, so not to disappoint us paying customers who are so hyped to get the game without further delays. What I'm saying is that I want PoE to come out like it was envisioned, even if that means it will delayed another 2-4 or no matter how many months. It is clear so far our friendly developers are perfectionists, PoE is their prodigy, they want it to be as good as it can be and they want the game to leave behind a legacy and the ground for following titles. Being a pen-and-paper GM myself, I understand how they see things and I will be patient for this game no matter when it is released. When they cut content, they don't get the money they made the content with back.

... then, uh, why do EA and Activision make so much darn money?

Metacritic is bullcrud, plain and simple.
